Power banks are a great type of charger; at this point, you can choose a wide range of portable chargers, from high-capacity ones that feature fast charging to lower capacities that may only have one or two fast charging ports. It’s all dependent on your choice.

In this review, I’m looking at this PowerAdd Pro 10,000mAh 20W Power Delivery power bank; this is one of the simplest portable chargers you can buy, but it still features fast charging and a small and slim form factor that can be taken anywhere. Nothing too special, but this PowerAdd power bank fits most consumer needs.

Power Capacity

Since this power bank has a 10,000mAh capacity, it’s mainly meant for charging phones, but you can also use it to charge tablets. That said, tablets may only get a single full charge or have at least close to a full charge from this power bank.

For charging phones, well, most modern phones have rather large batteries, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra having a 5,000mAh battery, and in that case, you may fair one full charge and have some spare capacity to use later. Some phones may get two full charges out of this power bank if they have a small enough battery.

Overall, the 10,000mAh capacity is alright, and it’s best used for charging phones, but be ready to recharge the power bank at the end of the day if you’ve used it heavily. Also, a smaller capacity is a great thing for the size and weight of the power bank, as you can easily be portable with this one.

Output Charging

All around, the charging ports on this PowerAdd power bank are good. Nothing too amazing, but for a 10,000mAh power bank, charging power is great for fast charging of nearly all phones.

There’s a 20W USB-C Power Delivery port and a USB-A Quick Charge port with an 18W output. You can use the USB-C port to fast charge nearly all Android phones, and it can also be used to fast charge iPhones via a USB-C to Lightning cable. The USB-A Quick Charge port is mainly for fast charging Android phones but can still be used with non-Quick Charge devices.

In my test, I could fast charge a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in front of the USB-C port. While fast charging the Note 9, I could also standard charge an LG G7 front USB-A port. So you’re not able to fast charge two phones at the same time with this power bank which is understandable, and being able to fast charge at least one phone with another standard charging is pretty good.

Also, just a side note, this power bank is not meant for charging laptops, as the 20W PD output isn’t enough to charge most laptops.

Input Charging

For recharging, you can use the USB-C or Micro-USB port to recharge the power bank. You can use either input to recharge it because both ports recharge the power bank at 18W. The USB-C port may be more accessible to recharge as the Micro-USB is a rather old port. An 18W input for a 10,000mAh capacity is good enough.

Design

Size and Weight

Besides the charging power, one of the top reasons to get this power bank is its size and weight. This charger has a length of 5.9 inches, a width of 3.6 inches, and a thickness of 0.6 inches. It weighs 8 ounces.

So this power bank is smaller than most phones, and the slim form factor allows you to easily place it into your pocket.

Functional Components

It’s just like using any other modern power bank. Charging automatically starts once you plug a device into the ports. A power button to the side can turn on the top screen, showing the remaining capacity and fast charging status.

Build

Structure and Material

The build quality of this power bank is great. It’s just made of plastic, but in my experience with using it, the charger has a solid build and is made for daily use.

Tech

On the technical side, this power bank only got a little warm when I was fast charging my Galaxy Note 9, and that was it.

Reliability

The PowerAdd Pro 10,000mAh power bank is most reliable for charging phones and tablets; however, more so for phones as the capacity is pretty low. Also, the charging power fits into fast charging phones, including iPhones and Android phones, as the 20W USB-C Power Delivery is compatible with fast charging of both types. This power bank is not meant for charging laptops as 20W of Power Delivery is not very much.

Also, the small and slim form factor is another major reliable factor because this power bank is about the size of a phone and can easily fit into the same pocket you have your phone in.
