Many of us use USB wall chargers and those are the type of charging electronics that simply have an AC adapter that is built into the charger. USB wall chargers are easy to use as most of them have retractable AC adapters that are able to make the wall charger a complete cube which makes it easier for portability purposes.

That said, wall chargers may not have enough USB charging ports and that’s why there are Desktop chargers.

Desktop chargers have many more ports than USB wall chargers, but they don’t use an AC adapter, instead, they use a power cord to plugin into the wall.

These chargers are great to use if you want to charge lots of devices at once, as you can charge numerous devices to their full power as fast as possible. That’s why we’re doing a review on this BlitzWolf 5-Port Desktop charger which actually uses a special charging tech called Quick Charge 3.0. Let’s take a closer look to see if it’s worth getting.

Power

Output Charging:

The BlitzWolf Desktop charger Quick Charging a Galaxy S7

There are a total of five USB charging ports with this desktop charger. Four of the charging ports have a standard charging speed of 5V/2.4A that can charge most devices at their max power such as tablets like the iPad or ones that are Non-Quick Charge compatible.

There’s also the fifth port that features Quick Charge 3.0 and can charge Quick Charge compatible devices at their max charging speed.

All of the individual charging power with this desktop charger is very powerful, but it wanes a little when it comes to full output charging.

That’s because the max output of the charger with its four standard USB ports is 4.4A and therefore if you’re charging devices that take fast charging speeds with those standard ports, then the speed can separate. This is really only a concern if you’re charging multiple large devices at the same time such as tablets. Also, the low max output of the standard port section has a purpose.

The reason for the low standard max output portion is mainly there so you’re able to charge your Quick Charge compatible devices at their max charging speed, no matter what or how many devices you’re charging with the standard ports.

Overall, this is a great Desktop charger for those that own a Quick Charge smartphone or have family members that own Quick Charge devices too, and at the same time that wants to charge their other devices at their max power.

Input Charging:

This Desktop charger should work optimally just by plugging it into a wall AC Outlet or into Surge Protector AC Outlet too.

Design

Size and Weight:

This is a very smaller Desktop charger and that’s a good thing. Most might think that having lots of USB ports means that they’re going to be larger, but this BlitzWolf desktop charger isn’t going to take up much space at all.

That’s because it has a length of 3.6 inches, a width of 2.3 inches and a thickness of 1.1 inches. You can either place this charger flat on a surface as it has four rubber pads that keep it in place.

Or you can place the charger vertically, but it might tip over if you’re charging lots of devices at once because cables get pulled and it simply won’t stay in a single place.

The charger weighs about 14 Ounces, so not even a pound. The use of a power cord might feel like a hassle to some but it’s actually a great benefit as you can keep all your devices closer to you while they’re charging and you can place the Desktop charger itself anywhere that you want.

Functional Components:

There aren’t many functional parts on this charger and that’ a good thing as it should be very easy to use.

All five of the USB charging ports are on a single side. Four of the standard ports are colored Silver and the Quick Charge port is Green. The only downside side to the functional part of this charger is that there’s a lack of a LED power light, so there’s no indication whether or not its powered on or not.

That said, as long as the charger is plugged in then you should be good.

The power cord input can be found at the back of the charger and the four rubber pads are on the side of the charger.

Build

Structure and Material:

The entire charger is made of plastic and that’s absolutely standard when it comes to wall chargers and desktop chargers in general. The great part about the build quality with charger is that it has a near uni-body structure and therefore there’s less of a chance that it’ll break.

Tech:

We charged up to five devices at once with one of the devices actually using Quick Charge 3.0 with the Samsung Galaxy S7. The BliitzWolf desktop charger simply gets a little warm but nothing else happened.

We find that to be a great build quality when it comes to tech and BlitzWolf made a great decision by limiting the max output of the standard portion to still be able to make use of Quick Charge and this has also resulted in the charger not overheating.

Reliability

It’s a very reliable charger with its five USB charging ports and its use of Quick Charge makes it even more reliable for those that own Quick Charge devices.

Summary:

Power:

Charging power through individual USB ports is very good as the standard USB charging ports have a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and there’s a Quick Charge port.

The max output of the charger is low on the standard port side but that’s mostly so you can use the Quick Charge port to its max power.

Design:

It’s a very small 5-Port desktop charger that won’t have any problems fitting onto your desk and you’re going to be able to have all your devices charging near you. The only part that we wish it had was a LED light so you would know that it’s powered on.

Build:

Build quality is very good as it has a near uni-body structure and the charger only get warm when you’re charging five devices at once while still using Quick Charge.

Reliability:

The reliability of charger is very good with its five USB ports and its use of Quick Charge. Most are going to find a use for it, especially those that own Quick Charge compatible devices.
