Portable jump starters come with all sorts of peak currents and other side features. The peak current of a jump start dictates if it’s worth getting or not. The higher the current, the better because you have a higher chance of jump-starting your car. I’m looking at this HOPCREW 6000A portable jump starter in this review.

Yes, this is a 6000A peak current jump starter, and with it, you can jump-start nearly any 12V battery vehicle. So let’s take a closer look at what it can do.

Battery Capacity

The HOPCREW H6 jump starter has a 32,000mAh battery capacity, and that’s a ton of power. Most jump starters, in general, have a 20,000mAh battery. So if you’re solely using this device to jump-start your battery, which would only be occasionally, then you’ll be able to get about thirty or more jump starts.

Regarding charging devices, the 32,000mAh battery is still a lot, and since this jump starter features a 60W USB-C PD port, you can use it to charge laptops. The capacity will be enough to charge a laptop to full power at least once and can easily charge phones with capacity to spare for jump-starting.

Overall, there is a lot of power to use.

Charging Ports

This jump starter has a 60W USB-C Power Delivery port, a USB-A port, and a DC barrel port. The USB-C PD port can output 60W, enough to charge most UBS-C chargeable laptops and fast charge most tablets and phones. The USB-A port features 18W of Quick Charge.

For my testing, I could charge my Lenovo laptop at about 35W from the USB-C PD port and fast charge my Galaxy Note 9 from the USB-A port.

The DC barrel port can output 120W, and most consumers won’t find a purpose for it. However, the good news is that a DC barrel-to-car socket adapter is included in the box. With the adapter, you can power appliances that can be powered from a car socket outlet, and that’s what made the DC port usable for me.

In my case, I powered a cooler using the included adapter within a DC port, and it worked perfectly. I could also power the cooler without problems, and the DC port would also be useful for powering a portable tire pump. That said, you have to make sure that the tire pump fits into the 120W output of the DC port on this jump starter.

Jump Starting

The 6000A peak current jump starting power can be used with ANY Gas or Diesel engine vehicle with a 12V battery. Some lower peak current jump starters have certain ranges for Gas or Diesel engines that they can jump-start, but this one does not. For the most part, I think you’ll be alright by just connecting the clamps to a weak battery, waiting for the screen to read “Ready,” and then starting your car.

However, if you have a completely dead battery, an override feature can fully output as much power to a battery so you can jump-start your car.

A 6000A peak is a lot of power, one of the highest I’ve seen, so if you want to make sure you can jump-start your car, this type won’t let you down.

Recharging

The great part about recharging this jump starter is that it has a 60W PD wall charger and USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. So you can immediately begin recharging the unit at its max 60W recharging speed right out of the box.

Size and Design

The HOPCREW H6 jump starter is decent; of course, with a 6000A peak current and a 32,000mAh battery capacity, this will be larger and heavier than most other jump starters. The jump starter does have a length of 9 inches, a width of 4 inches, and a height of 7 inches if you’re counting the handle. The unit weighs about 6 pounds.

So I wouldn’t consider it a large device for what it is, and it being large doesn’t matter because you’re mainly going to be storing this in your car, and even then, it won’t be taking up much space. Also, you get an EVA case for the jump starter in the box that can fit all the accessories.

When it comes to features on the jump starter itself, at the front is where you get the screen that shows the battery capacity, there is a main power button to turn on the jump starter, there is a flashlight button that you have to hold down to turn on 400 Lumen LED flashlight, and it has a constant on mode, a flashing mode, and an SOS mode. The flashlight is a nice touch, and at 400 Lumens, it will be pretty helpful if you jump-start your car at night.

Also at the front is a jump start button that you can use to engage the override function, which allows the jump starter to put out as much power as possible. This override function is meant to be used for completely dead batteries, as I mentioned in the jump-starting section of this review.

Also, at the front of the jump starter are the charging ports that can be found under a covering. Off to the right is where the jump starter port is located.

Conclusion

The HOPCREW 6000A peak current jump starter is incredibly powerful because it has such a high peak current that it can jump-start any Gas or Diesel engine vehicle that uses a 12V battery. This much power can work with even the weakest batteries, and even if you have a completely dead battery, an override function covers that, too. The charging ports are also a pretty good highlight, with a 60W USB-C Power Delivery port and a USB-A Quick Charge report.

Including a 60W PD wall charger and a UBS-C to USB-C cable is pretty awesome and is what I expected at this price range. It’s a solid unit, and I recommend it.
