In this review, we’re looking at this CHOETECH 36W Dual USB-C PD car charger; the charger has two fast charging PD ports, so let’s see how well does when it comes to charging a single device and two devices at the same time.

Power

Output Charging:

This CHOETECH car charger is a great one to get if you want to fast charge two smartphones simultaneously. As we mentioned before, each of the PD ports can output an 18W charging speed, and the max output of the car charger is 36W. In our tests, we charged a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the Google Pixel at the same time; both of those smartphones are Power Delivery fast charging compatible, and both of them were able to fast charge at the same time from this CHOETECH car charger. This is due to the car charger having a max output of 36W.

You may also fast charge two iPhones simultaneously; however, just something to note when charging an iPhone from a USB-C port is that you must use a Lightning to USB-C cable. Also, another thing to note is that from the iPhone 8 and iPhone X to the latest iPhone 12, are the models that are Power Delivery compatible.

This CHOETECH car charger does not feature dynamic charging, meaning that even if you’re charging from a single port, the port will still output 18W, not 30W. That said, this CHOETECH car charger is great for fast charging most tablets and smartphones simultaneously.

Size and Weight:

The car charger itself is about 2 inches in length, and it’s barely noticeable once you plug it inside your 12Volt outlet in your car.

Functional Components:

The two USB-C Power Delivery ports are located at the front of the car charger, and there is a blue LED power light that turns on when you plug the charger in. The car charger comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable included in the box.

Build

Structure and Material:

This CHOETECH car charger’s build quality is great, and it’s what you would expect from any other quality car charger sold from a reputable brand. Even though it’s made of plastic, it doesn’t feel cheap.

Tech:

We were fast charging a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and a Google Pixel simultaneously, and the car charger did not heat up.

Reliability

This is a reliable car charger to get if you want to fast charge one or two smartphones or tablets simultaneously. That is thanks to the 36W max output that allows you to use each port at max power.

Since you’re only able to get an 18W charging speed, this CHOETECH car charger is not reliable for charging USB-C Power Delivery laptops. You have to get a car charger that has a 30W PD output for charging a laptop.
