Best Car Chargers for iPhone XS / XS Max / iPhone XR

(Last Updated On: September 19, 2018)

With the release of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XR, it’s quite clear that it’s more of an increment upgrade from last year’s iPhone X. Sure, the iPhone XS and XS Max are more powerful and the Max version is quite large with a few improvements with the camera, but overall, what you’re getting is basically a small upgrade. The iPhone XR, on the other hand, is basically a regular iPhone that’s more on the affordable side, with having a less powerful processor and it also makes use of an LCD screen instead of an OLED.

If theirs one thing that all the new iPhones feature that is very welcoming, it would be that they’re all Power Delivery compatible. So you’re able to fast charge with Power Delivery charging electronics. Unfortunately, for some reason, Apple does not include a Power Delivery wall charger with their iPhones, and that is such a large disappointment.

However, in this case, we’re talking about car chargers that you can use to charge your iPhone XS and XR at their max charging speed. Each of the car chargers in this guide feature Power Delivery for fast charging your phone while you’re driving. Something to know before you read any further is that when it comes to fat charging your iPhone with a USB-C port, you’re going to need a USB-C to Lightning charging cable. As the new iPhones also still uses Apple’s proprietary Lightning port.

CHOETECH 18W 3-Port Power Delivery Car Charger

When it comes to fast charging your iPhone Power Delivery, the USB-C port should have an 18W charging speed, and nothing lower. If you’re charging it with a regular 15W USB-C port then your iPhone will not fast charge. For the first car charger that we’re recommending, this is the CHOETECH car charger that makes use of three ports.

The USB-C Power Delivery port has the perfect amount of charging with it using 18W of charging power. So you can fast charge any Power Delivery compatible smartphone with it. Charging larger devices that are also Power Delivery compatible is also possible such as a USB-C compatible MacBook, but other than that, it’s best to rely on the USB-C port to charge smartphones.

There are also two USB-A ports on the car charger that each share a 12W charging speed. This car charger does not feature Quick Charge with either of the USB-A ports, but the good news is that the max output of this CHOETECH car charger is 30W. Which means that you can use the full power of all the ports at the same time.
