If you have a Power Delivery compatible device then it’s pretty reasonable to look into purchasing a Power Delivery portable charger. This is especially true if you have a Power Delivery compatible laptop and that’s because you don’t have to just use a wall charger to charge it with, whereas in the past, the only real option that you had to charge your laptop was to use a charging brick. With a portable charger, you’re able to take it anywhere that you want and provide full charges for not only your laptop but also for other devices too, as most power banks use more than just a single port.

In this review, we’re going to be taking a look at this Dodocool 20,100mAh Power Delivery portable charger that actually has a 45W Power Delivery charging speed. Most power banks on the market that use Power Delivery make use of a 30W charging rate, so having more is definitely something to look out for if you have a more powerful laptop that requires more power.

Power

Power Capacity:

This is a high capacity power bank that starts out with 20,100mAh and having a high capacity with a Power Delivery portable charger is something that is a necessity as your going to be charging large devices that have large batteries. There are even power banks that have more power such as Anker’s PowerCore+ 26800 and also Jackery’s SuperCharge power bank that also has a 26,800mAh power capacity.

3.7 x 20,100 = 74,370 / 5 = 14,874

Most of the time you’re actually going to be able to use about 15,000mAh of the capacity with this power bank. This much power is still quite good for charging most laptops that have a 7,000mAh battery and it’s also useful for charging smartphones that have 3,000mAh battery to full power about five times.

That said, the full charges estimates are based on charging a single device at a time, and so if you want to secure as much power capacity for charging your laptop to full power as many times as possible, then it’s best to not charge any other devices while charging your Power Delivery laptop.

Output Charging:

There are three ports to use with this power bank.

The main reason that you’re getting this power bank is for its USB-C Power Delivery port that has as 45W charging speed. There are still quite a few 45W Power Delivery portable chargers on the market and so this Dodocool power bank featuring a 45W charging speed is a great plus because it not only allows you to charge a USB-C MacBook quite quickly, but it’s also useful for charging laptops that require 45W to charge, too, such as the Dell XPS 13 that actually requires that you use a 45W Power Delivery charger or else it won’t charge.

That’s not to say that this power bank will charge all Power Delivery compatible laptops though, because there are also laptops like the XPS 15 that need 60W of charging power to charge with Power Delivery, so this power bank won’t do.

The other two ports on this power bank are USB-A ports that each have a 5V/2.4A charging speed, and so you can charge another two devices at once while you charge your laptop.

Input Charging:

To recharge this power bank, you have to use the USB-C input port and you can actually recharge the power bank at Power Delivery speeds when you use a Power Delivery wall charger. The only downside is that this power bank does not come with a Power Delivery wall charger but you can just use one that you use with your Power Delivery laptop and that should do.

However, the max recharging speed of the power bank is slower than the output charging, and so it’s able to charge at 30W rather than 45W.

Design

Size and Weight:

Even though this is a high capacity power bank, and it’s, of course, going to be larger than a mid-range power bank, it’s no trouble at all to take this anywhere you go and that’s why Power Delivery is so important. Portable power for larger and more powerful devices is now convenient;

This charger has a length of 7.4 inches, a width of 2.6 inches, and a thickness of 0.9 inches. The weight of the power bank is 1 pound. In terms of length, this charger is basically the same size as a smartphone, and the part that makes it seem large is its weight. It’s actually possible to place this power bank in your pocket but not really for a long duration as it can get uncomfortable.

Most of the time you’re going to be setting the charger down to charge your devices anyways and fitting the power bank into a backpack or holding it for a while is a breeze.

Functional Components:

All of the functional parts of the power bank are on a single side and that’s where you’ll find the power button, four White power capacity indicators, and all the charging ports.

You do have to press the power button to begin charging, and once charging has begun the LED lights turn off after a few seconds and you can simply press the power button again to turn them back on.

Build

Structure and Material:

The charger has a solid build even though it’s made of plastic, but that’s the case for most Power Delivery portable chargers on the market anyways. For everyday use, it’s perfect and the ports hang on tight to the charging cables that you place into them. However, it’s by no means a rugged power bank no matter how great it feels to hold and use, so you should be cautious about dropping it as it potentially breaks.

Tech:

If you’re only using the Power Delivery port, then the charger does not turn warm. However, if you’re charging another two devices at the same time along with the Power Delivery port, then the power bank does get a little warm.

Reliability

With few 45W Power Delivery portable chargers on the market, this Dodocool power bak is a welcome addition to the Power Delivery charging family. It features more Power Delivery charging that can be useful for charging certain more powerful laptops, and it’s useful for fast charging Power Delivery compatible smartphones, too.

Summary:

Power:

The power capacity is enough to charge both small and large devices to full power multiple times, provided that you’re charging them alone. The Power Delivery charging is quite powerful and can be useful for charging certain devices faster than a 30W power bank.

Design:

The size of the power bank is rather small, and really what makes it seem larger is the weight of 1 pound, but even then, it’s easy to take anywhere that you want.

Build:

The power banks feels great and perform well. However, don’t get carried away and drop it, because it’s not a rugged power bank, despite its powerful charging.

Reliability:

The charging power is able to charge a wider range of Power Delivery compatible devices.
