The Essential Phone does in fact NOT use Quick Charge and this isn’t too much of a bad thing and that’s because it uses Power Delivery. Power Delivery is used with USB-C charging and it’s a more powerful method of charging.

Essential made a better choice with using Power Delivery because it’s going to be the more standard method of charging across nearly all portable devices in the future.

So if you’re having trouble with what the best chargers are to use for the Essential phone, as we’ve brought together all the types of chargers that are best to purchase. Most of these chargers use Power Delivery and therefore you’re able to charge your phone at its max charging speed.

That said, it’s important to own a USB-C to USB-C charging cable to charge your phone at its max charging speed as that’s the only way to take advantage of PD charging.

Best Portable Chargers for the Essential PH-1 Smartphone

Using a portable charger with your smartphone is a great idea and that’s because you never know how much you’re going to be using your phone while you’re out and about.

That said, chances are that you’re going to be using your phone a lot and as a result, the battery is going to run out very quickly and that can leave you with a dead phone.

Three Ports to Use

There are a total of three ways to charge your devices with this power bank. The first two ways are the two USB-A charging ports. You have one port that uses Quick Charge 3.0 and then you have another port that has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A.

The third output port is the USB-C port that has a charging speed of 5V/3.0A and that’s basically the charging speed that most USB-C ports without PD have. It’s not quite Power Delivery charging, but at the same time, it’s faster than 2.4 Amp charging with USB-A charging ports.
