Deciding on what wireless charger you want to purchase can be a difficult decision and that’s because there are many of them on the market. That said, wireless chargers are mainly popular because of how convenient they are to use with you being able to just place your smartphone on top of the charger and charge it. When it comes to choosing what type of wireless charger you want, then you should choose one that you expect to get the best experience out of, and this goes for charging speed and also ease of use.

This Moko wireless charger stand is one that you’re going to want to consider getting because of just how easy it is to lay your smartphone on it and at the same time using your phone. That said, it lacks in another area though and that can be a major flaw that can turn you away from not purchasing this Moko wireless charger.

Power

Output Charging:

Wireless charging cannot provide the same charging rate that wired charging can. This Moko wireless charger’s flaw is the charging rate that it outputs and that would be 5V/1.0A. A standard charging rate for most wireless chargers on the market is actually 1 Amp, and that’s because they’re powered by a 2 Amp wall charger. However, that’s not all there is to wireless charging.

There’s also Fast Wireless charging that’s available from wireless chargers that are powered by a Quick Charge wall charger. That results in a wireless charger being able to output a charging rate of 5V/2.0A. Still not as fast as an Android smartphone being able to charge using Quick Charge but it’s still double than the standard wireless charging speed. There’s also a fast wireless charger that’s available for the iPhone X and iPhone 8 which is 7.5W of power or 5V/1.5A in charging terms.

Overall, the main flaw with this Moko wireless charger is that it’s able to output a charging rate of 5V/1.0A only. At the same time, it’s important to know that Fast Wireless charging is available only for Samsung smartphones (10W). Then the 7.5W charging power is only available for the iPhone X and the iPhone 8. So all other Qi compatible Android smartphones charge at a 5W charging rate with a regular or Fast Wireless charger regardless.

So if you do have an Android smartphone that isn’t a Samsung smartphone, then this Moko wireless charger provides optimal power. At the same time, if you do have either a Qi-compatible Samsung or iPhone smartphone then it’s best to look for another charger that can provide the fastest wireless charging rate.

Input Charging:

You must use a 2 Amp wall charger with this Moko wireless charger, and thankfully, this wireless charger actually comes with an AC adapter that has an output charging rate of 5V/2.0A. So you’re able to provide full power to this charger right out of the box and it also comes with a Micro-USB charging cable to use with the Micro-USB input port.

Design

Size and Weight:

This is a wireless charging stand and usually we would count the first measurement as the height, but in this case, because of its more laid back form factor, it’s more of a length. So it has a length of 7.4 inches, the width of this charger is 3.3 inches, and the depth of the charger is 3.1 inches. The weight of it is 4.4 Ounces.

Functional Components:

This is an easy charger to use, as all you have to do is just plug the Micro-USB charging cable to the back of the charger and it’s powered up. Then you can just set your smartphone on top of the charger and it’ll start charging. The best part of this Moko wireless charger is that it features 3 charging coils and that means you’re able to set your smartphone on the charger and forget it. As there’s no worrying if your smartphone is lined up with the charging coil within the charger.

Also, with the use of 3 coils, you can set your smartphone vertically or horizontally and it’ll still keep charging.

There’s an LED light at the bottom of the charger it has a total of three colors

Red– Means that the charger has power and is ready to charge.

Blue – Means that the charger is charging your smartphone.

Green – Means that your smartphone is fully charged and the charger will automatically stop charging, and begin charging again if your smartphone goes below its full charge.

For the most part, the light is actually very small and not noticeable at all because of its placement. That said, the blue light, in particular, is the one light that is quite obstructive in complete darkness.

Build

Structure and Material:

Build quality of this Moko wireless charger is very good and that’s because it’s all just a single piece and it has quite a lot of screws that hold the charger together. There are rubber pads on the bottom of the charger that holds the charger in a single spot.

Tech:

On the tech side, this charger does get warm and that can mostly be attributed to the fact that it has 3 charging coils that are connecting the charging coil to your smartphone.

Reliability

The reliability of this wireless charger is more dependent on what smartphone you own. If you own a Samsung or iPhone X / iPhone 8 then it’s best to pass as it doesn’t feature the Fast Wireless charging that can charge them at their max charging speed (in wireless terms). That said if you have a smartphone that isn’t either of the phones that we mentioned before then this is one of the best wireless chargers that you can get.

Summary:

Power:

Charging power is optimal for smartphones that are Qi compatible but are not Samsung or Qi compatible smartphones or iPhones. As this wireless charger outputs a standard wireless charging speed.

Design:

It’s very easy to use, as it has 3 charging coils. It’s useful with its Three LED colors that indicate different charging levels.

Build:

It has a solid build with many screws keeping the charger together. It does get warm, but that’s really what comes with the use of many coils.

Reliability:

This is a reliable enough charger for standard charging if that’s all you can use with wireless charging.
