Most of us are accustomed to using USB wall chargers that have about 1 to 4 charging ports and the level beyond that are USB charging stations. USB charging stations usually have 5-6 charging ports. Then it goes even further than that with there even being 10-port USB charging stations and these might seem like a bit too much but there are of course those that can find these types of chargers very useful as there’s quite a few of them being sold out on the market.

The main reason that we even mention 10-port USB charging stations is that this is a review for one, specifically for this NTONPOWER 10-Port charging station. It’s quite different than other chargers that also have as much charging ports and that can very well be a reason that you should consider buying it. From its power to its design, this NTONPOWER has a lot going on, so let’s take a closer look.

Power

Output Charging:

The main part of this charger is, of course, its 10 USB charging ports. The charging speed of each of the ports is 5V/2.4A and therefore it can charge most USB chargeable devices such as smartphones and tablets at their max charging speeds. However, none of the ports features Quick Charge so just know that you won’t be able to charge your Quick Charge device at its max charging speed with any of the ports.

What makes this charging better than most other 10-Port USB charging stations is that it has a max output of 24A. Yes, that’s a very high max output of power and it’s actually the most amount of power that a 10-port charging station is able to output. That’s because 2.4  x 10 = 24 and as a result, that means you’re able to use the max power of each of the ports at the same time if you wanted to. There are very few other chargers that are able to do such a thing and to just put it into perspective you can basically charge 10 Apple iPads at the same time, with all of them charging at their max power as an iPad has a max charging speed of 5V/2.4A.

There really are no limits to the power that this charger has to offer when it comes to standard charging. Although, it would have been nice to see a Quick Charge port or possibly two ports that use Quick Charge for those that own Quick Charge compatible devices.

Design

Size and Weight:

You might notice that not all 10-Port USB charging stations are quite as large as this NTONPOWER charger when you look around on the market. Well, that’s because this charger uses a few fans on the inside and it also uses more power and therefore that’s what makes it large. Of course, it also uses holders at the top, so that’s another reason why it’s larger and heavier. That said, we just wanted to make it clear that there’s a reason why this charger is the size and weight that it is.

It has a length 9.3 inches, a width of 5.1 inches and a thickness of 3.5 inches. So it’s a large USB charging station that has a weight of 2.5 pounds. Definitely not small by any means, but of course as we mentioned it’s all for the sake of providing more to you with a cooling system in place.

Functional Components:

This NTONPOWER charging station does have a few functional parts that are important to know about and provide a great user experience.

The first functional parts that we want to mention are at the front and that would be where the 10 USB ports are aligned vertically. To left of the charging ports is where there’s a single Blue LED power indicator that shows you whether the charger is on or off. The space between the USB ports is pretty good but with this amount of ports, things can get quite chaotic if you’re not using short cables to charge your devices, and one of the best ways to organize your devices is by using the top holders.

There are 10 holding spaces on the top and I would say that they could be spaced apart further but then that would, of course, make the charger larger as a whole. The holders work quite well when you place a smartphone in them, but they’re a bit too small to properly hold a large tablet.

On the back is where the 4-foot power cord is plugged in and that’s also where the power switch is located. The power switch is one of the best parts of this charger as you don’t have to unplug the charger and you can just press the power button to turn it ON and to turn it OFF.

At the bottom is where there are rubber grips and they do a great job at keeping the charging station is a single spot.

Build

Structure and Material:

The charger is mostly made of ABS and it’s built quite well. The components feel solid when you use them and that includes the power button and USB ports, which are the main parts that you actually use with the charger.

Tech:

As we mentioned before this charger uses fans as a way to cool down when things get too heated and that is one of the main reasons that you’re able to use up 24A of max power. If the charging station goes beyond 200 degrees Celsius then it automatically turns off to prevent any damage to you or your devices.

Reliability

The reliable part with this USB charging station is really good of course, with the fact that you can charge 10 devices at the same time. The other reason being is that you can use the max output of power of each port because the max output of power is 24A.

Summary:

Power:

There’s no shortage of power with its 10 ports, each outputting 5V/2.4A and the max output of the charger is 24A. The one thing that could have made the charging experience better, though, could have been the implementation of Quick Charge for compatible smartphones.

Design:

It’s a large and heavy USB charging station but that’s because the charger uses fans and it also uses holders at the top. Speaking of the holders, they’re great for holding smartphones but not the best for tablets.

Build:

Its build quality is sturdy and the use of fans is able to keep things cool. That said, if things do get too heated then the charger does have the ability to turn off automatically.

Reliability:

It’s a very reliable charging station not only with its 10 USB ports but also how you’re able to use a lot of power at the same time. The main part that could have made it better is the use of Quick Charge.

Specs of the NTONPOWER 10-Port USB Charging Station:

  • Output:

  • Type-C: No
  • LED Power Indicator: Has a Blue Power Indicator
  • Size: 9.3 x 5.1 x 3.5 inches

Conclusion:

This NTONPOWER USB charging station is a rare breed of chargers as there are few that are as powerful as it, but it does indeed go the extra mile with its powering. You just have to really think if you’re ready for that much power.
