Power strips are very helpful everyday appliances and the reason for that is because they allow us to power other appliances that we have. Not only are they able to help us power appliances, but they can also charge up our devices. As there are lots of power strips on the market that have USB ports and can now charge your devices directly. Two of the companies that we do reviews for at Charger Harbor, such as Anker and Aukey have power strips that use USB ports; Anker’s power strip uses 4 USB charging ports and Aukey’s power strips use a whopping 6 ports.

In this case, we’re doing a review for one of BESTEK’s power which strip also uses USB ports. This one has a rather strange look to it with it being a Teddy Bear. That said, this is still very much on the same level as other BESTEK Power Strips that we’ve done reviews on. Let’s take a closer look at what this funny looking power strip has to offer.

Power

Output Charging:

AC Outlet Portion:

The AC Outlet part of this power strip is really no different than a Wall AC Outlet or AC Outlet on other power strips. This Teddy Bear power strip has 4 AC Outlets and the max output of the power strip is 1875W of power. So you’re going to be able to power all the appliances that you want with it.

USB Port Charging:

There are two USB ports on this power strip and it’s really not much when you compare it to power strips that have more USB ports. Each of the charging ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the max output of its USB port portion is 3.4A. So if you’re using both of the ports at the same time, with the max output being reached, then each port will be able to output a charging speed of 5V/1.7A.

Overall, charging port portion of this power strip is quite good, but it could have been better with a Max output of 4.8A.

Design

Size and Weight:

This BESTEK Teddy Bear is quite small and you’re going to be able to place it nearly anywhere that you want to. That said, it doesn’t have the same form factor that the other BESTEK power strips have, it’s more a regular type; with it laying flat on the ground and having the AC Outlet and USB Ports facing up.

It has a length of 6 inches, a width of 4 inches and a thickness of about 1.5 inches. The weight of it is 2 pounds. The power cable that it uses is 5.9 feet long. Overall, this is quite compact power strip for having four AC Outlet and two USB ports.

Functional Components:

At top of the power strip is where there are the 4 AC Outlets and above the AC Outlet is where there are 2 USB charging ports. To the left side is there’s a Red Reset button, and on the back is where you can find wall hook mounts.

Once the power strip is connected to an AC Outlet there’s a Green power indicator that turns on to show you that the power strip is ready to use.

Build

Structure and Material:

Even though it might come as a surprise, this Teddy Bear power strip is built really well. There are no loose parts and it’s structurally sound. The AC Outlets have a protective shutter so children don’t get shocked if they come into contact with the power strip. Also, the power cord is very strong and thick, so you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged easily.

Tech:

Then there’s the safety tech for the power strip which is also on the same level as the structure of the power strip. That’s because it has a Short-Circuit protection and Overload Protection. So if the power strip is using more power than it can handle, which is something that happens quite a lot with these types of appliances, then it will automatically turn off. As a result, your devices, the power strip and you are safe even when you go over its powering limits.

Reliability

This is a very reliable power strip as it’s really not different from other ones. That said, one of the main factors that does make this one better to use than most is the amount of space that you get between each AC Outlet. There’s quite a lot of space between each of the AC outlets, so if you were to use a power brick with it, or a USB wall charger, then it’s quite unlikely that you’ll be covering surrounding AC Outlets.

Summary:

Power:

There’s no shortage of power when it comes to the AC Outlets, but the max output of the USB port could be higher so you can use the max output of both of the ports at the same time.

Design:

It has quite a good form factor with it being small, all of the AC Outlets and USB ports are on a single side. One of the best parts though is how the AC outlets are far apart from each other so you won’t easily cover up surrounding AC Outlets.

Build:

The power strip has a solid built quality with its structure being well built and also it has a built-in protections to make sure that it turns off automatically when it goes over its powering limits.

Reliability:

This is a highly reliable power strip because you’re able to power your appliances and charge your USB device at the same time, without the need of using a USB wall charger. As there’s basically already a USB wall charger that’s built-into the power strip.
