Best USB-C Power Delivery Car Chargers

(Last Updated On: July 31, 2018)

Fast charging, when combined with car chargers basically makes car chargers the most useful types of charging electronic that you can use. The reason for that is because when you’re not using your device and charging it, your portable device, smartphone, tablet or laptop are able to charge at their fastest speed, as the charging speed doesn’t have to slow down to prevent overheating the device. So if you do have a device that is compatible Power Delivery or Quick Charge, then owning a car charger that uses either of two fast charging technologies is definitely the way to go.

However, in this guide, we’re going to be going over Power Delivery car chargers. Power Delivery is more of the universal fast charging technology that’s not only compatible and used with smartphones, but it’s also usable with USB-C compatible laptops and also laptops on the market. This basically means that you can use the same car charger that you would use to charge your smartphone with, to also charge your laptop. How cool is that?

Some of the car chargers within this guide are really only best for charging your smartphone, while others are actually able to charge the USB-C Power Delivery compatible laptop at quite a fast charging speed.

Meagoes 18W USB-C Power Delivery Car Charger with Quick Charge

The first Power Delivery car charger that we have to recommend doesn’t feature the most powerful Power Delivery charging speed, but it’s still very useful for charging Power Delivery compatible smartphones. There are two ports on this charger. One port is, of course, the USB-C Power Delivery port and the PD charging rate is 18W. The other port is a USB-A port one that features Quick Charge 3.0 and so you can fast charge Quick Charge compatible smartphones at their max charging speed.

The 18W of charging power from the Power Delivery port is basically where Power Delivery charging starts and it’s with this amount of charging power that you’re able to charge all Power Delivery compatible smartphones at their max charging speed. Just to name a few smartphones that use the fast charging tech: the Galaxy S8, Google Pixel 2, Essential Phone and even the iPhone X and iPhone 8 are compatible with the Power Delivery charging tech. Yes, we know that the iPhone X and the iPhone 8 use a Lightning port, so in order to use a USB-C port with them, you have to use a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.

As for charging USB-C compatible tablet and laptops, well, the USB-C port can fair well with charging laptops and it can charge a USB-C MacBook faster than a standard 15W USB-C port would. That said, the USB-C port on this car charger is really best for charging smartphones, as there are more powerful USB-C laptops on the market that require that you use a higher powered USB-C port.
