A wall charger is a charging electronic that you likely already use, as you probably got a wall charger that came with your smartphone. Most of the time, the wall chargers that come with smartphones only use a single charging port. That can be a problem if you want to charge more than a single device at a time. Another thing is that the wall charger that comes with Quick Charge compatibility only has a single port that uses Quick Charge.

That’s why there are wall chargers such as this PowerPort Speed 2 Anker charger that actually uses two Quick Charge ports. It’s not just a wall charger that those with Quick Charge compatible smartphones will find reliable; it’s also good for those with Non-Compatible Quick Charge phones.

Power

Output Charging:

Fast charging a Samsung Galaxy S8 and a Galaxy S6 at the same time.

There are two charging ports on this PowerPort Speed 2, just as the name implies. Each of the two ports features Quick Charge, and since the max output of this charger is 39W, you can actually use the max power of the two ports at the same time. Meaning that you can charge two Quick Charge compatible smartphones, such as a Galaxy S9 and an LG V35 ThinQ, at their max charging speed at once. So it’s great if you and friends or family have a Quick Charge compatible smartphone.

Also, charging Non-Quick Charge compatible smartphones and other devices such as tablets is possible with this charger, as each of the ports will default to a 5V/2.4A charging speed.

Design

Size and Weight:

The size of nearly any wall charger on the market will be quite small and lightweight, and this PowerPort Speed 2 is no different as this charger has a length of 4.5 inches, a width of 4.3 inches, and a thickness of 1.2 inches. The weight of the charger is 6.4 Ounces. So it’s quite a small charger that you’re able to take it anywhere that you want. We will say that it is quite large for a 2-port wall charger, but the reason for that is because of its use of Quick Charge with both of its ports.

Functional Components:

Just like any wall charger, you plug it into an AC outlet, and you’re ready to use it. Both of the charging ports are on the same side, and each of them is colored Blue. Above the two charging ports is a LED power indicator light and above the LED light is where there’s a light sensor.

Yes, there’s a light sensor on this wall charger, and basically, what it does is that it dims the light once the room you’re in is dark, and if it’s bright in your room, then the light becomes bright, so it’s easier to see. This is a way for the LED light not to disturb you when you’re trying to sleep and charge your devices simultaneously.

One slightly negative part of this charger is that it does not use a retractable AC adapter.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of nearly all Anker products is great, and this one PowerPort Speed 2 wall charger is no different. Even though the charger is made of plastic, it holds very well, and it has a slightly rough texture to it. Also, we realize that we said that a Non-Retractable AC adapter is basically negative. Still, at the same time, it’s also a positive as there’s less of a chance of the products breaking from taking them out and retracting them constantly.

Tech:

On the tech side, if you’re charging two Quick Charge compatible smartphones at the same time with this wall charger, then you can expect it to get a little warm during charging, as it’s 36W that’s being outputted from such as small form factor device.

If you’re charging two Non-Quick Charge devices, then it won’t get warm at all.

Reliability

The PowerPort Speed 2 wall charger is definitely geared for those that own Quick Charge compatible smartphones, and if you know, someone else can benefit from the Quick Charge tech as both of the ports use the fast charging tech.

Simultaneously, since the wall charger is also able to output a fast 5V/2.4A standard charging speed, it’s also reliable even if you don’t own a Quick Charge compatible smartphone.

Summary:

Power:

Charging power from this wall charger is great as each of the two ports can charge Quick Charge compatible smartphones at their max charging speed.

Design:

This charger’s design is straightforward, and it’s quite innovative with its use of a light sensor that adjusts the brightness of the power light depending on how bright it is in your room.

Build:

The build is solid, and it can actually be better not to use a retractable AC adapter as there’s less of a chance of it breaking.

Reliability:

This wall charger is mostly meant for Quick Charge compatible smartphone users, but at the same time, you can still make optimum use of this charger with a Non-Quick Charge smartphone.
