The main thing with portable devices is that we always want them to be as small as possible and the most common cause for that is because smartphones have made us want very small devices.

Okay, sure, most smartphones these days are quite large but more importantly, they’re slim. The iPhone 7 getting rid of its headphone jack is proof of that and that’s what matters the most with portable devices. Slimness.

Slim form factors also matter a lot when it comes to portable chargers, but of course, it depends on what the power capacity of the portable charger is.

As most of the time, 10,000mAh of power capacity is the cut-off point for a slim form factor.

This EasyAcc 10,000mAh Quick Charge portable charger is a slim power bank that has quite a few great attributes that not many other slim power banks have. Let’s see if you should purchase this highly portable charger for more than just its form factor.

Power Capacity:

The initial power capacity of this portable charger is 10,000mAh and it’s a really good power capacity considering that the charger has a slim form factor which makes portability easier.

Another great part is that it uses just a single USB port and therefore the conversion power is focused on a single spot, as most other 10,000mAh power banks tend to have two USB charging ports. In this case, though, the use of just a single USB port is perfectly fine.

However, there are two main conversion Output power capacities that you’re going to receive as the single port on this portable charger features Quick Charge and it also has a standard charging speed of 5V/2.0A.

3.7 x 10,000 = 37,000 / 5 = 7,400

The Output power capacity that you’re going to be receiving by using the standard charging is going to be about 7,400mAh.

Then if you’re charging a Quick Charge compatible device, subtracting 1,000mAh from the standard Output power is usually the case and that means you’ll receive about 6,000mAh of Output power capacity from using the Quick Charge capabilities that this charger has.

Both of the Output power capacities are good and that that’s because you’re most likely going to be charging a smartphone and therefore, you’re able to charge most smartphones on the market to their full power at least twice with this EasyAcc Slim power bank.

Output Charging:

As we mentioned in the “Power Capacity” section, this portable charger uses just a single port and that’s all it needs as you get more power capacity and the charging speed from the single port is good.

The USB charging port features Quick Charge 3.0 and so you’re able to charge Quick Charge 3.0 and 2.0 compatible smartphones at their max charging speeds. The Quick Charge port has a charging output speed of  5~6V / 3A, 6~9V / 2A, 9~12V / 1.5A.

However, if you’re charging a Non-Compatible Quick Charge device with this portable charger then you’re able to get a charging speed of 5V/2.0A. It may not the best standard charging speed as 5V/2.4A would be, but 2 Amps of charging is a lot better than just a single amp.

Input Charging:

This EasyAcc portable charger uses a Micro-USB input port to recharge and it has a recharge speed of 5V/2.0A. You have to use a 2 Amp USB wall charger to recharge the portable charger at its max power and therefore you’ll get a full recharge within 5 hours.

It would have been nice to have a Quick Charge input as the Output uses Quick Charge, so then Quick Charge compatible users would be able to use their Quick Charge USB wall chargers for a faster recharging rate. Something EasyAcc should consider.

Design

Size and Weight:

Of course, the most important part of the portable charger, in this case, is its slim form factor.

That’s because it has a length of 5.2 inches, a width of 2.5 inches and it has a thickness of 0.5 inches. The weight of the portable charger is 6.5 ounces.

It can very easily fit into your pocket, but fitting it into your pocket along with your smartphone is a bit of a stretch since it has a 0.5-inch thickness and you’d be adding onto it if you were to put it in your pocket with your phone.

So it’s best to place it into a pocket alone, or even better, this portable charger is great to hold in your hands while you charge and use your phone at the same time. The weight feels very light too.

Functional Components:

Along with its easy portability, this portable charger is also really easy to use.

It has three main functional part on a short side which includes the:

  • Flashlight
  • USB Output port
  • Micro-USB input port

The flashlight is quite bright and you can turn it on by holding down the power button and turning it off by holding down the power button again. The power button is on the long side of the charger and its other function is to turn on charging once you’ve connected a device to the power bank.

Then at the top is where there are 4 White LED power capacity indicators.

Build

Structure and Material:

The whole portable charger is made of plastic and its structure is built well as it has 3 main pieces that hold it together. So rigidity of the portable charger is really solid even if you were to drop it, but at the same time, it’s no Rugged power bank so just be careful with it.

If we’re talking about the components, they feel really good to use as the USB port holds your charging cable very strongly and the power button is very responsive when it comes to turning on the flashlight and also for when you begin charging.

Tech:

Most of the time when it comes to slim portable chargers the main concern is how they deal with the heat that’s generated during charging, especially with the use of Quick Charge.

In this case, this EasyAcc portable charger does a great job at dealing with heat as it has stayed cool most of the time but can turn warm if you’re charging for long periods.

Reliability

With the use of Quick Charge, this EasyAcc portable charger is going to be most reliable for those that own Quick Charge compatible devices as they’re able to charge their devices at max power.

Charging speed for standard devices is pretty good too but it’s only 5V/2.0A, and if you have a standard device then we recommend something like Anker’s PowerCore 10000 as it has a 5V/2.4A charging speed while at the same time maintaining a slim form factor too.

Of course, the main reliable part of its design is its slim form factor as it can go with you anywhere.

Summary:

Power:

The power capacity is enough to charge most smartphones to their full power at least twice, regardless if you’re charging a Quick Charge or Non-Compatible Quick Charge device.

Design:

It has a slim form factor that can fit into your pocket alone very easily or you can hold it in a single hand while you charge and use your smartphone at the same time.

Build:

Build quality is great with the portable charger using very few pieces and it also has premium-feeling components too.

Reliability:

It’s 100% reliable if you’re using a Quick Charge compatible device with it, and if you’re not, this portable charger is still really good. But we recommend purchasing a portable charger that doesn’t use Quick Charge if you don’t have one.
