The USB-C port is now used with many devices. Every Android smartphone now uses a USB-C port, and the iPhone, even though it does not use a USB-C port, it’s still compatible to use with USB-C Power Delivery charging.

When it comes to laptops that use USB-C ports, some of them don’t even use any other ports other than a USB-C port. Take the Apple MacBook Air, for example, the laptop only uses two USB-C ports and that’s it. This can cause problems if you want to be able to connect more devices to your laptop and that’s why this CHOETECH USB-C adapter can prove to be so useful.

Features

This CHOETECH USB-C adapter has a total of nine ways to use it. Let’s check them out.

Three USB 3.0 Ports:

There are three USB 3.0 ports, and these may be the most used parts of this adapter as a laptop that uses a USB-C port might not even have any USB 3.0 ports.

In our case, all of our testing was done with a Microsoft Surface Go, which is a tablet/laptop hybrid that does not have any full-sized USB 3.0 ports and only uses a single USB-C port.

So using this CHOETECH USB-C adapter is perfect for the Surface Go, and it worked perfectly with it.

We connected a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 smartphone, a keyboard and a Bluetooth adapter for a wireless mouse to the three USB 3.0 ports. All of them worked flawlessly with the Surface Go.

We were able to share files with the Galaxy Note 9, the mouse was working with the Surface Go and so was the Keyboard.

We also tested out connecting three phones at once and that worked, too.

RJ 45 Ethernet Port:

The Surface Go does have Wifi, but of course, we had to test out the Ethernet port from the adapter, and it worked well. We disconnected the Wifi and connected the ethernet cable to the port on the adapter and had an uninterrupted internet connection.

60Hz VGA Port and HDMI Port:

We used a Samsung monitor with the VGA port and we were able to easily have the Surface Go screen on the Samsung screen via the USB-C adapter.

There is also an HDMI port that we used and that worked just as well.

SD Card Reader and Micro SD Card Reader:

There is an SD card reader and a Micro SD card reader, so if you have a Micro SD card from your smartphone you can connect that to the adapter and share files through your computer. On top of that, there is also a regular SD card reader that can be used.

USB-C Power Delivery Port:

Of course, most USB-C laptops and tablets are chargeable through their USB-C ports.

Even if with the CHOETECH USB-C adapter connected you’re still able to charge your device with the adapter because it has a USB-C Power Delivery port that can accept up to 100W Power Delivery charging power.

We used it with the Microsoft Surface Go and were able to charge it without any problems.

Design

Size and Weight:

This is possibly the sleekest USB-C adapter you will ever own. It has a length of about 5 inches, it has a width of 3 inches and a thickness of 0.5 inches. It won’t be taking up any space at all on your desk.

That said, we wish that the USB-C cable on the adapter would be a bit longer so you can place it further away from your laptop or tablet.

Functional Components:

There are no buttons to press on the adapter, and all you have to do to use the adapter is just plug it into your laptop or tablet and you’re ready to use it. We recommend just giving it a few seconds for your device to recognize the adapter, though.

We were able to start connecting devices without any hiccups. It would be pretty cool if there were lights on the adapter to show if it’s connecting or already connected to your device, but it’s really fine as it is.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build of this adapter feels premium. The casing is made of Aluminum, and they could have made it with plastic, but the Aluminum makes it look more high quality.

Tech:

With so many ports to use, you would think that this adapter would overheat, well it does heat up, but not by much. We only noticed it heating up when we used the Power Delivery charging port on the adapter as connecting devices to the adapter doesn’t generate too much heat.

Reliability

This USB-C adapter is built on reliability. You’re able to connect a bunch of devices at once to your laptop that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to connect without the adapter.

Conclusion:

Products that we purchase are meant to fix problems that we have, and this CHOETECH 9 in 1 USB-C adapter solves a few problems at once. You can connect a monitor, three smartphones, or a mouse, keyboard, tablet, an ethernet cable, and a charger all at once with this adapter. USB-C ports are helpful but are limited if they’re the only ports used with a device, and this CHOETECH adapter can solve a lot of problems with those limits.
