Wireless charging has grown a lot in recent years, and it’s likely due to iPhones becoming wireless charging compatible. Ever since, there are have been many brands that have risen to sell their own chargers, and at this point, most of them are very similar or downright identical.
However, in this review, we’re taking a look at this KEYSION Black Walnut fast wireless charging pad and stand 2in1. The charger is not only made of wood, but you also have the ability to change its form factor and the way you use the charger. To add to that, the charger is made of real wood, while most others on the market are made of plastic.
Power
Output Charging:
The charging from this KEYSION wireless charger is powerful because it has different fast charging speeds for different Qi wireless charging smartphones. The charger can fast charge Samsung phones at 10W, and it can also charge Huawei, Xiaomi, LG, and Sony phones at 10W under different charging protocols. iPhones can fast charge at 7.5W.
Most other Qi wireless charging compatible phones will charge at 5W, which is the base wireless charging rate.
In our case, we’re able to fast charge a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and an LG G7 simultaneously. We also charged a Note and a Galaxy S6 at the same time. Not exactly charging power-related, this KEYSION wireless charger has five coils; coils in a charger allow charging actually to happen, with more coils allowing charging to happen more consistently without really worrying about where you place your phone.
When you have this charger in its pad form factor, you can palace your phone nearly anywhere on it, and your phone will still charge. Size and Weight:
The charging pad is about 7 inches long, so it can fit any smartphone you want to place on the pad. Paired with the stand attachment, the charger as a whole does not take up a lot of space, and we found it to be perfect on a desktop or anywhere else where you find it convenient to place. Since the charger does have a wooden build, it looks natural in nearly every setting.
Functional Components:
The charger comes with a USB-C AC adapter that you use to power the charger, and it also comes with two USB-C adapters that you use to plug into the stand pieces; this way, you can attach the pad to the stand. The standing piece is a USB-C port that you use to power the charging pad.
The pad itself has two LED power lights that slowly blink blue when you have devices charging.
Build
Structure and Material:
As we’ve mentioned a few times already, this charger is made of Black Walnut wood, and it’s very tough. The charger does have a few rubber attachments to prevent scuffs, but overall this is a wireless charger that stays in a single spot, so it will definitely not wear down easily.
Tech:
The charger does get a little warm during charging, but that is completely normal for wireless charging as heat is always generated no matter what type of charging you’re using.
Reliability
If you’re looking for a charging pad that can be converted into a charging stand, features fast charging, and has a unique build or look to it, then the KEYSION charger can be reliable. There are vast amounts of other wireless chargers that do what this charger does, but few come with a stand attachment and are made of real Black Walnut wood. The charger also comes with an AC adapter, so you can start using it right out of the box.
