Best Chargers for Dell XPS 13, XPS 15 in 2024

(Last Updated On: December 30, 2023)

USB-C is emerging as the universal charging standard for many devices, including smartphones, tablets, and, increasingly, laptops. This standard is gaining prominence across various brands and device sizes. Specifically, Dell’s popular laptops, the XPS 15 and XPS 13, utilize USB-C Power Delivery ports for charging. While USB-C’s universality is a significant advantage, choosing the right charger for these Dell laptops is crucial. They require specific charging power due to their high power consumption, underscoring the need for compatibility and adequate power output in the selected chargers.

VOLTME 100W 3 Port Charger

The first charger I want to recommend is this VOLTME 100W charger. So, the charger has a 100W max output, and you can use the total 100W of Power Delivery when charging a single device from USB-C 1 or USB-C 2. Using 100W of PD can charge your Dell XPS 13 or 15 at a faster charging speed. When charging multiple devices simultaneously, you should always have your Dell XPS charging from the USB-C 1 port because the USB-C 1 port is prioritized for faster charging.

If you’re charging two devices from the two USB-C ports, the C-1 port will output 65W, while the C-2 port will output 30W; a 65W charge rate is slower but still able to charge your Dell XPS laptop. Charging three devices results in the USB-C 3 port outputting 65W, while the USB-C 2 and the USB-A ports output 12W each. So fast charging other devices while you charge your XPS laptop when charging three devices is not possible; your laptop is the only device that will fast charge. UGREEN Nexode 140W 3 Port Charger

The most optimal type of charger you can use for charging a laptop and fast charging other devices simultaneously is a 140W charger. This UGREEN Nexode charger has a 140W max output, and you can use the total 140W of Power Delivery when charging a single device from USB-C 1, while the USB-C 2 port has a 100W output. You can get a fast charge rate for your XPS 13 or 15 from either of the USB-C ports if you’re only charging your laptop.

The best part of 140W chargers is that even when charging two devices simultaneously from the USB-C ports, each can output 65W of power delivery. This lets you charge two XPS laptops simultaneously, although it will be slower. The USB-A port on this UGREEN charger always has a 22.5W output, no matter how many devices you charge.

If you’re charging three devices simultaneously, the USB-C 1 output is still 65W, but the USB-C 2 port output is 45W; in this case, I recommend charging your Dell XPS from the USB-C 1 port. This UGREEN charger includes a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. Learn more about this high-powered charger by reading my comprehensive review article or watching the video review.

Unitek 140W 3 Port Charger

One other 140W charger I wanted to recommend is this Unitek 140W charger. This is practically the same as the UGREEN charger that I mentioned. This charger also has a 140W max output. A difference is that you can use the total 140W of Power Delivery from USB-C 1 or USB-C 2 when charging one device. The USB-A port on this charger is a tad bit weaker with an 18W output.

You get the same 65W of Power Delivery output when charging two devices simultaneously from the USB-C ports. So you get a faster charging speed for your XPS laptop when charging it alone and a slightly slower charge rate when charging two devices.

Like the UGREEN charger, this Unitek charger also has a 65W output from USB-C 1 and a 45W output from USB-C 2 when charging three devices simultaneously. This Unitek charger comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable. For a deeper understanding of this charger, check out my detailed review article or watch the video review.

MOMAX 100W 4 Port Desktop Charger

A desktop charger can be handy if you want the same charging power that a wall charger offers but also a power cord; a power cord makes it easier to place the charger where you want. This MOMAX desktop charger has a 100W max output and features two USB-C and USB-A ports. You can use 100W of Power Delivery when charging a single device from USB-C 1 or 2.

If you’re charging two devices simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port outputs 65W, while the USB-C 2 port outputs 30W. The main thing to know when charging four devices simultaneously is always charging your Dell XPS 13 or 15 from the USB-C 1 port because it will have a 45W PD charging speed. Find out more about this desktop charger in my review article, or watch my video review for additional details.

NOVOO 67W 2 Port Charger

On the more minimal side is this NOVOO 67W 2 port charger. The charger has a USB-C and a USB-A port. You can use 67W of Power Delivery when charging a single device from the USB-C port. The other port is a USB-A port, and if you’re charging two devices simultaneously, the USB-C port outputs 45W while the USB-A port outputs 18W.

So, if you want faster charging, I recommend charging your Dell XPS laptop alone via USB-C but know that you will get a slower charge rate when charging two devices. This NOVOO charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. Explore the capabilities of this compact charger in my full review article or through the video review.

UGREEN Nexode 45W 2 Port Charger

One other UGREEN charger I want to recommend is this UGREEN 45W charger. This is a very simple and low-powered one. The charger has a 45W max output and two USB-C ports. You can use the full 45W of Power Delivery when charging a single device, and it does not matter what port you’re charging from; that is the only time you can charge your Dell XPS laptop from this charger.

That’s because dual charging gives the charger a 20W and 25W power split. So this may not have the most power, but this UGREEN charger can be useful if you need to charge your XPS laptop in a pinch but also want the option for fast charging two phones simultaneously. Baseus 65W 20,000mAh Power Bank

The power bank you use to charge your Dell XPS 13 or XPS 15 should have enough power and battery capacity. This Baseus power bank has a 65W Power Delivery USB-C port. However, only 65W of Power Delivery can be used when charging a single device from the power bank. The other two output ports are USB-A Quick Charge on the power bank.

If you’re charging two devices simultaneously, the USB-C output becomes 45W, slower than single-port charging. Then, if you’re charging three devices simultaneously from this Baseus power bank, the USB-C PD output becomes 20W and the two USB-A ports output 5W. So, charging three devices simultaneously would make the USB-C port unable to charge your Dell XPS laptop.

Regarding recharging, I recommend using the USB-C port to recharge the power bank at 60W. The 20,000mAh battery capacity of this Baseus power bank can charge your Dell XPS laptop to full power at least once. Read my review article to understand how this power bank can benefit your Dell XPS.

Baseus 65W USB-C Car Charger

Charging your Dell XPS laptop is possible with this Baseus 65W car charger. The max output of the car charger is 65W, and if you’re charging a single device from the USB-C port, you can charge your XPS laptop at 65W of Power Delivery; however, if you’re charging two devices, the USB-C port outputs 45W, while the USB-A port outputs 18W; dual charging will make your Dell XPS laptop charge slower, but it will still charge. Included in the box is a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. Refer to my in-depth review article for more information on this car charger.
