Does Aukey or Anker have Better Power Banks?

(Last Updated On: January 11, 2021)

Many brands make charging electronics on the market today. It makes sense that there are many brands too.

As charging our portable devices has become increasing need overtime and nearly everybody either owns a smartphone or some other portable electronic that they practically use every day.

With so many brands producing charging electronics, it can be quite confusing to figure out which ones are better than the other.

That’s why we’re going to compare two of the most well-known consumer electronics brands that sell things like portable chargers, wall chargers, and other various types of charging electronics.

The two brands are Anker and Aukey. Both of them have a strong presence on Amazon and that can be proven with the many reviews on there.

Even though there are a ton of reviews, not many of them go into detail about the products that each of them has, and neither do the reviews compare the two brands. Anker holds a strong footing with some of the most well-known portable chargers and their customer service is one of the best.

That said, Aukey also makes top quality chargers and some consider it to be better than Aukey at times.

The branding of Aukey is quite close to Anker or vice versa, and that’s another reason why they have a fierce competition going on. That’s why, in this article, we’re going to be choosing if Aukey or Anker have better power banks, wall chargers, and a few other charging electronics too.

Comparing and contrasting their products will hopefully give you some insight on what brand of products are worth your money and which ones aren’t. Let’s get started.

Aukey Vs. Anker Portable Chargers

Portable Charging has grown at an exponential rate over the last few years. As you can probably guess, it’s because most of us are always on the move with our portable devices such as our smartphones being the main portable device that we tend to use.

Then we have other portable devices such as laptops, tablets, and also wearables that require charging.

We’re going to cover USB wall chargers within this buying guide but we just want to go over portable chargers first because Anker and Aukey have consistently specialized in the power bank market.

It has shown too, that people like using portable chargers, because of the ease of having a charger with them while they’re on-the-go.

Let’s first start with the low capacity portable chargers that each of the brands has and compare them both. Also, just to give you a rundown of how we’re comparing the chargers within this comparison, we’re still using the criteria which we use in our reviews which are:

  • Power
  • Design
  • Build
  • Reliability

Four of the main pillars that make a great charging electronics product.

Low Capacity Power Banks from Anker

Anker knows how to create mini power banks and it has shown just how many people have purchased their flagship mini charger.

It’s called the PowerCore+ Mini and at the time of writing this, the power bank has a total of 26,461 reviews. It has served many customers very well, but let’s take a look at what it features.

The PowerCore+ Mini has a very small size and the main title it has is that it’s a Lipstick-sized power bank, other brands have also followed the same description for their mini chargers.

That said, using a Lipstick as a way to convey the size of the charger isn’t wrong at all as it has a length of 3.7 inches and a thickness of 0.9 inches.

No complaints about the weight of the charger either as it only weighs 2.2 ounces. This does indeed live up to its title as being a mini portable charger that’s about the size of a lipstick and can, therefore, be treated as such by putting it into a pocket or into any bag that you’ve got.

Charging power from mini portable chargers is mediocre at best and that’s not to say it’s a bad thing.

It’s just that when a power bank is very small, quite a lot of compromises have to be made such as lowering the capacity, and in this case, it would be 3,350mAh.

This amount of power capacity is usually with most mini portable chargers within this segment and overall, it’s going to be able to provide about a single charge to some smartphones, but if we’re talking about Android smartphones that usually have higher battery capacities then you can expect less than a full-power charge.

Aukey Mini Portable Charger

Aukey 7,000mAh Power Bank with Aluminum Shell

On the other hand, Aukey has gotten rid of their very low-capacity Mini power bank, and even though that seems like a bad idea when you consider just how popular Anker’s PowerCore+ is, well it isn’t too much of a bad idea at all.

The reason for that is because we’ve gotten to the point where a lot of smartphones have very high capacities.

New smartphones are now starting to have 3,000mAh batteries and beyond and so having a 3,350mAh power bank isn’t enough power to charge those smartphones to full power because you have to consider the conversion of power and how much is lost.

That’s why in comparison to Anker’s PowerCore+ Mini charger, we’re going to be using Aukey’s 7,000mAh capacity. As it has a very similar size and yet the power abilities of the charger are quite different and in many ways, better.

Yes, their mini portable charger has a 7,000mAh capacity and that’s enough to charge most smartphones to full power about 1.5 times.

It’s the perfect amount of capacity to charge smartphones in this day and age because smartphones have higher capacities than before. On the size and weight side of things, this charger is, of course, going to be larger than Anker’s PowerCore+ Mini because of its higher capacity but it’s not too much at all when you consider just how much power you’re getting.

As it has a length of only 5.3 inches and a thickness of 1.2 inches. So that’s about 2 inches longer than the PowerCore+ and about 0.3 inches thicker.

Charging power with this Aukey power bank is ultimately better than the PowerCore+ Mini. It has just a single USB output port, but it’s able to output a charging speed of 5V/2.0A and the recharge speed is 2A too. So faster charging for your devices.

With capacity being higher, the charging power being stronger, and the size being slightly larger it all comes together to make a mini charger seem more than just mini.

Also, the price difference between the PowerCore+ Mini and the 7,000mAh Aukey power bank isn’t very different at all and that is surprising when you consider the Anker charger has lower grades specs.

Another two portable chargers that are very similar to Aukey and Anker are their 5,000mAh power banks.

Anker has its PowerCore 5000 charger which of course features a 5,000mAh power capacity just as the name implies. While Aukey also has its 5,000mAh capacity portable charger.

Both of these chargers are the same as their specifications. They have enough power capacity to charge a smartphone to full power at least once, and they’re the perfect power bank to get if you want to charge smartphones to full power and still own a mini charger that you can take anywhere with you.

Charging speed when it comes to using the chargers is also identical to both the PowerCore 5000 and Aukey’s 5,000mAh charger have an output charging speed of 5V/2.0A and a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A too.

Medium Range Portable Chargers

Medium capacity portable chargers are taking over the market and buyers are more likely to purchase these types of chargers. three main reasons for that are because they tend to have higher power capacities and therefore they can last longer.

The use of a higher capacity doesn’t affect the size of these chargers too much and lastly, mid-range power banks start to have special charging tech such as Quick Charge and USB-C implemented within them. That said, USB-C isn’t really special tech and rather a new standard of charging, that’s even more reason to purchase these types of portable chargers.

Anker PowerCore 10000

One of the most famous mid-range portable chargers on the market is Anker’s PowerCore 10000.

The main reason that this charger is so good is that even with its 10,000mAh capacity is has a charging design that matches a mini charger. That’s because it has a single USB charging port and also a Micro-USB input port.

Charging speed is very good as the single port has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and that’s the max standard charging speed before charging tech like Quick Charge or USB-C.

Also, just as stated before, chargers like these are very small and that’s the main highlight when it comes to owning them as you get a very small size while still getting the benefit of having higher capacity and more powerful charging. Something like when Goku, Trunks, and Vegeta discovered Super Saiyan 2, but it was just too big/slow.

In this case, Medium-capacity chargers are more like when Gohan when Super Saiyan 2, as he bought agility and power together just as Medium portable chargers do.

In this case, the Power Core 10000 has a length of only 3.6 inches and the width of the charger is 0.9 inches. Making a ton of power being able to fit into the smallest of spaces.

Also, the use of a single port is somewhat surprising because Anker could have made this into a 2-port power bank but instead went with a single port so the user can take advantage of the entire power capacity with just a single port.

Aukey 10,000mAh 2-Port Portable Charger

pic-1

On the other hand, Aukey has a different charger on its mid-range portable charger, but it has quite a few similarities to the PowerCore 10000. As their power bank also has a 10,000mAh power capacity, that said, the main difference is that Aukey’s charger uses two USB charging ports. With each of the ports having a different charging speed.

One of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.1A and the other port has a charging speed of 5V/1.0A.

The great part about charging with this power bank is that it has a max output of 3.1A and that means you can use the max power of each of the ports at the same time. That said, even if you don’t get a 2.4A charging speed, you’re able to charge two devices at once and the charging speed of 5V/2.1A is still quite close to 2.4A.

Recharging this power bank is just a little faster than the recharging speed of the PowerCore 10000, which has a charging speed of 5V/2.0A.

Overall, if you do want to be able to charge two devices at once with a mid-range power bank, then Aukey is the best option. At the same time, you get some good charging speed with each of the ports.

That said, the Anker PowerCore 10000 is a great charger if you want more minimalistic charging as it uses a single USB port and you can, therefore, use the entire power capacity for a single device at a time.

Medium Capacity Power Banks with Quick Charge

Power banks that use Quick Charge are almost the preferable types of chargers over just regular ones.

At least that rings true for people that own Android smartphones, because they’re the ones that are Quick Charge compatible. Aukey and Anker take advantage of Quick Charge quite a lot with a few of their chargers and they both have very similar chargers that are identical when it comes to their power capacity and charging power too.

Aukey 10,050mAh Power Bank with Quick Charge

Their Aukey charger has a similar size to their 10,000mAh power bank. It has a length of 4.2 inches and a thickness of 0.8 inches. Along with the capacity and very small size, you get very powerful charging with the single USB port and the Micro-USB input port that it uses.

Both the USB output port and the Micro-USB input port use Quick Charge. As a result, if you own a Quick Charge compatible smartphone then you’re able to change it at its max charging speed.

You can also charge standard devices with this power bank and it’ll output a speed of 5V/2.4A. Most of the time when it comes to Quick Charge ports and you’re using the Non-Compatible device, the charging speed is 5V/2.0A but this Aukey power bank does a better job at providing a more powerful charging speed.

Anker PowerCore+ 10050

pic-1-1

The PowerCore+ 10050 portable charger is very similar to the Aukey charger, or vice versa depending on how you look at it.

It has the same specs such as its 10,000mAh power capacity that can charge most phones about two times to their full power. Charging speed is also the same as the output and input. This power bank uses Quick Charge with its output and also with its Micro-USB input.

Just something to consider if you do decide to purchase either power bank, you should probably own a Quick Charge USB wall charger because that’s the only way you’re going to be able to take advantage of the Quick Charge recharge capabilities.

Mid-range Power Banks that use two USB Ports along with Quick Charge

Power banks that use Quick Charge while at the same time use two ports are a need on the market.

As you could want to charge your Quick Charge compatible smartphone while at the same time charge a Non-compatible device. Chargers like these also tend to have a little a higher capacity than the charger that we covered previously.

The main reason for having a higher capacity is because when Quick Charge charging is happening, it tends to make the conversion of power worse from your portable charger to your smartphone. Adding a bit more power can make up for the worse conversion rate.

pic-1

That’s basically what Anker did with their PowerCore+ 13400. As it has a 13,400mAh power capacity that can charge smartphones to full power about two times.

It also has two USB charging ports, with one of the ports using Quick Charge 3.0 and the other standard port has a charging speed of 5V/1.5A. Even though the standard port has very slow charging, the main reason for that is because it still uses its Quick CHarge power even if you’re charging two devices at once with this power bank.

Specs of the Anker PowerCore+ 13400:

  • Capacity:            Advertised: 13,400mAh             Output Capacity: 11,000mAh

  • LED Power Indicators: 10 LED Power Capacity Indicators
  • Size: 5.7 x 1.4 x 4.3 inches
  • Weight: 13.8 Ounces

Even though this is Anker’s PowerCore+ line, this charger does not use Quick Charge with its Micro-USB input port, and instead, it has a standard recharge rate of 5V/2.0A. It is made out of Aluminum just like the PowerCore+ line is known for.

Aukey 10,000mAh 2-Port Power Bank

Aukey also has a mid-range capacity power bank that uses two USB charging ports.  It has one port that uses Quick Charge and the other port has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A, which is quite a lot better than the standard port on the PowerCore+ 13400 charger which has a 1.5A charging speed.

At the same time, this Aukey power bank has a 10,000mAh power capacity and doesn’t provide any more power.

The form factor of this charger is great as it’s slim with its thickness of 0.5 inches and it has a length of 5.9 inches; making it easier to just hold it in your hand or placing it into your pocket, versus the PowerCore+ 13400’s near 1-inch thickness.

The Aukey power bank does not use Quick Charge when it comes to recharging it, but it does come with an LED flashlight as a kind of extra thing with the charger that can be useful if you find a need for it.

Standard High Capacity Power Banks

High Capacity power banks are the most useful portable chargers to own and that’s because they have a lot of power capacity to use, which means more full charges for your devices. It also means that you get more USB charging ports and more powerful charging.

Let’s take a closer look at what Anker and Aukey have to offer at the edge of portable charging.

Aukey 20,000mAh Power Bank

We’re going to first go over the two brand’s normal high capacity power banks. “Normal” meaning that these chargers have both, high capacities, but they don’t use Quick Charge or USB-C.

Aukey has a 20,100mAh portable charger. Lots of power to be used, but to be completely honest all of the other facets of this charger don’t offer very much.

Even though this power bank does have two USB-A charging ports, the max output of the charger as a whole is 5V/2.4A and each of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. So if you’re charging two devices at once, you’re likely just getting 1.2A speeds.

Not powerful at all, and at the same time, you would think that the recharge speed would be quite fast to redeem this power bank. But it doesn’t because it has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A.

Overall, Aukey didn’t put much thought behind this standard high capacity portable charger, and it shows when you compare it with Anker’s standard high capacity power bank. Their PowerCore 20100.

Anker’s PowerCore 20100 Portable Charger

The Anker PowerCore 20100 charger has all the parts that truly make it a high capacity power bank that reaches into power levels that it’s supposed to. It, of course, has a power capacity of 20,100mAh and that’s enough to charge lots of smartphones and other devices such as tablets to their full power a few times over.

Then there’s the charging power with this power bank and it has two powerful standard ports. Each of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the best part is that the max output of this charger is 4.8A.

That means you can use the ports on this power bank at the same time and use them both to their max power too. Recharging is standard as it has a Micro-USB input port that recharges this power bank at a 5V/2.0A charging rate.

Standard High Capacity with Quick Charge

High Capacity power banks are known for having charging tech such as Quick Charge and that’s their main highlight along with the high power capacity. These portable chargers from Aukey and Anker, are upgraded versions of the chargers that use faster-charging tech such as Quick Charge when it comes to their output and input charging.

Anker PowerCore Speed 20000

The Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 is the same as the PowerCore 20100, but this one uses a Quick Charge 3.0 port of the two USB charging ports that it does have. The standard port has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. Even so, charging a Non-Compatible device with the Quick Charge port will result in a 2.4A charging speed too.

Recharging this PowerCore Speed 20000 is also a great experience as it also uses Quick Charge with its Micro-USB input, so you should use a Quick Charge wall charger to recharge it as fast as possible.

Aukey 20,000mAh Power Bank with Quick Charge and 2 Input Ports

On the other hand, Aukey did a great job with their higher-level high capacity portable chargers because this charger holds value for what it has to offer.

It has a 20,000mAh capacity and two powerful charging ports. One of the ports using Quick Charge and the standard port has a 2.4A charging speed, just as the PowerCore 20000 Speed has. The main difference with this charger is that it has two input ports.

With there being a Micro-USB and also a Lightning input port, and you can use either of them to recharge the power bank. Each of the two input ports has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A, but you can only use one input at a time and they both cannot be used at once.

That said, the use of a Lighting input port is very useful for those that own an iPhone and don’t have a Micro-USB cable, as most power banks tend to have only a Micro-USB input port. This charger also has a flashlight as an extra feature.

Maximum High Capacity Power Bank

Max high capacity portable chargers are the types of chargers that are basically at the limits of how much power a power bank has that the brand produces. These chargers are the pinnacle of what high capacity chargers have to offer that the brands are selling.

Anker PowerCore 26800 Portable Charger

Anker’s base maximum high capacity power bank may very well be all you’ll need. It has a ton of power capacity of 26,800mAh, so you’re going to have more than enough power to charge a smartphone to full power many times over; you can also charge tablets to full power a bunch of times too.

Charging with the PowerCore 26800 is very good because you get a total of three USB charging ports. Each of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/3.0A, and a 3 Amp charging speed is higher than the normal 2.4A.

The max output of the power bank is 6 Amps and so you’re able to use the max power of two ports at the same time without decreasing the charging speed of either of the ports.

Recharging this power bank can be done through two Micro-USB input ports and the best part about this charger is that you can use two of the input ports at the same time. Each of the two input ports has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A so when you use both of the ports to recharge the power bank you have a 4A full recharge rate.

As a result, you end up with a faster recharging speed that results in this power bank being able to charge up to full power in about 5.6 hours. It’s quite a fast charging rate when you consider the massive power capacity that this charger has.

Size and weight are of course gonna be on the high end with the PowerCore 26800 have a length of 7 inches and a thickness of 0.9 inches  It weighs a pound.

Aukey 26,500mAh Power Bank with 4 Outputs Ports and 3 Input Ports

Aukey’s maximum high capacity power bank also holds quite a lot of its powerful charging features. It has a capacity of 26,500mAh so there’s no shortage of power when it comes to charging smartphones and tablets to full power a few times over.

That said, the main event with this charger is that it uses four output charging ports and it also has three input ports.

Three of the output ports are USB-A ports and the fourth one is a USB-C port. Two of the USB-A ports have a charging speed of 5V/3.0A, and the third output port has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A.

The fourth output with this power bank is the USB-C port and it has a charging speed of 5V/3.0A which can be useful for charging USB-C compatible devices with a USB-C to USB-C charging cable to charge at a faster rate.

Recharging this high capacity power bank is just as awesome an experience as charging your devices with it. That’s because it has three input ports, so it has three ways to recharge it. There’s a Micro-USB port that has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A and it also has a Lightning input with a recharge rate of 5V/1.5A.

The final input port that you can use to recharge this power bank is the USB-C which has the fastest recharge speed of 5V/3.0A.

Overall, Aukey’s max high capacity power bank seems to be a lot more versatile when it comes to its charging abilities and that rings true with its output and input charging capabilities.

Maximum High Capacity Power Bank with Quick Charge or USB-C

The final portable chargers that we want to go over are ones that still have a lot of power capacity, but these also have powerful charging. Charging techs such as Quick Charge and USB-C or Power Delivery can give those with compatible devices a better charging edge. So let’s see what they have to offer.

Anker PowerCore+ 26800

It might seem hard to top the portable chargers that we just went over, but when you add in the use of Quick Charge then that can change quite a bit. That’s what it’s like with this PowerCore+ 26800 portable charger that is made of Aluminum.

It has three USB-A charging ports with two of them having a charging speed of 5V/3.0A and there’s a single Quick Charge port that can charge compatible devices at max power. Also, instead of using two Micro-USB input ports, this PowerCore+ charger uses just a single Micro-USB input port that uses Quick Charge and so it can charge faster when you use a Quick Charge USB wall charger.

Specs of the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 Portable Charger:

  • Capacity:         Advertised Capacity: 26,800mAh               Output Capacity: 22,400mAh
  • Output:

Standard Ports: 5V/3.0A

  • Input:

Micro-USB Input: 3.6V-6.5V/3A | 6.5V-9V/2A | 9V-12V/1.5A

  • LED Power Indicators: Ten-LED status system
  • Size: 7.1 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches
  • Weight: 1.3 Pounds

Aukey 30,000mAh Power Bank

On the other hand, Aukey also has its upgraded high capacity portable charger and that would be their 30,000mAh portable charger. Yes, they do indeed have a 30,000mAh portable charger, so you can use this charger to charge all your devices for about a week straight without needing it for a recharge.

Charging with this power bank is also great. That’s because it has three output ports and two input ports.

Two of the output ports are USB-A ports, with one using Quick Charge 3.0 and the other uses a 5V/2.4A charging speed. The third output of this charger is the USB-C port which can be used for charging USB-C compatible devices with a USB-C to USB-C charging cable; the USB-C port has a recharge rate of 5V/3.0A.

Recharging this 30,000mAh power bank can be done through either the USB-C port or the Micro-USB input port.

Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 PD

One main type of portable charger that we haven’t mentioned yet is power banks that feature Power Delivery. That’s what the future of charging is that it’s used with USB-C and offers powerful charging. Most newer smartphones use USB-C and lots of tablets and laptops such as the MacBook and the Chromebooks are using USB-C.

This PowerCore Speed 20000 Power Delivery charger from Anker is a great example of how Power Delivery can be utilized in a very helpful way.

That’s because it has a 20,000mAh power capacity which is quite good for either charging a smartphone or a laptop too. Along with its capacity, you get two charging ports, with one being a USB-A that has an output charging speed of 5V/2.0A.

The other port is, of course, the USB-C port which is the one that features the Power Delivery charging power. As the USB-C port on this charger has a 24W output. It can, therefore, charge Power Delivery compatible smartphones at their max charging speeds.

It can also charge USB-C compatible laptops at or near their max speed, which is very convenient when you consider that this is a portable charger that can do that.

Recharging this PowerCore Speed PD charger is also a great experience because you can also use Power Delivery when it comes to recharging it. The power bank even comes with a USB-C Power Delivery wall charger that you can use to recharge it at its max charging speed.

Specs of the Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 PD:

  • Capacity: 20,100mAh

  • Output:

Standard USB-A Port: 5V/2.0

Standard Input: 5V/2.0A

  • LED Power Indicator: Yes
  • Size: 6.5 x 2.4 x 0.9 inches
  • Weight: 1.3 Pounds

Aukey 26500mAh Power Delivery Portable Charger

Aukey also has its Power Delivery portable charger, and it has a 26,500mAh power capacity and so that’s enough power to charge a lot of different sized devices to their full power many times over.

The high capacity isn’t where it stops though, as this charger has three output ports which can be quite rare to see with a power bank that uses Power Delivery as most just have two ports.

This Aukey charger has two USB-A ports, with one using Quick Charge 3.0 and the other one has a standard charging speed of 5V/2.4A. The USB-C port on this power bank can deliver a charging speed of 30W which is slightly even more than the PowerCore Speed PD charger that we mentioned above.

Recharging with this power bank can be done through either the Micro-USB input port, which will give you a slow recharging rate.

Or you can opt to use the USB-C port for recharging this power bank and that’s a better option as you can recharge at Power Delivery speeds when you use a USB-C PD wall charger to recharge this power bank. The only downside to getting this power bank is that it doesn’t come with a USB-C Power Delivery wall charger but Aukey does sell one and we recommend this one.

Anker and Aukey Wall Chargers

Wall chargers are the most used types of charging electronics, and that can show by the number of reviews that wall chargers from Anker and Aukey have. Most wall chargers are bought from these two brands.

That’s why we brought together some of the most used and popular wall chargers and charging stations from these famous brands to see which base charging electronic you should purchase.

As wall chargers are more than just able to charge a single device because they can charge multiple devices at once, recharge power banks, and power wireless chargers too. So let’s see which ones you should consider getting.

Anker PowerPort 2 Wall Charger

Two-port wall chargers are among the most used types of wall chargers. Most of the time when we purchase new devices such as a smartphone or tablet, the device usually just comes with a single port wall charger. Having a single port with a wall charger can feel very limiting as you might want to charge various devices at once.

That’s why we’re starting with comparing 2-port wall chargers only.

Anker’s PowerPort 2 wall charger is one of the most well-known on the market when it does come to two-port wall charging and that’s because this wall charger is quite powerful. Both of its charging ports have a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the max output of this wall charger is 4.8A. This amount of charging power is present with most wall chargers and it’s a very good thing.

The use of a 4,8A max output means that this wall charger can use the max power of both of its ports at the same time. That said, PowerPort 2 does not feature Quick Charge but that’s okay for now as we’re mainly covering the simple wall chargers that each of the two brands sells.

In addition to being very powerful, the PowerPort 2 wall charger is also very portable as it has a retractable AC adapter that practically makes the entire wall charger a square; making it easier to just throw it inside a bag and not having it weight you down.

Specs of the Anker PowerPort 2:

  • Ports: 2
  • Quick Charge: No
  • Output: 2.4A Per Port | 4.8A Max Output
  • Protective Technology: Yes
  • Size: 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.1 inches
  • Weight: 4.6 ounces

Aukey 2-Port Wall Charger

Aukey’s premiere 2-port wall charger is also very much like Anker’s and that’s because each of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the max output of the charger is 4.8A. So you can use the max power of each of the ports are at the same time.

Perhaps the one that this Aukey wall charger dominates over the Anker PowerPort is the size, and that’s because this one is very tiny. It has only a length of 1.2 inches and the width of this charger is only 1.4 inches. It’s a cube when you fold the adapter into the wall charger.

Overall, if you want an even smaller wall charger than the Anker PowerPort 2 then Aukey is your best choice, but other than they’re both practically basically on the same footing.

  • Quick Charge: No
  • Output: 2.4A Per Port | 4.8A Max Output

Anker PowerPort 4/Aukey 4 Port Wall Charger

Going into the 4-port range with their wall chargers we find that things have not changed very much when it comes to chargers between Anker and Aukey.

The PowerPort 4 from Anker and Aukey’s 4-port wall charger each have their ports outputting 5V/2.4A. Also, the max output of each of these wall chargers is 8A. So you can’t use the max output of each of the ports at the same time, but you can, however, use each of the ports at the same time with them each being able to output a charging speed of 5V/2.0A.

Read Review for Anker PowerPort 4-Port USB Wall Charger

Specs of the Anker PowerPort 4-Port USB Wall Charger:

  • Output:

Max Output Capabilities: 8A

Max Output Per Port: 5V/2.4A

  • Input:
  • Quick Charge: No
  • LED Power Indicator: 1 Blue LED at the top of the Charging ports
  • Size: 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.1 inches
  • Weight: 3.2 Ounces

Also, each of them uses a retractable AC adapter making them very portable even with their four USB charging ports.

Going into the Quick Charging space with their wall chargers and things get changed a little. Anker has a 4-Port wall charger that uses Quick Charge, with one of the ports using Quick Charge.

Then there three other ports have a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. The max output of this wall charger is 8.7A, so higher than the base 4-port wall charger and it makes sense to do so as this one uses Quick Charge.

That said, Aukey does not have a 4-port wall charger that uses Quick Charge, and instead, they have a 3-port wall charger that uses Quick Charge. Even though you’re left with 3 ports, in this case, the max output with this wall charger is the same as the PowerPort 4 with the Quick Charge port, which is 43.5W.

Anker PowerPort 6 Charging Station/Aukey 6-Port Charging Station

6-Port charging stations might seem a little excessive but they exist for a reason and that would be because people can find a use for them. In this case, both Anker and Aukey have a 6-Port charging station and they’re the same.

Each of them has its ports outputting a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the max output of the charging station is 12A. So even if you’re using the max output, each of the ports can output 2 Amps each. Dimensions are quite similar too with each of them having a length of about 4 inches and a width of 3 inches.

Also, they both use an LED light to indicate that they’re plugged in and ready to be used. With the Anker charging station using a Blue light and the Aukey charging station using a Greenlight.

At the same time, both of the brands also have 6-port charging stations that also use Quick Charge. Anker using a 6-port charging station that uses a single Quick Charge 3.0 port. While Aukey has a 6-port charging station with two ports using Quick Charge which can be very helpful if you have 2 Quick Charge compatible devices that you want to charge at the same time.

That said, if you do want to stick with Anker, then you could purchase their PowerPort 5 Speed charging station that also uses two Quick Charge ports and three standard ports.

10 Port USB Charging Stations

Finally, there are 10-port charging stations. These are basically at the limit of what you’re likely going to purchase, as some of us simply don’t even have 10 devices to charge at once. At the same time, here we are with 10 port charging stations being sold.

Anker’s PowerPort 10 has each of its ports outputting 5V/2.4A, with a max output of 12A.

On the other hand, Aukey has a 10 port charging station that uses two Quick Charge ports and 8 other ports that each have a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. The max output of Aukey’s charging station is 14A, so it can be better to purchase Aukey’s charging station for its use of Quick Charge if you own a Quick Charge compatible device and also have a bunch of devices to charge at once.

Anker and Aukey Car Chargers

Car charging can be very helpful and not many people think so. The reason that we here at Charger Harbor value car chargers so much is because they can charge your smartphone while you drive and driving is something a lot of us do every day. Car chargers are great for those in-between times of life where you don’t have to be on your phone since you’re driving.

At the same time, you could be using your smartphone for navigation by using Google maps or other navigation apps that require a lot of power.

Running out of power while depending on your phone for reaching your destination can be very frustrating. That’s why we’re going to go over the car chargers that both Anker and Aukey have to decide which brand has the best car chargers for your needs.

2-Port Car Charger

The same deal with wall chargers, Anker and Aukey don’t put a lot of focus on single port car chargers. That said, Anker does have a 1-port car charger that uses a single Quick Charge USB port which makes quite a lot of sense, because if they’re just putting a single port on a car charger, then they’d as well make it as powerful as possible.

With that said, Anker has two main regular car chargers without Quick Charge and that seems strange as you might think it makes sense to have just a single 2-port car charger, and yet Anker has two 2-port car chargers that are equally powerful.

There’s the PowerDrive 2 and then there are the PowerDrive Elite 2 ports. Each of these car chargers has its ports outputting a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the max output of each of the car chargers is 4.8A.

Specs of the Anker PowerDrive 2 Car Charger:

  • # Of Ports: 2
  • Output:

Standard Ports: 5V/2.4A

Max Output: 4.8A

  • LED Power Indicators: None.
  • Size: 2.5 x 1.1 x 1.1 inches
  • Weight: 1 ounce

The main difference between the two car chargers is that the Elite car charger has more premium materials. Most notably the PowerDrive Elite car charger has a carbon-fiber mesh around the charging ports and makes it look a lot better than the regular PowerDrive 2.

At the same time, Anker also has a PowerDrive+ 2 car charger that has both of its USB charging ports using Quick Charge 3.0.

Therefore, you’re able to charge your Quick Charge compatible devices with two ports, and it still makes use of PowerIQ tech which is another way of saying that the ports can output 5V/2.4A too.

Aukey 2-Port Car Chargers

Aukey also has the same deal when it comes to 2-port car chargers as it has one flush-fit car charger that’s extremely small and then it has another one that’s regular-sized, meaning that the car charger has a piece that sticks out of the 12Volt outlet in your car.

Each of the two regular 2-port car chargers has their ports outputting 5V/2.4A and the max output of the car charger is 4.8A.

Specs of the Aukey 2-Port Car Charger:

  • # Of Ports: 2
  • Output:

Standard Ports: 5V/2.4A

Max Output: 4.8A

  • LED Power Indicators: None.
  • Size: 1.6 x 1 x 1 inches
  • Weight: 1 ounce

At the same time, Aukey has even more 2-port car chargers such as one with a Quick Charge port and a standard 2.4A port. They also have two car chargers that both use Quick Charge, but one has both of its ports using Quick Charge 3.0 and the other one has both of its ports using Quick Charge 2.0.

It doesn’t make much sense when you consider that Quick Charge 3.0 is backward compatible with Quick Charge 2.0 devices too.

3-Port Car Chargers

Going into the 3-port car charging range brings us Anker’s PowerDrive 3 car charger. There are no Quick Charge ports with this car charger and Anker does not have a 3-port car charger with Quick Charge anyway.

Each of the ports on this car charger has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the max output of the car charger is 7.2A. So you can use the max power of each of the ports at the same time.

Specs of the Anker PowerDrive 3 Car Charger:

  • # Of Ports: 3
  • Output:

Standard Ports: 5V/2.4A

Max Output: 7.2A

  • LED Power Indicators: None.
  • Size: 2.9 x 1.9 x 1.4 inches
  • Weight: 4.8 ounces

Aukey has two main 3-port car chargers with one being a car charger that has 3 charging ports with one of the ports using Quick Charge 3.0. The one other 3-port car charger they have uses USB-C as one of its ports and therefore you can charge some USB-C compatible smartphones at their max speed with the USB-C port when you use a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and so the port can output 5V/3.0A.

Specs of the Aukey 3-Port Car Charger:

  • # Of Ports: 3
  • Output:

Standard Ports: 5V/2.4A

Quick Charge Port: 3.6V-6.5V/3A | 6.5V-9V/2A | 9V-12V/1.5A

  • LED Power Indicators: None.
  • Size: 2.4 x 1.2 x 1.2 inches
  • Weight: 5.8 ounces

4-Port Car Chargers

pic-1

The final type of car chargers that we wanted to go over is 4-port car chargers. Anker has two 4-port car chargers. One is their PowerDrive 4 car charger that has four standard USB charging ports and each of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. The max output of the PowerDrive 4 is 9.6A, which means that you can use each of the ports at their max power at the same time.

Anker also has its PowerDrive+ 4 car charger that uses both a USB-C port and also a Quick Charge 3.0 port. It’s a better pick if you’re someone that can make use of the fast charging tech that USB-C and Quick Charge have to offer.

Aukey has the same thing going on with their two 4-port car chargers with their being a standard Aukey 4-port car charger that has the same specs as the Anker PowerDrive 4, which is having each of the ports output 2.4A and the max output is 9.6A. Aukey also has a 4-port car charger that uses a Quick Charge 3.0 port with one of its 4-ports on its car charger.
