When it comes to wall chargers, they’re basically the most used types of charging electronics on the market and that’s mostly because most of them come with all the new portable devices that we purchase. That said, a wall charger can be quite limiting and that’s because they have few ports and may not have the charging power that you’re looking for to charge certain devices that are compatible with technologies such as Power Delivery. That’s why purchasing a Power Delivery desktop charger can be very useful if you’re someone that owns a Power Delivery compatible laptop and a smartphone.

This Choetech Power Delivery desktop charger definitely holds a lot of promise with its use of a USB-C port as it’s able to deliver so much power and it conveniently makes use of three USB-A ports, too.

Power

Output Charging:

So there are two main portions to this charging station and that would be the USB-C port, which is actually the reason that you’re purchasing this charger, and the three USB-A ports.

USB-C Power Delivery Port:

So the Power Delivery charging speed on most Power delivery wall chargers is 30W, and that’s still a good amount of power that can charge quite a few Power Delivery compatible laptops. That said, it’s not always enough for max charging power and there are even laptops on the market that require more than 30W of charging power. That’s why this Choetech charger with its 60W USB-C Power Delivery port is a lot better if you need that much power.

Charging a Samsung Galaxy S8, a Google Pixel, and a Galaxy S6 at the same time.

This is double than the average amount of power, and so you’re able to charge a USB-C MacBook at its max charging speed, and also other types of laptops that really do require more than 30W of charging power. The two laptops that we’re talking about is the Dell XPS 13 that require that you use a 45W Power Delivery charger or higher and there’s also the Dell XPS 15 that needs 60W of PD charging power.

Charging Stats for the S8

So the Power Delivery charging from this desktop charger covers fast charging all the way down to PD smartphones and also for larger and more powerful PD compatible laptops.

3 USB-A Ports:

Of course, there are three USB-A ports on this charger but they’re not really the highlight in comparison to the USB-C port, and that’s because they share a 12W charging output. So if you’re charging multiple devices at the same time with the USB-A ports, then that will result in slower charging for those devices.

The good news is that the max output of this charging station is 72W, so 60W is reserved for the USB-C port and the 12W is for the USB-A ports.

Design

Size and Weight:

Even though this is a desktop charging station, it’s not much larger than a wall charger and the perception of it being larger is because of its use of a power cord, rather than a built-in AC adapter. As the charger only has a length of 3.5 inches, a width of 2.8 inches, and a thickness of 1 inc. It has a weight of 8 Ounces.

The charger makes use of a 5-foot power cord, so all you really have to do is just wrap it around the charger itself and you’re good to travel with it.

Functional Components:

On the functional side, well, there’s not much function other than just connecting the power cord to the charger out of the box and then connecting it to an AC outlet. The one thing that we did find bothersome is that there was no LED power light to signify that the charger is on.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of the charger is pretty good and it’s definitely comparable to other, larger and more well-known brands such as Anker and Aukey. Even though the charger is made of plastic it feels great to use and has a solid structure that isn’t flimsy.

Tech:

The charger doesn’t get even get if you’re using the Power Delivery charging for a long duration and that’s a good thing because this is mostly a laptop charger and so having your laptop plugged into this charger for a long duration is something that most people will do.

Reliability

If you’re searching for more powerful Power Delivery charging, then this Choetech charger can be a great choice as it provides double than the standard 30W that most Power Delivery chargers have to offer.

The only thing is that the USB-A ports are rather weak if you’re charging multiple devices at once with them, and none of them feature Quick Charge. On the bright, it’s still pretty reliable to be able to charge three other devices, such as smartphones or tablets while you charge your laptop.

Summary:

Power:

The 60W of charging is able to cover a wider range of Power Delivery compatible laptops and you can even charger another three devices at once.

Design:

The charger is rather small and easy to take places. We did wish it had a power indicator to show when it’s charging or getting power.

Build:

It has a solid build and doesn’t get warm even when you’re charging for a long time.

Reliability:

With its more than usual Power Delivery charging, this Choetech charger is able to charge most Power Delivery compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets and also more laptops.
