Portable chargers are one of the most used types of chargers on the market. Most of the time, we usually use wall chargers to charge our devices. However, power banks have gotten to that point where it’s better to use them rather than just be tied down to a wall charger. Instead, using the wall charger to recharge the power bank rather than charging your smartphone with it directly. What matters even more, is what the portable chargers can do, and know that lots of brands create them, power banks are capable of doing things that wall chargers can do.

There are even power banks that feature wireless charging.

This EasyAcc 20,000mAh MegaCharge D20 power bank is one of the best portable chargers on the market currently as it has a culmination of the best charging put into one charger that you can take anywhere with you. This is basically an upgraded version of the already amazing first MegaCharge from EasyAcc, the 16,750mAh MegaCharge Portable Charger.

Power

Power Capacity:

The power capacity with this power bank is 20,000mAh. However, you have to account for converting the power capacity as all power banks cannot give an exact output power capacity to charge your devices that it initially starts with. Another part that has to do with this charger is the number of output charging ports. There are 4 in total. So if you’re charging with all of the ports simultaneously, that can result in a lower output of power.

With all that said, we’re going to calculate the average output capacity that you’re going to be able to use with this charger first.

3.7 x 20,000 = 74,000 / 5 = 14,800

Most of the time, you’re going to be able to use about 15,000mAh of the power capacity that this charger has. However, if you’re using the Quick Charge port along with the other ports at the same time, that can actually drop the output power capacity because the charging rate is faster through that port. If that’s the case, then you can expect about 13,000mAh from this charger.

Even so, the capacity you can use is still plenty to charge many smartphones to their full power a few times over. Such as the Galaxy S8 can charge to its full power about 4.5 times. If you own a smartphone with a low battery capacity, such as an iPhone 7, that can result in 6 full charges.

So charging tablets with this power bank is also possible, and you can very well charge a MacBook that’s USB-C compatible with this power bank since this charger uses a USB-C port.

Output Charging:

The charging with this EasyAcc MegaCharge D20 portable charger has one of the best charging set-ups we have seen with a power bank. There are a total of 4 Output charging ports.

Two Standard Charging Ports –

The two standard charging ports on his power bank each have a charging rate of 5V/3.0A. This is quite close to a Quick Charge speed, but it’s not Quick Charge, but higher on the standard charging speed scale. These two ports are perfect for standard devices that are not compatible with Quick Charge. It’s higher than the 2.4A ports that a lot of other flagship power banks tend to use.

Quick Charge Port –

There’s a Quick Charge port on this power bank, and because of that, if you own a Quick Charge compatible device, we highly recommend that you purchase this charger. As it can charge either Quick Charge 3.0 or 2.0 compatible devices at their max charging speed. If you’re using a non-compatible smartphone with this Quick Charge port, then it’ll automatically just output 5V/3.0A.

USB-C Port –

The final port is the USB-C port, and you can use a USB-C to USB-C charging cable to use this port to charge USB-C compatible devices. Or you can use a USB-C to Lightning cable to charge the iPhone X or iPhone 8 at a faster charging rate. This port has a charging rate of 5V/3.0A.

A surprising and awesome part of the USB-C port on this power bank is that you can use the USB-C port to charge USB-C compatible MacBooks. The USB-C port does not use USB-C Power Delivery, but even with its 15W charging rate, it can still charge a MacBook, just NOT at its max charging rate.

The max output of this power bank is 6.6A. So you can use the max power of 3 ports at once. However, if you’re using 4 ports at once, it can result in slower charging speeds for the standard ports, as the Quick Charge port requires more power to be used.

Input Charging:

The recharging for this EasyAcc power bank is another major part because there are two input ports. The use of two input ports is becoming the norm with most high-capacity portable chargers, and it makes sense to do so because it results in a faster full recharge. This charger has a Micro-USB input port and a USB-C input port.

The Micro-USB input port has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A, while the USB-C input has a recharge rate of 5V/3.0A. Overall, that results in a full recharge rate of 5A, which can recharge this 20,000mAh power bank within 4.5 hours. That’s fast in terms of how much power capacity this charger has. That said, to recharge this power bank at its max recharge rate, you have to make sure that one of the ports on your wall charger features a Quick Charge port to supply full power to the USB-C input and a standard port with a 2 Amp or higher charge rate.

Or you can use one input at a time.

The USB-C input and output are both separate ports.

Design

Size and Weight:

Most of the time, when it comes to high-capacity power banks, you end up with a portable charger that is very large and heavy. Those power banks are slowly going down as brands are getting better at making power banks more compact no matter how much power capacity they have.

This charger has a length of 5.9 inches, a width of 2.9 inches, and a thickness of 0.9 inches. The weight of the charger is 13 Ounces.

So is it larger than a 10,000mAh power bank? Yes, of course, but at the same time, this is much better than a 7-inch power bank that weighs a pound and a half. In this case, it’s at least bearable to hold in your hand as it’s not too heavy and it’s about the same size as an iPhone 7.

Functional Components:

Many are going on with this charger, but it’s actually straightforward to use because you don’t even have to press the power button to get charging started.

All of the Output charging ports are on a single wide side along with an LED flashlight. Yes, we cannot believe it, but somehow, EasyAcc still managed to have a flashlight on this monster power bank. So charging starts automatically with each of the ports, but you have to double-tap the power button that can be found on the length of this power bank when it comes to the LED light.

On the opposite long side is where you’ll find the Micro-USB and USB-C input port.

At the top of the power, the bank is where there are 4 Blue LED power capacity indicators. The indicators turn off after a few seconds of the power bank starting to charge and then turn off. You can check the power capacity by pressing the power button.

Build

Structure and Material:

The entire power bank is made of plastic, and this is to be expected not only from EasyAcc but with most portable chargers. As even Anker, a leading brand, also uses plastic with many of their power banks too. It holds up well with the charger not having any loose parts. That said, we would have liked to have seemed Aluminum with this charger as it’s one of EasyAcc’s best power banks that they have ever released.

Tech:

With so many charging ports, you would think that this charger would be overheating like crazy. But it doesn’t, and that can be attributed to EasyAcc’s careful consideration of how to handle the heat during charging, even when you’re charging 4 devices at once with the max output being reached.

Reliability

With all of its ports, charging power, recharging power, and power capacity, this is basically an ultimate power bank. At the same time, if you’re someone that doesn’t own a Quick Charge compatible power bank and doesn’t even own a USB-C charging cable and has an iPhone that you want to charge. Then it’s best to look for simpler alternatives.

This power bank can be too good for its own good with all of its features. That said, if you do have a smartphone that is Quick Charge compatible, uses USB-C, and you’re searching for a power bank that can charge multiple devices at once quite quickly, then this charger is for you.

Summary:

Power:

Power capacity that can actually be provided to your devices can go down quite a bit, but it’s a small price to pay for the 4 powerful output ports that it features. Another powerful part of this power bank is its use of two input ports and its 5A input recharge rate.

Design:

It’s not a mini power bank by any means, but its size doesn’t exactly state that it’s a high-capacity power bank. It’s also straightforward to use, with you not needing to press any buttons actually to begin charging.

Build:

The build quality of this charger is pretty good; simultaneously, we hope that EasyAcc does more premium feeling portable chargers in the future.

Reliability:

If you’re searching for a power bank that you want to use to charge your smartphone solely, we recommend not getting this power bank. There’s just so much, and you won’t be using all of it.

On the flip side, if you’re in the market for a high-capacity power bank that has some of the best charging can offer, also to mention the recharging, this one is definitely a great choice.
