With so many different types of power banks on the market, you can easily get one that suits your charging needs. Such as needing a portable charger that can last a long time without needing to be recharged, then you’d go for one that has a high power capacity. Or ones that can charge laptops, which would feature more powerful USB-C Power Delivery ports.

There are power banks like this CHOETECH B650 wireless charging power bank that features two fast charging ports. This is definitely one of the most useful portable chargers used for charging smartphones and other smaller devices. Let’s see why that is.

Power

Power Capacity:

The power capacity of this CHOETECH charger is not the impressive part, as a 10,000mAh power capacity is mainly enough for charging smartphones to full power about two times. That said, if you own a newer phone such as Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, or the Galaxy S21 Ultra, you may find that you’ll be getting only a single full charge from this CHOETECH power bank.

That’s because these newer phones have larger batteries, with the base S21 having a 4,000mAh battery, the S21 Plus has a 4,800mAh battery, and the S21 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery. This larger battery trend is the case with other brand smartphones, even Apple’s iPhones, so a 10,000mAh power bank is no longer enough for charging a phone to full power two times. You’ll be good for a day or two without needing to recharge the power bank, and that’s what most consumers are looking for anyways.

Charging larger devices such as tablets with this power bank is also possible, but you’re likely going to be using the power bank’s full power capacity.

Output Charging:

Easily the best part of this CHOETECH power bank is the charging you’re able to get from it. There are three output charging methods, with the power bank featuring a USB-A Quick Charge 3.0 port, a USB-C Power Delivery port, and wireless charging at the top of the power bank.

With the USB-C Power Delivery port, you’re able to fast charge most smartphones; this is true for Android phones and iPhones. The USB-C port has an 18W charging speed, so it’s mostly only useful for fast charging smartphones, and in our tests, we were able to use the USB-C PD port to fast charge a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and a Google Pixel. Were are also able to charge a Nintendo Switch via the USB-C Power Delivery port too, making this power bank useful if you want to game and charge your Switch when you’re on the move.

The Quick Charge 3.0 port can fast charge Quick Charge compatible smartphones such as the Galaxy Note 9; The QC port can still charge Non-Quick Charge compatible phones. The wireless charging at the top of the power bank is an innovative part, as you don’t need a cable at all if you’re using the wireless charging, and the best part is that the charging pad has a 5W, 7.5W, or 10W wireless charge rate depending on what smartphone you’re charging. We can wirelessly fast charge a Note 9 with the power bank, while iPhones can wirelessly charge at 7.5W.

Charging speed for Nintendo Switch with three devices charging at the same time. Charging can be faster if charging alone.

Also, you can use all outputs simultaneously, and we were able to charge three devices simultaneously, with an LG G7 wirelessly charging at the top, a Nintendo Switch via the USB-C Power Delivery port, and Google Pixel charging from the USB-A Quick Charge port.

The wireless charging is not able to charge smartwatches.

Input Charging:

Recharging this power bank is fast with either of the two input ports that you use. You can recharge using either the USB-C Power Delivery port or the Micro-USB input. Each of the two input ports has an 18W recharging speed, but you have to use a Power Delivery wall charger for the USB-C port or a Quick Charge wall charger for the Micro-USB input port to get max recharging speed.

Design

Size and Weight:

The CHOETECH B650 power bank is small, thin, and lightweight; all the facets of a power bank enable you to place the charger into your pocket.

Functional Components:

Using the power bank simple, charging from the ports starts automatically, but if you want to start wirelessly charging at the top of the power bank, you have to press the power button once to activate it. You also have to make sure that your phone is in the center of the pad, and the pad does have a particular design with a texture and a center logo.

The power bank’s ports are found to the side, and there are four white power capacity indicators. The charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable that you can use right out of the box with the USB-C port.

Build

Structure and Material:

The power bank has a great build. However, we recommend not dropping the charger as it’s still made of plastic. When it comes to everyday use, the charger will hold up well.

Tech:

The only time the charger got warm during our test was when we were using the wirelessly charging. However, that is completely normal with wireless charging. You’ll find the same thing happens to regular Non-portable charger wireless chargers.

Reliability

Comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable

This CHOETECH B650 power bank is likely the most reliable power bank that you can own for charging smartphones, or tablets. As the power bank features two of the most used fast charging technologies; Power Delivery and Quick Charge, however, PD is the more widely used type of charging tech used to charge a Nintendo Switch, most smartphones, and tablets. The power bank even has wireless charging, so you can still charge your phone if you don’t have a cable.

Summary:

Power:

The power capacity is just high enough to charge most phones to full power about once or twice. Better than the power capacity is the charging, with the power bank featuring Power Delivery, Quick Charge, and fast wireless charging.

Design:

The B650 power bank is small and lightweight. You’re easily able to place the charger into your pocket. It’s easy to use with the press of a button to start wireless charging, and port charging starts automatically when you plug a device into the power bank.

Build:

The charger is made of plastic but sturdy. It does get warm during wireless charging, but that is a normal occurrence.

Reliability:

The power bank is perfect for smartphones as it has three charging methods that are compatible with nearly every phone on the market.
