If you have a Power Delivery compatible device, whether it’s a smartphone or a laptop, one of the most useful charging electronics that you can own is a portable charger. As you can fast charge larger devices such as a laptop with a portable charger, and that can be quite convenient as you no longer have to rely on a wall charger, or even worse, a charging brick.

For the most part, many high capacity Power Delivery portable chargers on the market have some very powerful Power Delivery charging. What do we mean by that? Well, there are power banks such as Anker’s PowerCore+ 26800 charger that has a 30W USB-C PD charging speed. Another power bank with PD is Jackery’s SuperCharge power bank that has a 45W USB-C Power Delivery charging speed, which is even more helpful as it can be used to charge more powerful laptops.

Both of the power banks that we mentioned have very high power capacities of 26,800mAh and so that enforces the power of the power bank even more.

Then there’s this Nimble 26,800mAh Power Delivery portable charger that has a ton of power and actually makes use of four output ports. The brand is known for their careful attention to the environment with the materials that their chargers are made of. Their chargers are also quite powerful as we mentioned in their 10,000mAh Power Delivery charger review.

However, this 26,800mAh power bank of theirs is quite different. In some ways, better, and other ways, it’s actually worse than its lower capacity versions.

Power

Power Capacity:

So the power capacity of this portable charger is a high one with it starting out at 26,800mAh. Even without converting the power capacity, you’re still going to be able to use quite a lot, but of course, let’s figure out how much you’re really able to use.

3.7 x 26,800 = 96,480 / 5 = 19,296

Most of the time you’re going to be able to use about 20,000mAh of the power capacity that this Nimble power bank has to offer. It quite a bit lower than the initial power capacity of 26,800mAh, but just keep in mind that a conversion of power during charging happens with every power bank.

Also, with a 20,000mAh power capacity that you can actually use, you’re able to charge most smartphones to full power about fives times or more. Considering that most smartphones these days have a 3,000mAh battery capacity, you’re able to charge them to full power about six times. Even charging larger 4,000mAh battery capacity smartphones can result in about five full charges.

Then there’s charging laptops with this power bank, which can be done and will result in about two full charges for most laptops that have a 7,000mAh battery. However, charging a power bank with this Nimble charger is quite limited and that’s because of the charging power from the USB-C Power Delivery port.

What do we mean by that? Well, let’s take a look at what the ports are capable of.

Output Charging:

We just want to start off by saying that the use of four ports is outstanding with this power bank, as there are few high capacity power banks that make use of this many ports. Most high capacity Power Delivery portable chargers such as the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 has three ports, and the Jackery SuperCharge that also has a 26,800mAh power capacity only makes use of two ports.

However, the main part of getting this power bank is rather lacking with its power and that would be the USB-C Power Delivery port.

What’s wrong with the Power Delivery from this power bank? Well, that would be the fact that this high capacity power bank has an 18W Power Delivery charging speed.

When it comes to very high capacity power banks that feature Power Delivery, the expectation is for them to have a 30W charging rate or more. Such as the PowerCore+ 26,800 with its 30W Power Delivery charging speed, or the Jackery SuperCharge’s even higher 45W charging rate.

The 18W charging speed from this power bank is the starting from Power Delivery that’s best to fast charging Power Delivery compatible smartphones. Sure, you can charge a USB-C MacBook faster with this port rather than standard 15W USB-C port, but that’s really where we draw the line.

As this power bank has such a high power capacity that we expect it to charge Power Delivery compatible laptops, and this might not always be a MacBook for most people. On the Power Delivery side, this power bank could use an upgrade to 30W, where it’s meant to be.

Other Three Ports

The other three ports on this power bank are USB-A ports.

One of the USB-A ports features Quick Charge, so you can fast charge Quick Charge compatible smartphones with it.

The other two ports have a standard charging speed of 5V/2.4A.

Okay so overall, this power bank has some great charging power, as it features two fast charging technologies. That said, the main flaw is with the Power Delivery charging and how it only has 18W of charging power when it should have more.

Might they have to let one port down to increase the power? Maybe, but it’ll be worth it in terms of the quality that this power bank has to offer.

Input Charging:

To recharge this power bank you have to use the USB-C input port and you can recharge the power bank at its max charging speed right out of the box as it comes with a USB-C Power Delivery wall charger.

Design

Size and Weight:

With the usage of a massive power capacity and four charging ports, you best believe that this charger is going to be quite large.

That’s because it has a length of 7.2 inches, a width of 3 inches and a thickness of 1 inch. The weight of the power bank is about 1.4 pounds.

Is it a power bank that you can hold in your hand while you’re walking around? Sure. But you’re not going to want to do that for long. You can even place this charger into a pocket, too.

Best way to use it is to just place it down, though.

Functional Components:

Nimble 10,000mAh Power Delivery and Quick Charge Portable Charger

The functional parts of this charger are consolidated into one area. Mostly.

All of the charging ports are on a single side.

Then on one short-side is where you’ll find six power indicators and a power button.

So having six power indicators with a power bank is quite uncommon, but one of the power indicators acts as a charging indicator. The charging indicator changes from Green to show standard charging or to Orange to show that either Quick Charge or Power Delivery is being used.

The other five power indicators are increments of 20% for the power capacity.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of the power bank is pretty good, but since it’s made of recycled materials, and biodegradable ones too, the charger feels a bit more grainy in the hands. Other than that, it looks and functions just like any other portable charger.

Tech:

Since this Nimble charger makes use of four charging ports, and you’re able to charge four devices at once, it can get a tad warm.

Reliability

This Nimble portable charger is mostly reliable with its use of a massive 26,800mAh power capacity, four charging ports, two of which use Power Delivery and Quick Charge and it also comes with a Power Delivery wall charger.

That said, the unreliable portion might be a big hit if you’re looking for a higher output of Power Delivery as this one has an 18W charging rate from its USB-C port.

Summary:

Power:

The power capacity is plentiful and the use of four ports is welcoming. It could use some improvement with its output power in regards to its Power Delivery charging.

Design:

The size of the charger is quite large and it’s also heavy. That said, it’s still simple to take anywhere that you want and its function of showing when standard or fast charging is going on is quite welcoming.

Build:

The build quality of the power bank is great, but it can get a little warm if you’re charging four devices at once.

Reliability:

The portable charger’s use of Power Delivery and Quick Charge, a very high power capacity and four ports, make it quite reliable. The usage of a higher Power Delivery output is definitely a must for those that are looking to charge a Power Delivery compatible laptop with it.

Conclusion:

The Nimble 26,800mAh Power Delivery portable charger has a lot to offer, but if you want to charge a Power Delivery compatible laptop at a fast charging speed, then it’s best to look for alternative elsewhere.

For now, at least.
