When it comes to the smaller everyday type of portable devices that we use, most of them are now wireless charging compatible, as wireless charging is becoming the future. We may come to the point that devices such as smartphones stop using ports altogether and only go with wireless charging. If you’re someone that owns a wireless charging smartphone, and the chances of that are very high as nearly most modern phones are; also, if you have an Apple Watch or Bluetooth earbuds that use a wireless charging case, then you may want to consider getting this Moxmax Airbox wireless charging power bank.

This Momax Airbox power bank is different from other power banks on the market because it features five different ways to charge, four of which are wireless.

Power

Power Capacity:

The Momax portable charger has a 10,000mAh power capacity, and it’s a pretty good amount that can be useful for charging most phones to full power about two times, as most phones these days have around a 3,000mAh to 5,000mAh battery size.

However, since this power bank can also be used to charge an Apple Watch and wireless earbud charging cases, you may find yourself getting many more full charges for those smaller types of devices. That’s because these types of accessory devices use tiny batteries that can be recharged many times. Hence, a 10,000mAh power capacity is a lot of power in comparison to charging a phone.

Output Charging:

There are a total of four ways to charge your devices with this Airbox power bank, and Momax does mention that this is a 5 in 1 power bank, but that one other method of use is simply being able to store your Apple Pencil inside the power bank if you have one.

The fastest way to charge your devices with this power bank is to use the USB-C port. The USB-C port has a 20W Power Delivery charging speed, which can fast charge iPhones, especially the iPhone 12 and the new iPhone 13 series at 20W. That said, you will need to use a USB-C to Lightning cable to charge iPhones with a USB-C port. On the other hand, most Android smartphones will also be to fast to charge using the USB-C port, and you’ll need to use a USB-C to USB-C cable to fast charge them.

Moving onto the wireless charging, all of that is done from within the power bank. Opening up the power bank, you’ll find that there are compartments to place your Apple Watch, earbuds case, Apple Pencil, and your phone.

The wireless charging rate for phones is 10W, and that’s enough for fast charging Samsung phones and iPhones. The charge rate from the Apple Watch and the earbuds case pad is 5W, the max charge rate that these smaller devices can receive. So you’re getting the best possible wireless charging speeds for portable devices that you’re able to get, but in this case, you’re able to take all your devices with you on the go.

Input Charging:

There are two ways to recharge that power bank. You can either wirelessly recharge another device, which is the method you’re unlikely to use, or you can recharge it via the USB-C Power Delivery port and recharge the power bank at 18W. We recommend using the USB-C port to recharge the power bank with a 20W Power Delivery wall charger to recharge it at its max speed.

Design

Size and Weight:

This Momax Airbox power bank is only a tad bit larger than a regular 10,000mAh power bank because this one has quite a few charging methods and has an open-up mechanism that you won’t find on any other regular power banks.

The charger has a length of 7 inches, a width of 3 inches, and a thickness of 1 inch. The power bank is quite a bit heavier than a regular 10,000mAh power bank, too, weighing 13 ounces. This is just shy of 1 pound. However, this power bank can still let you be portable and charge your phone via the USB-C port, but when it comes to wireless charging, you’re going to have to set it down and charge your devices.

Functional Components:

Using this Airbox power bank is simple. On the outside of the power bank, there are LED power indicators. The four White power indicators show the remaining power capacity, the Green one shows fast charging from the USB-C port, and the two Orange lights show wireless charging status.

The Orange LED indicator to the left is for the phone wireless charging and turns on when you are charging. The one Orange light to the right is for earbud cases or an Apple Watch charging.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of this Airbox power bank is incredible for a first build. The hinge of the power bank is strong, and even it’s all made out of plastic, it all feels sturdy, like it’s meant to last. The power bank even has hold points on the outside that make it easier to open it.

Tech:

One of the most prevalent things about wireless charging is the heat generated, and in this case, the power bank does get a little warm when using wireless charging, but that is entirely normal. It never got hot during usage.

Reliability

The reliability of this power bank is best for those that have a wireless charging smartphone and own an Apple Watch or earbuds case that is wireless charging compatible.

Summary:

Power:

There is enough power capacity to charge most phones to full power either once or twice, but when it comes to smaller devices like Apple Watches or earbuds cases, you can get many more full charges as they have smaller batteries. The fastest way to charge your phone is via the USB-C port, but wireless charging from this power bank is the fastest you can get when it comes to compatible devices.

Design:

The power bank is a bit larger and heavier than a regular power bank. Using the power bank is simple as you open it up, place your devices on the correct pad, and press the power button to begin wireless charging. There are LED power lights outside the power bank that tell of certain functions.

Build:

The power bank has a great build, with the hinges being strong, and it doesn’t get hot even though you can charge four devices simultaneously.

Reliability:

This power is reliable for those with a wireless charging smartphone (very likely) and an Apple Watch or an earbuds case that can wirelessly charge.

Being able to charge your accessories and your smartphone on the same charger may be one of the most convenient ways you use a power bank.
