A few years back, when power banks were picking up steam, such as when Pokemon Go got released, there was a clear distinction between the size of the charger you’d when it came to power capacity. 5,000mAh power banks were mini-sized, 10,000mAh power banks were medium-sized, and 20,000mAh power banks were large. That’s not the case anymore, as portable charging technology has improved significantly. At this point, a 10,000mAh power bank is smaller than previously known mini power banks, and the better part is that they now use fast charging and have a small size.

This review looks at this MOMAX 10,000mAh mini power bank with Power Delivery and Quick Charge. This can be an excellent choice for charging smartphones if it fits your needs, so let’s look.

Power

Power Capacity:

A 10,000mAh power capacity is meant for charging phones or tablets, but overall it’s mainly meant for phones. You want to charge mainly phones when charging from a 10,000mAh power bank. The Samsung Galaxy S22 has a 3,700mAh battery, while the top-tier Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery. The Googe Pixel 6 has a 4,614mAh battery, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 4,352mAh battery, and then you have to factor in fast charging that lessens the initial power capacity from power banks.

You’ll be fair about a single full charge for most phones, and you may have spare power left over to charge your phone later. Getting two total phone charges is unlikely unless you’re charging an older phone with a 2,000mAh battery that doesn’t use fast charging.

Getting one full recharge for your phone isn’t bad, though, as one charge can keep your phone going for another full day.

Output Charging:

Fast charging Galaxy S20

There are two output ports on this MOMAX power bank. It has a USB-A Quick Charge port and a USB-C Power Delivery port. The USB-C port has a 20W Power Delivery charge rate, and the USB-A port has up to 22.5W output for fast charging Android Quick Charge compatible phones or Huawei fast charging.

Charge rate for only Galaxy S20

The ports and fast charging are perfect for nearly all phones, even for iPhones, as new model iPhones are now compatible with USB-C Power Delivery. You must use a USB-C to Lightning cable to charge iPhones, while Android phones require a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Charging LG G7 and Galaxy S20 at the same time

In our tests, we could fast charge a Galaxy S20 via the USB-C Power Delivery port alone; however, when we charged a Galaxy S20 and an LG G7 simultaneously, each phone would charge at a standard speed. So you can’t fast charge two phones simultaneously because the max output of the power bank becomes 15W when charging two devices. Therefore you can only fast charge one device at a time. Not too bad as this is a 10,000mAh mini power bank with two fast charging ports; the tradeoff of being unable to fast charge two devices simultaneously is a good one.

Input Charging:

Recharging this MOMAX power bank is just as good as output. You can use the USB-C port or the Micro-USB input port for recharging. We recommend using the USB-C port to recharge as it has an 18W recharging speed, while the Micro-USB input port has a 10W recharge rate.

You will need a Power Delivery wall charger to recharge the power bank at its max speed, but that is not included with the power bank.

Design

Size and Weight:

The most surprising part of this MOMAX power bank is the size. The charger has a length of 4.7 inches, a width of 2.3 inches, and a thickness of 0.4 inches. The weight of the power bank is 6.6 ounces.

We had to double-check to ensure this was a 10,000mAh power bank, not a 5,000mAh one. It’s so lightweight, small, and slim. It’s easily the most portable 10,000mAh power bank on the market, and because of its form factor, you can stack your phone on top of the power bank and hold both at the same without any trouble. You can also palace the power bank and your phone in the same pocket.

Functional Components:

Charging automatically starts when you plug a device into the power bank. There is a power button to check the remaining power capacity from the LED power indicators.

Build

Structure and Material:

The power bank has a great build because it’s made of Aluminum Alloy and not plastic, which most power banks are made of.

Tech:

The charger may get a little warm during charging, but that happens with all chargers as heat is continuously generated.

Reliability

If you’re looking for a power bank to charge your phone with, this MOMAX power bank is the best. It has enough capacity to get your phone to full power at least once, features Quick Charge and Power Delivery fast charging, and is incredibly small.

Summary:
