Best Chargers for Lenovo Yoga C940

(Last Updated On: March 16, 2021)

Charging for the Lenovo Yoga C940 is one of the laptop’s best parts, as it uses a USB-C port for charging. The use of a USB-C port for charging makes it convenient over a DC port because, at this point, there are many USB-C Power Delivery chargers on the market. You don’t have to use a DC charging brick anymore, and instead, you can opt for a wall charger with a foldable plug that is as powerful as the charger that comes with your Yoga C940.

That said, getting a third-part USB-C Power Delivery charger to charge your Yoga C940 laptop is a difficult task, as many users over at Reddit have tried a few PD chargers but have had no success with charging their C940. That’s why in this guide, we’re covering chargers that you can use for the Lenovo Yoga C940, and just something to know first is that you should have a cable that can support 100W of Power Delivery charging, as that’s one of the main reasons why a USB-C charger doesn’t charge a laptop.

The chargers in this guide aren’t just going to be wall chargers, though, as we’re also covering portable chargers and car chargers.

Aukey Omnia 100W UBS-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

We’re starting this guide strong with this Aukey Omnia 100W Power Delivery wall charger. The charger only has a single 100W PD port, but with this port, you’re able to charge most USB-C chargeable devices, as most USB-C chargeable devices use PD lower than 100W. Also, yes, you can fast charge smartphones with this charger, and it will not damage them as charging power is adjusted no matter what you’re charging. Just a reminder, though, since the charger can output 100W, you should use a 100W compatible USB-C to USB-C cable when it comes to charging your Lenovo laptop to get optimal power.

RAVPower 65W USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

Going on the Dual USB-C Power Delivery port side, there’s this 65W RAVPower wall charger. Each of the two USB-C ports can output 65W, so if you’re looking to charge your Yoga C940, you can use either of the ports to do so when charging two devices simultaneously. The port that charging the larger or power-needing device gets the faster charging speed. In our tests for this RAVPower wall charger, we charged a Lenovo Flex 5 and fast charged a Google Pixel at the same time.

The charger itself is tiny as it uses GaN tech that makes the charger smaller; it also has a foldable plug. Included in the box is a USB-C to USB-C cable.

CIO 3-Port 100W USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

If you want to have multiple USB-C ports to charge from simultaneously, this CIO wall charger is a great one and a rare one, as there aren’t many other wall chargers that use three USB-C Power Delivery ports. The charger’s max output is 100W, and depending on how many devices you’re charging and from what port, you’re able to get different charging speeds.

Just to put it plainly, though, the first two USB-C Power Delivery ports are the more powerful ports, and if you’re looking to charge your Lenovo Yoga C940, then we recommend either using USB-C 1 or USB-C 2 at all times. With the first two ports outputting 65W of charging power if you’re charging two devices simultaneously. However, if you’re charging three devices simultaneously, then the first two USB-C PD ports downgrade to a 45W charging speed, while USB-C 3 gets 30W, and there is a USB-A port that features Quick Charge 3.0 that outputs 18W.

The charger itself is somewhat unusual to look at, as there are very few PD wall chargers with three USB-C ports. However, we’re not complaining as the wall charter has a foldable plug and is very easy to be portable with as you’re not dealing with a power cord.

Baseus 65W USB-C GaN Power Delivery Wall Charger

On the more simple side of a multi-port USB-C wall charger, there’s this Baseus 65W wall charger that has much easier-to-understand charging. The first USB-C Power Delivery port can output 65W, which can charge your Lenovo Yoga C940 at its max charging speed only if you’re charging a single device with the wall charger. While charging from USB-C 1, connecting another device into USB-C 2 will lower USB-C 1 charge rate to 45W, while USB-C 2 outputs an 18W charging speed. The bottom USB-A port features Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging compatible Android smartphones.

If you’re charging from all three ports simultaneously, USB-C 1 outputs 45W, while 15W is shared between USB-C 2 and the USB-A port.

The charger has a cube shape, an unusual shape that most wall chargers don’t have; however, it prevents the charger from covering surrounding outlets when you plug it in.

RAVPower 90W Dual GaN USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

One other wall charger we wanted to recommend is another RAVPower wall charger. This one is similar to the first RAVPower charger that we mentioned, with it featuring two USB-C PD ports. However, this one has a 90W max output, and you’re able to use the 90W USB-C Power Delivery charging speed if you’re charging a single device. Or you can charge two devices simultaneously, and each of the USB-C ports will output 45W, which means that you can charge two Yoga C940 laptops at the same time with this charger.

The charger does include a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box.

Excitrus 65W 9,600mAh 45W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

Using a power bank with your Lenovo Yoga C940 may be the best ways to charge it; even better than a wall charger as you don’t have to find an outlet to plug the charger into. Instead, a power bank can go with you anywhere. However, you have to be sure that the power bank has the right amount of power capacity to charge up your Lenovo laptop. This Excitrus power bank is a rare portable charger as it has a 9,600mAh power capacity, yet it has a 45W USB-C Power Delivery port. Most power banks with this much power from a PD port have higher power capacities, and power banks in this capacity range usually only have an 18W of Power Delivery charging.

A 9,600mAh power capacity is an “Okay” amount for charging the Yoga C940 with a 7,792mAh battery. The power bank won’t get the laptop charged up to full power, but it can give you power that lasts for the rest of the day. There are also three ports to use, with the power bank featuring a 45W USB-C port, a USB-A Quick Charge port, and a standard 12W port.

Since the charger has such a low power capacity, it’s also tiny and able to fit into your pocket.

RAVPower 30,000mAh 90W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

On the opposite side of getting a power bank for your Yoga C940, there’s this RAVPower portable charger that has a 30,000mAh power capacity. A 30,000mAh power capacity is a lot of power for charging up the Lenovo Yoga C940 as it can charge the laptop to full power about two times, giving you less worry about having to recharge the power bank sooner.

The charging from this RAVPower charger can be done via a 90W USB-C Power Delivery port or a USB-A Quick Charge 3.0 port. Yes, a 90W USB-C PD port allows you to charge your Lenovo laptop at its max charging speed no matter where you are. Even while you’re charging two devices simultaneously, the USB-C PD port lowers to 65W, still lots of power.

You can recharge the power bank at 60W with a powerful enough PD wall charger, but you have to provide your own. The power bank does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable, though.
