RAVPower 2-Port USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger with Quick Charge
- Features Both Power Delivery and Quick Charge
- Makes use of a retractable AC adapter that makes portability even easier
- You can't use the full power of Power Delivery and Quick Charge at the same time
Even though most people want larger batteries with their smartphones or newer battery tech, the truth is that new battery tech is a bit more into the future.
However, what’s more current that you can look forward to is fast charging tech. Many smartphones on the market are getting larger batteries, and with that, there needs to be faster charging to match. The two most accessible and used fast charging technologies on the market are Power Delivery and Quick Charge.
In this review, we’re going to be taking a look at RAVPower’s 2-Port Power Delivery wall charger with Quick Charge.
Even the form factor of this charger is very simple, it’s still quite powerful with its two ports.
One port is a USB-C Power Delivery port that has an 18W charging speed. Most think that just because a USB-C port makes use of Power Delivery charging that it can charge larger devices such as laptops that are USB-C Power Delivery compatible. That’s simply not true.
With this USB-C port’s 18W charging rate, it’s really meant for fast charging USB-C Power Delivery compatible smartphones, or basically USB-C phones. These types of smartphones include Samsung Galaxy S8, S9, S10, Galaxy Note phones, Google Pixel, and also the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone XS.
The newer iPhones do still use a Lightning port but can be fast charged with a USB-C to Lightning cable.
We’re not saying that the Power Delivery can’t charge USB-C laptops at all, you’ll be able to charge a USB-C MacBook with it, but that’s as far as you should take it. As most laptops on the market require 30W of PD charging power or more.
The other port on this RAVPower wall charger is a USB-A port that features Quick Charge. So you can fast charge Quick Charge compatible smartphones with this port. This Quick Charge port can also charge non-Quick Charge compatible smartphones, too.
The one letdown part of this charger is that you can only use one fast charging method at a time. That’s because if you’re charging just a single device with one of the ports, the output for each is 18W.
When charging with two devices at once, the max output of the charger drops down to 15W that is shared between the two ports. As a result, you’re not able to fast charge a Power Delivery and a Quick Charge device at the same time.
Size and Weight:
The charger is practically a cube with its length/width being the same at 1.9 inches. The thickness of teh charger is 1.1 inches. The weight of the charger is 2.4 ounces.
Even with its faster charging, there is no effect on the form factor and so you can fit this fast charger into a pocket if you want to.
Using the charger is very simple. It makes use of a retractable AC adapter that snaps out and is then ready to plug into an AC outlet.
Once the RAVPower wall charger is plugged into an AC outlet, there’s a Blue LED light that turns on above the two ports to indicate that it’s powered and ready to use.
Structure and Material:
The entire housing of the charger is made of plastic, just as most wall chargers on the market do. It has a solid build and the ports hold on strong to cables that you place into them.
Whether you’re fast charging one device at a time, or charging two devices at once, the charger does not overheat. Limiting charging power for when you’re charging two devices at once is definitely done to prevent overheating.
Otherwise overheating would happen if you were able to fast charge a Power Delivery and a Quick Charge device at the same time, with this being such a small form factor wall charger.
The reliability of this wall charger depends on whether or not you can take advantage of one of the two fast charging ports.
If you either have a Power Delivery or Quick Charge compatible smartphone, this wall charger holds quite a lot of value. Even more so if you have a USB-C Android smartphone that is Quick Charge compatible; that way, you can practically use either port for fast charging.
As for using the Power Delivery port for fast charging larger devices such as laptops, then that’s a “No”. As 18W of charging power isn’t exactly enough for most laptops on the market.
Individual charging power from each of the ports is great, but when it comes to charging two devices at once, you can’t use the full power of the two ports and have to settle for standard charging.
With its use of a retractable AC adapter, the charger becomes a cube that you can basically take anywhere.
The charger doesn’t overheat, and it’s likely due to the limiting of power for when you’re charging two devices at once.
Great for fast charging USB-C Android smartphones or Power Delivery compatible smartphones that are Android and also newer iPhones.
What this charger is not reliable for is for charging USB-C laptops.

The use of fast charging technologies in small form factors is one of the best parts of charging these days. This RAVPower wall charger may be perfect at fast charging two devices at once, but having two of the most used fast charging methods at your fingertips is highly useful.
