Surge Protectors are a very useful appliance to own and use. The main reason for that is because they allow us to power many more appliances and at the same time so we don’t have to unplug and plug appliances into a wall AC Outlet.

In addition to having many more AC Outlets, modern Surge Protectors go further than that because most of them tend to have USB ports as we live in a time where nearly everyone owns a smartphone and therefore we need USB charging ports to charge our devices.

This BESTEK Surge Protector is basically the ultimate culmination of what a Surge Protector will need to provide the best experience that it can. As it uses a bunch of AC Outlets, USB charging ports and a little bit more too. Let’s take a closer look.

Power

Output Charging:

There are a total of 12 AC Outlets with this Surge Protector and that basically means that you can potentially power 12 appliances at once.

That said, there’s more to that than meets the eye and that’s because you have to consider the max output power abilities of this Surge Protector. As it has a max power output of 1875W and therefore you’re able to power appliances that meet within that range of powering abilities.

So you can power heaters, fans or blenders with this Surge Protector, all of which are very high powered appliances, but at the same time, you can’t power a blender and at the same time use a paper shredder simply because that would likely go over the powering output limit of 1875W that this Surge Protector is capable of.

So if you do have a lot of appliances connected to this Surge Protector then it’s best to power down the ones that you’re not using. With all that said, even if you do go over the powering limit of this Surge Protector it will still be safe as the power strip is able to automatically turn off without damaging anything else that’s connected.

Two USB Charging Ports:

This Surge Protector uses a total of two USB charging ports and they’re quite useful for charging devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Each of the two ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.1A, but at the same time, the max output of the USB port section is 2.1A.

As a result, you won’t be getting blazing fast charging if you’re charging two devices at once, and therefore if you want to make the most of the charging speed that you’re going to receive then it’s best to charge a single device at a time with the USB ports.

Of course, the use of USB charging ports basically erases the need of needing to use a USB wall charger, if you don’t really need Quick Charge for your smartphone.

Design

Size and Weight:

With its use of 12 AC Outlets, this BESTEK Surge Protector is definitely quite large. It has a length of 12.6 inches, a width of 4.1 inches and a thickness of 1.3 inches.

The weight of the Surge Protector is 2.1 Pounds. So not too small, but when it comes to Surge protectors, in general, you’re not really worried about how large or heavy it is, as it’s an appliance that you just keep in a single place.

Functional Components:

There are quite a few functional parts on this BESTEK Surge Protector. Starting at the top is where you’ll find the12 AC Outlets. With each of them being 3 prong outlets. On the left and right side is where there are three lined up on each side. Then in the middle is where there are 6 AC Outlets lined up.

The placement of the AC Outlets is quite good but at the same time, it can prove to be problematic if you want to plug in lots of appliances at the same time. The reason for that is because the middle AC Outlets are all close together and therefore you can end up covering surrounding outlets.

Still at the top is where you’ll find two USB charging ports with them both lined up horizontally

On the short side of the Surge Protector is where you’ll find a Cable/Satellite attachment, and to the right of that is where there are two Outputs for phones and one Input for a phone.

On the long side is where you’ll find the Power ON/OFF switch.

Also, at the top is where you’ll find the Green colored Protected light and the Grounded Red light to show that you’re using the Surge Protector in an optimal way.

Build

Structure and Material:

Build quality is basically perfect with this Surge Protector as it has a nearly uni-body build, with only a top and bottom part that make it whole. It uses very hard plastic that’s able to protect it in case of a fall or if something falls onto it.

The functional part of its build quality is also quite good. With the AC Outlets holding strong, and the USB charging ports also being top quality too.

Tech:

On the tech side is where the Surge Protector does exactly what it’s supposed to and that would be to protect itself from Surges. If you go over the powering capabilities of this Surge Protector then it will turn itself off automatically. Then you can reset it and continue using it.

That said, just make sure that you don’t go over its powering limits constantly otherwise it can get damaged that way.

Reliability

Surge Protectors are built on reliability and this one is no different. As there are many AC Outlets that you can use at the same time, and there are also USB charging ports to charge your smartphone and tablet too.

Summary:

Power:

The AC Outlet portion of this Surge Protector has a lot to offer and that’s because it has a max output of 1875W and can, therefore, power quite a few appliances at the same time.

Design:

It’s quite a large and heavy Surge Protector because of its many functional parts. That said, it’s not really a problem and all of the functional parts of the Surge protector are easy to find and use.

Build:

Build quality is very good with the Surge Protector having a nearly uni-body structure and it can shut itself off if it exceeds its own powering limits.

Reliability:

On the reliability side, this Surge Protector absolutely dominates with its many AC Outlets and also USB charging ports.
