Best Power Banks for Microsoft Surface Go 2 in 2024

(Last Updated On: January 10, 2024)

The first Microsoft Surface Go was a notable portable computer due to its small, practical design. It required a separate type cover, and the 8GB model offered an excellent compact computing experience. The Surface Go 2 improves upon this with a faster 8th gen Intel Core M3 processor and a screen with slimmer bezels for a more open feel. Like its predecessor, it features a USB-C port for connectivity and charging.

However, the persistence of the Surface Connect port is a drawback; ideally, it would be replaced by additional USB-C ports. Including a USB-C port simplifies charging, especially with a Power Delivery charger, making it more convenient for a portable device like the Surface Go 2.

This guide will focus on power banks suitable for the Surface Go 2, which retains the original’s 3,411mAh battery. We will emphasize high-capacity power banks and those with 18W or higher Power Delivery charging speed, as lower speeds are inefficient for charging the Surface.

Baseus 65W 20,000mAh Power Bank

The first power bank I recommend is this Baseus 65W 20,000mAh power bank. The charger’s 20,000mAh battery capacity can charge the Surface Go 2 to full power about four times if that’s the only device you use to charge from this Baseus power bank. Charging power is enough to fast charge the Surface from its USB-C port because when you’re charging a single device at a time, the USB-C port can output 65W Power Delivery; when dual charging, the USB-C port outputs 45W, and if you’re charging three devices at the same time the USB-C port outputs 20W.

I recommend charging your Surface Go alone with this power bank or if you have one other device charging simultaneously. Charging three devices at the same time may slow down your charge rate. For an in-depth analysis, read my review article.

Baseus Blade 100W PD Power Bank

Another Baseus power bank I wanted to recommend is this Baseus Blade; this one may be overboard for recommending for the Surface Go 2 because it has a 100W Power Delivery output from either of its USB-C ports. You can fast charge your Surface at max speed and use this power bank to fast charge any USB-C chargeable laptops you own or will own. The Blade power bank also has two USB-A Quick Charge ports and a screen at the top shows the charging capacity, voltage, and amperage. Check out my review article or video review of the Baseus Blade 100W PD Power Bank for more details.

UGREEN 145W 25,000mAh Power Bank

The UGREEN 145W power bank is one of the most powerful power banks I have ever reviewed. The charger has a 25,000mAh battery capacity and much power to keep your Surface Go charged up for a few days without recharging the power bank. This power bank has two USB-C Power Delivery ports; the C-1 can output 100W of Power Delivery, and the C-2 port can output 45W of Power Delivery. You can use both C-1 and two at their max power simultaneously; this means you can fast charge your Surface Go from the C-2 port while potentially charging another laptop from C-1.

ROMOSS PEA30 30,000mAh Power Bank

The ROMOSS PEA30 power bank has a massive 30,000mAh battery capacity that can keep your Surface Go charged up for a few days, and you can use this much power to charge other devices to full power, too. The ROMOSS power bank also has a 30W Power Delivery USB-C port to charge your Surface Go. Recharging is accessible within three input pots. However, I recommend using the USB-C port to recharge the power bank because it has the fastest 30W recharge rate.

INIU 65W 25,000mAh Power Bank

This INIU power bank has a 65W Power Delivery USB-C port that can fast charge your Surface Go; you can use the 30W USB-C port on the power bank. The 25,000mAh battery capacity is the same as that of other power banks I’ve recommended in this guide, so you can depend on the power bank for a few days without recharging it. You get a USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to USB-A charging cable in the box.

Statik 65W Power Bank

This Statik power bank is interesting because it has a 65W Power Delivery USB-C port, but you can only use the 65W Power Delivery if you’re charging one device at a time. If you’re charging any more than one device, then the out of this power bank becomes 15W only. So you can charge your Surface Go from this power bank alone when it has enough power. The charger has a 20,000mAh battery, so it is adequate for charging the Surface Go a few times. Explore the details in my review article or video on the Statik 65W Power Bank.

MOMAX 10,000mAh 20W Power Bank

One other power bank that I wanted to recommend is the MOMAX 20W power bank. Yes, this power bank is more meant for charging phones, but it can still be useful for charging your Surface in a pinch with its 10,000mAh battery. The 20W of Power Delivery can charge your Surface Go, maybe not at max speed, but it can get the job done. The main reason for this MOMAX power bank is its small, slim, and lightweight form factor that can slide right into your pocket.
