Portable chargers are mainly thought to be for charging smartphones and many other mobile devices, and you’re right to think so. Portable chargers have also led to other products that may not be used to charge up devices but can be used for other purposes, such as being portable tire pumps. In this review, we’re taking a look at this CYCPLUS A8 portable tire pump. It’s like a power bank for your car tires, bicycle tires and can be used to inflate sports balls, too.
Power
Power Capacity:
The power capacity of this CYCPLUS A8 tire pump is 2,600mAh, and that’s a pretty small capacity when it comes to power banks in general. However, in the case of filling up tires with air, it works well enough. With its 2,600mAh capacity, this portable tire pump can fill up three tires fully or 12 bike tires or 40 basketballs; these inflation estimates are based on the objects being fully deflated, which does mean a lot because if you’re using this tire pump, you’re likely going to be dealing with a partially deflated object.
Tire Pump Performance:
The tire pump performance is pretty good with the CYCPLUS A8, but it mainly depends on if you’re filling up a tire from being completely deflated or if you’re trying to fill it up partially. Filling up a completely deflated car tire, bicycle tire, or ball, will result in a 10 – 15 minute wait time; however, that wait time is mainly for car tires, and small size tires or balls will take less time.
For example, we tested out the CYCPLUS A8 tire pump with a Toyota Sienna with 30 PSI tire, while the PSI of the tire for the Sienna is supposed to be 35 PSI. We connected the CYCPLYS A8 tire pump to the tire, set the meter to 35 PSI, and turned it on. The Sienna tire took about 2 minutes to fill from 30 PSI to 35 PSI. That’s not bad, and it’s pretty great considering that you can fill up your tire no matter where you are, especially great for emergencies, and you don’t have to rely on going to an air pump at a gas station.
The A8 portable tire pump can fill up to a 150 PSI limit, and that’s great as you’ll likely never have to fill up something that much. It’s good for car tires and bicycles tires, but it’s not on the same power level as a stationary tire air pump that you will find at gas stations and will take longer to fill up your tire.

Input Charging:
Easily the second-best part of CYCPLUS A8 is that it has a USB-C input for recharging, as you can recharge it at 18W with an 18W USB-C Power Delivery wall charger or via a USB-A Quick Charge port. It’s great to have such an accessible way to recharge the unit.
Design
Size and Weight:
Since the A8 tire pump has a low 2,600mAh power capacity, it can be tiny with its length of 6.8 inches, a width of 2.5 inches, and a thickness of 1.4 inches. The weight of the tire pump is 1 pound. It’s a pretty small portable tire pump that you can take anywhere and is perfect for storing in your car if you ever need it.
Functional Components:
Using the CYCPLUS A8 tire pump is simple, with a few buttons at the front of the tire pump, and it comes with all the accessories you need to use it. The tire pump is included in the box with the tire pump tube, valve converter, ball converter attachment, a USB-C to USB-A charging cable, and a carrying pouch.
The tire pump has an LED screen showing current PSI or BAR pressure readings for the tire or ball you’re currently filling. It also has a small battery symbol to show the battery capacity remaining. There are five buttons below the screen: left, right, top, bottom, and middle.
The middle button is used to turn on the unit, and you have to hold it down for a few seconds; once you have the tire pump connected to a tire or ball, you press the power button once to begin filling the air.
The bottom and top buttons are used to increase or decrease the desired PSI or BAR pressure that you’d like the air pump to stop at; the change in PSI setting pressure limit is shown on-screen. The left button is used to change from PSI to BAR and vice versa, and you have to hold down the left button to do so.
The right button is for turning on the flashlight, and you have to hold it down to turn on the LED flashlight.

Structure and Material:
This CYCPLUS A8 tire pump has a great build because it has an Aluminum Alloy shell, and beneath that, it has a plastic layer. It’s not precisely a rugged build, but it’s tough enough to have in your car and not have to worry about it getting damaged.
Tech:
This portable tire pump can get warm when you’re using it, as filling up tires with air is quite a bit of work, but it only ever got warm for us. If it starts getting hot, it’s best to let the tire pump take a break or contact CYCPLUS directly to see what’s happening.
Reliability
This is a reliable enough portable tire pump that has versatile usage. You can use it to fill up your car or bicycle tires or use it to fill up a sports ball. The only less reliable part is that it can take longer to fill up car tires than a full-fledged air pump station.
