There are two main fast charging technologies on the market and they’re known as Quick Charge and Power Delivery. Quick Charge is quite common among Android smartphones and that’s mainly because most Android smartphones are compatible with Quick Charge. Quick Charge is also used with many charging electronics on the market and you’re able to find a charger that uses the fast charging tech quite easily and this is true for wall chargers, portable chargers, and car chargers, too.

However, as useful as Quick Charge is, it’s not a universal fast charging solution and that’s because the fast charging tech can only be used with devices that use the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor and it’s basically impossible that every portable device would use the Qualcomm’s processor just to use Quick Charge. That’s why the alternative and more universal solution for fast charging is USB-C Power Delivery.

Power Delivery is the fast charging technology that’s used with the new standard of connectivity and charging that is USB-C. Many of the portable devices that we each day are now starting to use USB-C, such as new Android smartphones are now using a USB-C port instead of the more common Micro-USB input. Many Android tablets are now using USB-C, and so are many laptops. Such as the Apple MacBook now uses USB-C Power Delivery charging, and if you own a USB-C laptop and a USB-C smartphone then you can very well use the same Power Delivery charger to charge both of those devices.

Power Delivery fast charging is so universal is that it’s also used with the iPhone X and iPhone 8, both of which use a Lightning port, but all you need is a USB-C to Lightning charging cable to use a USB-C Power Delivery charger with them. To start off with, this is Aukey’s 2-port Power Delivery wall charger that uses a USB-C Power Delivery port and it also has a Quick Charge USB-A port. The charging speed of the USB-C Power Delivery port is 46W, and that’s quite a lot faster than what most Power Delivery chargers tend to have. Aukey 3-port 60W USB-C Power Delivery Desktop Charging Station

This is another one of Aukey’s Power Delivery chargers but this one is a desktop charging station and that’s because instead of it using a built-in AC adapter it has a power cord. This can actually be better because you have more freedom about where you want to place your charger. There are a total of three charging ports on this charger. There are two USB-A ports that each have a 5V/2.4A charging rate, and then there’s the USB-C Power Delivery port that has a 60W charging rate, a whole lot faster than the regular 30W charging rate that most Power Delivery chargers tend to have.

With a 60W PD charging speed, you’re able to charge certain compatible USB-C PD laptops that won’t charge at 30W, such as the Dell XPS 13 that requires that you use 45W Power Delivery charger. Or the Dell XPS 15 that requires that you use 60W PD charging speed.

Also, since the max output of this charger is 72W, you can use the max power of all the ports at the same time, since there’s 60W reserved for the USB-C port, and 12W is shared between the two USB-A ports.
