Does Jackery or Anker have Better Power Banks?

(Last Updated On: March 30, 2017)

Two very proven charging electronics companies, Jackery and Anker have always been questioned as to which of their power banks are better. Overall, that’s a great question because each of their power banks holds a lot of quality.

With that said, let’s take a look at what kinds of power banks that each of them has and which ones are better, if at all.

Mini Power Banks

Jackery Mini Power Banks

In the Mini power bank segment, Jackery has two main power banks.

Jackery Mini

Jackery Mini

Review for Jackery Mini

The Jackery Mini power bank is one Jackery’s flagship portable chargers and that’s because it takes the same shape and size that other mini power banks have.

With that said, the Jackery Mini is basically like many other small power banks on the market and that’s because of its 3,350mAh power capacity, but that’s to be expected; since the power bank is meant to fit into your pocket.

Also, the charging power is basically the same as most mini power banks with a 1 Amp Output charging speed. However, it recharges at 1.5 Amp charging rate, which is faster than most mini power banks.

Jackery Air 6

Then there’s the Jackery Air 6, which falls into the Slim power banks category within Mini power banks.

The Jackery Air 6 is among the most useful Slim power banks that are on the market and this is because of its extremely small size, as it’s basically the size of any smartphone and is actually quite a lot smaller than newer and larger smartphones.

Just how small are we talking about it? Real small. It has a length of 4.6 inches, a width of 2.4 inches, and a thickness of 0.3 inches. So it can easily fit into your pocket a lot more easily than those cylindrically shaped power banks because of its slim shape form factor.

One of the other main things that the Jackery Air 6 does a great job with is its charging speed. The Output charging speed through its single port is 5V/2.0A. Although, the Input recharging speed is a slow 5V/1.0A  recharge speed that most mini power banks have.

Conclusion for Mini Power Banks with Jackery:

That’s all that Jackery has for its Mini power banks segment, and the reason we had to go into detail with what Jackery’s power banks had, is because they have so few.

On the other hand, Anker has quite a lot Mini power banks.

Anker Mini Power Banks

Since Anker has lots of Mini power banks, we’ll go over them briefly, and if you want the full-fledged reviews, just go ahead and click over to each of the power bank’s review below the images.

Anker PowerCore Mini and PowerCore+ Mini

Review for PowerCore+ Mini

One of the best selling power banks on Amazon is the PowerCore+ Mini, and that’s because of the utter simplicity that it provides.

Also, since the PowerCore+ Mini exists, there’s also the predecessor, which is the PowerCore Mini and it basically has a slow recharge rate and just a tad bit of a lower power capacity.

PowerCore 5000

Anker PowerCore 5000

Review for PowerCore 5000

The PowerCore 5000 is part of a larger generation of Mini power banks that have higher power capacities but have a small cylindrical shape that is easy to hold.

It comes with a higher power capacity than most power banks, that’s able to charge most smartphones about two times. It also has faster charging and recharging capabilities than smaller power banks that are just like it. With that said, the problem with the PowerCore 5000 is that it has a large thickness, which can make it difficult to fit into your pocket.

PowerCore 5000 Slim

Review for Anker PowerCore 5000 Slim

One of the best parts of this PowerCore 5000 Slim is that, even though it’s slim, there are functional parts on the power banks that help it more than its form factor.

On one side of the PowerCore 5000 Slim there are rubber ridges where you’d stack your smartphone; and on the other side, it’s curved which makes it easy to hold. The 5000 Slim from Anker isn’t one of the slimmest power banks from Anker but it is one of the few Slim power banks that have a high power capacity and are still able to be slim and slide into a pocket.

PowerCore Fusion 5000

Review for PowerCore 5000 Fusion

One of Anker’s latest creations that double as a power bank and a wall charger. It’s a 5,000mAh power bank that surprisingly has 2 charging ports. The Fusion 5000 has a retractable AC Adapter that you use to plug the into an AC Outlet for it to be used as a USB wall charger.

Once you connect the Fusion 5000 into an AC Outlet, charging is slowed down through the ports, and it recharges the power bank. However, if you’re charging devices while it’s plugged into an AC Outlet, then charging your devices takes the priority.

Verdict of Jackery and Anker Mini Power banks

Overall, Anker has more variety and advancement when it comes to Mini power banks. Anker has the lower power capacity segment and lots of higher power capacity power banks that are still mini in size.

With that said, Jackery doesn’t have bad Mini power banks, it’s just that there isn’t too much innovation when it comes to this specific segment of their power banks.

High Capacity Power Banks

Power banks that have high power capacities aren’t nearly as used as Mini power banks but they still hold a solid place within the portable charger space of charging. This is because of their high power capacities that are able to charge devices multiple times over, lots of charging options and more importantly, some very powerful charging through special charging tech.

Jackery High-Capacity power banks

Jackery has 3 main high capacity power banks and this is where they mostly excel.

Jackery Fit

Review for Jackery Fit

The Jackery Fit is the basis of Jackery’s high capacity power banks and it has a power capacity of 10,200mAh. With that said, the best part of the Jackery Fit is it’s 2 charging ports and that’s because each of the charging ports is able to deliver a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. A charging speed that fast is able to charge most devices at their max charging rates.

Jackery Giant

This Jackery Giant has a power capacity of 12,000mAh. A small step up from the Jackery Fit but it’s still something. However, the charging for the two ports on the power bank is different for each of the ports and that means that if you’re charging 2 devices at once with the Jackery Giant, then at least one device is going to charge at a lower charging rate than the other.

Jackery Titan

Jackery Titan is the best power bank that Jackery has and for good reasons too. The power capacity of 20,000mAh is enough to charge multiples devices, multiple times over and it also has a few charging ports.

The higher end model of the Jackery Titan has 2 USB ports and a USB-C port. One of the USB ports has a charging speed of 5V/3.0A and the other one features Quick Charge 2.0. The USB-C port can be used as an Output when you use a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and the USB-C port is also the Input of the power bank.

Ultimately, the Jackery Titan brings the best that a high capacity power bank can bring.

Anker High Capacity Power Banks

Generally, Anker has more going on with their high capacity power banks. They all have high power capacity, but the main difference between them are the versions and this is because most of Anker’s high capacity power banks have a PowerCore version, which is the standard version. Then there are the PowerCore+ versions of power banks that have special charging tech features.

PowerCore 20100 and PowerCore 20000 QC

Review for PowerCore 20100

The PowerCore 20100 is the standard version that has a 20,000mAh power capacity and 2 charging ports that both feature 5V/2.4A speeds through each of its two ports. The best part is that the Max Output is 4.8A. The PowerCore 20000 QC version is simply the same thing, it’s just that one of the ports feature Quick Charge to charge Quick Charge compatible smartphones at their max charging speed.

Lastly, there’s one version of the PowerCore 20100 that has a USB-C charging port.

PowerCore 26800 and PowerCore+ 26800

Review for PowerCore 26800

The PowerCore 26800

The PowerCore 26800 is one of Anker’s highest capacity power banks and what comes with the enormous 26,800mAh power capacity are 3 charging ports that each has a charging speed of 3 Amps and the Max Output is 3 Amps. The regular PowerCore 26800 also has 2 Micro-USB Input charging methods and that means you can recharge it much faster.

The PowerCore+ 26800

The PowerCore+ 26800 is nearly exactly like the regular version, it’s just that one of the ports features Quick Charge 3.0 and the PowerCore+ version uses only 1 Micro-USB Input port that also uses Quick Charge. So when you use a Quick Charge wall charger to recharge the PowerCore+ 26800, it’s able to recharge faster.

PowerCore II

Review for PowerCore II

The PowerCore II is basically like the PowerCore 26800, however, it just has a lower power capacity of 20,000mAh. So it has 3 charging ports and 2 Micro-USB Input ports that all have the same charging power.

It’s a great option for those that want to have a bit more portability with the lower, but still high power capacity.

The verdict of the Jackery and Anker High Capacity Power Banks.

Ultimately, Anker wins here too. Anker has quite a lot of options when it comes to their power banks and this is because they always start at a base with certain power and build upon that. This means that they optimize their base power bank, which is the PowerCore series and then on from that, the PowerCore+ series of their power banks have all the special charging tech.

Not only is the special charging tech important, but even their base power banks have powerful charging through each of their charging ports and they also have a high max Output to take advantage of as much power as possible.
Jackery does also have quite a lot options, it’s just that their power banks are a bit scattered.
