Most Powerstrips that have USB charging ports usually have just 4 charging ports and that’s already enough as we’ve seen with Anker’s Powerstrip that has 4 USBc charging ports, as well as Aukey’s Powerstrip that also has 4 USB charging ports.

Having charging ports directly on a PowerStrip practically erases the need of using a wall charger because the wall charger is built into the PowerStrip itself. With that said, now that PowerStrip with USB charging ports is becoming normal, there are more advancements that are happening to them.

In this case, it’s this Aukey PowreStrip that has 8 AC Outlets and 6 USB charging ports. That’s basically like having a 6 port wall charger built into the PowerStrip and what’s makes this even better is that one of the USB charging ports has Quick Charge 3.0.

Power

Output Charging:

It’s a powerful and highly capable Powerstrip that is perfect for powering your appliances and charging your devices.

There are 8 3-prong AC Outlets and the Max power that it can provide is 1875 Watts and that’s enough power to lots of appliances at once. Also, the Input of the PowerStrip is AC 100-240V.

USB Charging:

Now let’s get into the more interesting parts of the PowerStrip, which is basically the USB charging ports.

There are 6 USB charging ports. Five of the charging ports are Green because they feature Aukey’s AiPower fast charging which basically means that each of the Green ports has an Output power of 5V/2.4A. A charging speed of 2.4 Amps is enough power to charge tablets at their max charging speeds.

You’ll actually be able to charge 3 tablets at the same time at their max charging speed because the Max Output power of the USB charging side is 8 Amps all at once. So charging 3 iPads at once will make the Output only 7.2 Amps. Additionally, a 2.4 Amp charging speed will be able to charge most smartphones at their max charging speed.

If you have a Quick Charge 3.0 compatible smartphone then you can use the Orange Quick Charge 3.0 USB port to charge your smartphones at its max charging speed. The charging speeds that the Quick Charge 3.0 port is capable of are 3.6V-6.5V/3A | 6.5V-9V/2A | 9V-12V/1.5A.

With that said, you’ll only be getting regular charging speed with the Quick Charge 3.0 port if you’re charging a Nexus 5X or 6P because those kinds of smartphones charge the fastest when they’re charging through a USB-C to USB-C connection.

Design

Size and Weight:

It’s a large PowerStrip for what it has and it’s heavy as well, not that it matters too much because you probably won’t be traveling with it and if you do want to travel with it then that’s entirely possible too.

It has a length of 11.8 inches, a width of 4.1 inches and a thickness of 1.3 inches. The weight if the PowerStrip is 1.3 Pounds.

Functional Components:

The power cord that it uses is 5 Feet long and it uses a power switch that is perfect and very useful because you don’t have to go through the hassle of unplugging or plugging in the PowerStrip.

At the bottom is where there’s rubber lining that allows the PowerStrip to be elevated from the ground, and it also has Keyhole Mounting Slots that can be useful if you want to mount the PowerStrip onto a wall or under a table.

When you connect the PowerStrip, the “Aukey” logo lights up green and it’s very useful if you want to plug something in the dark.

Build

Structure and Material:

It’s a solid PowerStrip and that goes for every one of its pieces. The power cord is very thick and won’t tear open just because you’re bending it.

Tech:

Aukey states that the PowerStrip makes use of Protection from Over-Current, Overheating and Over-Charging. However, we don’t see any certification on the powerstrip itself and we find that to be a worrisome thing.

Reliability

We highly recommend getting this PowerStrip if you’ve had it with plugging in a USB wall charger into PowerStrips and having an AC Outlet wasted or having the USB wall charger that you’ve plugged in block another AC Outlet.

Gone are the days when we have to deal with separate components and now this new age of electronics is ushering in a way to mend both powering products into one. That’s because powerstrip basically has a 6 Port USB wall charger built right into it.

Not only that, the USB charging ports are very powerful and there’s even one port to charge your Quick Charge devices at their max charging speeds. This is not a common product and this is something that many people should know about.

Summary:

Power:

There’s no shortage of power when it comes to the power of this AC Outlet because it has 8 AC Outlets and 6 USB charging ports that have a Max Output of 8 Amps all at once.

Design:

It’s large and heavy but there are plenty of convenience factors that it uses. With its power switch, keyhole mounting slots, the rubber lining at the bottom and the 5-foot power cord. We also really like that the Aukey logo lights up.

Build:

It’s a strongly built PowerStrip, but the lack of certifications can be questionable just how reliable it is in the long-term.

Reliability:

For your appliances and charging needs, this does both of those things very well.

This PowerStrip is able to implement charging ports and that makes the use of separate wall chargers highly unnecessary.

Not only that, the implementation of special charging technology like Quick Charge 3.0 takes it even further and pinpoints power to those that can take advantage of it. That’s why we think PowerStrips like this Aukey one are the future for powering and charging.
