          Pros

          • Features Power Delivery & Quick Charge
          • Makes use of Three Input Ports
          • Can be Placed into a Pocket

          Cons

          • Power Delivery has 18W of Charging power which is really only useful for fast charging Power Delivery compatible smartphones

The most known fast charging technology on the market is Quick Charge. As many smartphones make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, they usually just make use of Quick CHarge.

That said, Quick Charge is a proprietary fast charging technology and is really only usable for Andriod smartphones and nothing else. There isn’t anything exactly universal about Quick Charge, as you can’t use it with laptops

However, USB-C Power Delivery is unvieral as it follows the USB-C standard of connectivy and charging. That’s the reason why so many devices are starting to use USB-C, take the 2018 iPad Pro that now makes use of USB-C.

That’s why we’re reviewing this Aukey 10,000mAh power bank that makes use of USB-C Power Delivery and Quick Charge.

          Power

          Power Capacity:

This is a mid-range power bank as it has a 10,000mAh power capacity. Let’s just see how much of the capacity you’re really able to use though.

          3.7 x 10,000 = 37,000 / 5 = 7,400

So the actual amount of capacity that you’re really able to use from this charger is about 7,000mAh. However, since you’re getting this power bank to use the fast charging such as Quick Charge or Power Delivery, then you might receive less than that.

The reason for that is because fast charging speeds make the conversion of energy worse from the power bank to your device.

So you might receive 6,000mAh of output capacity. So overall, the power bank is really meant for charging smartphones to full power about once or twice.

If you want to charge a tablet, that can also be done, but it’ll take the entire power capacity or most of it to charge a tablet.

          Output Charging:

There are two output ports to charge from with this power bank.

There’s a USB-A port that makes use of Quick Charge, so you can fast charge Quick Charge compatible Andriod smartphones. Such as the Galaxy Note 8, Note 9, Galaxy S9, LG V40 ThinQ and a bunch of other Quick Charge compatible smartphones on the market.

The other output port is the USB-C Power Delivery port that has an 18W charging speed.

          Power Delivery for Smartphones

This Power Deliver port is really only designed for fast charging Power Delivery compatible smartphones like the iPhone XS, Googel Pixel and other PD smartphones.

You can charge a Power Delivery compatible USB-C MacBook, but it won’t charge at its max charging speed, and it’s not really worth it with this power bank.

To fast charge an iPhone XS with a USB-C port you have to use a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.

          Input Charging:

To recharge this power bank, there are surprisingly three ways to go about doing it.

          Three Ways to Recharge

That’s because there’s a Lightning input port, a Micro-USB input, and also the USB-C port can also be used as an input port.

The Lightning port and the USB-C port have the same fast recharging speeds of 18W.

While the Micro-USB port has a slower recharging speed of 10W.

So if you want to recharge this power bank at its max charging speed, then we recommend that you either use a Power Delivery or Quick Charge wall charger.

          Design

          Size and Weight:

The size of this power bank is immediately the best thing after its powering capabilities.

That’s because this charger has a length of 4.2 inches, a width of 2.7 inches, and a thickness of 0.9 inches. The weight of the power bank is 8.2 Ounces.

So it’s practically a mini power bank that has a mid-range capacity.

          Functional Components:

Using this power bank very simple as all the usable parts are practically in a single spot.

The USB-A, USB-C and Lightning port are on a single side, along with the Four Green LED power capacity indicators.

The Micro-USB input port is found on one side, and then on the opposite side is where you’ll find the power button.

          Build

          Structure and Material:

The build quality of this power bank is great even though it’s made of plastic. Everything is put together well, and even though it’s not a rugged power bank, it sure feels like one.

          Tech:

The power bank doesn’t overheat during charging, even when you’re using teh fast charging from Quick Charge or Power Delivery.

          Reliability

The reliability of this power bank is great if you have either a Power Delivery or Quick Charge compatible smartphone.

What makes it even more reliable is that you can charge it through one of three input ports. Also, it’s the size of a mini power bank and you’ll have no problems taking it anywhere.

          Summary:

          Power:

The power bank makes use of Power Delivery and Quick Charge tech. The Power Delivery on this power bank is most useful for Power Delivery compatible smartphones, and not really for laptops or tablets.

          Design:

Even with its use of Power Delivery and Quick Charge, and three input ports, this power bank has the size of a mini power bank. So you’re able to fit the charger into a pocket quite easily.

          Build:

The build quality of this power bank is great even though it’s made of plastic and it feels solid in the hands.

          Reliability:

It’s a great power bank to get if you have a Quick Charge or Power Delivery compatible smartphone. This is also a reliable power bank for iPhone XS users as this power bank makes use of a Lightning input port, which is quite rare for power banks to feature.
