Most of the time when it comes to Magnetic Apple Watch portable chargers, they tend to have very low power capacities, such as 5,000mAh. Well, that’s not exactly a low power capacity if you’re charging an Apple Watch, but it is on the low side if the power bank is also able to charge other devices such as a smartphone with a USB port. However, there are power banks that have more power capacity than 5,000mAh that features a Magnetic charger and that would be this UGreen 10,000mAh Magnetic Apple Watch portable charger.

So this UGreen charger definitely has a high power capacity in comparison to what most other Magnetic portable chargers feature, and the amount of devices that you’re able to charge at the same time is also quite a lot more, too. So let’s see if this is truly the Swiss Army Knife of Apple Watch portable chargers.

Power

Power Capacity:

The power capacity of this is UGreen is power bank is 10,000mAh, so you’re definitely able to get many full charges for an Apple Watch, of course, but let’s see how much of that initial power capacity you’re actually able to use.

3.7 x 10,000 = 37,000 / 5 = 7,400

DevicesOittm 5,000mAh Magnetic Portable Charger (Output Capacity = 3,700mAh)Device CapacityOittm 5,000mAh Magnetic Portable Charger Left Over Capacity after One Charge

2.6 Full Charges
iPhone X7,000mAh2,716mAh4284mAh Left Over Capacity

2.5 Full Charges

So you’re able to use about 7,000mAh to actually charge your devices. Since most Apple Watches have a 250mAh battery capacity, you can expect 20 full charges. The Apple Watch Series 3 has a slightly larger battery with a 279mAh battery that will result in a similar amount of full charges. That said, even though the main selling point of this power bank is that you can use charge your Apple Watch while out and about, charging other devices, such as smartphones to full power is also possible with this power bank.

You can very well charge an iPhone X, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S8 or an iPhone 8 to their full power at least twice with this power bank. That said, to charge those smartphones, which have a 3,000mAh battery capacity or at least close it, you would need to charge them at a single time and have nothing else charging with this UGreen portable charger.

Overall, it’s quite impressive that this Apple portable charger has such as high power capacity, and it’s not only meant for charging an Apple Watch, but for smartphones, too.

Output Charging:

There are a total of three ways to charge from this power bank, which makes it even more of a reason to purchase it, as there are not many 10,000mAh power banks on the market that use three output ports, and much less that use an Apple Watch Magnetic Charger.

The first charging method that we want to mention is, of course, the magnetic charger that’s able to charge any Apple Watch of any series. The magnetic charger has a 5V/1.0A charging speed that can charge the Apple Watch at its max charging speed.

The power bank also has a built-in Lightning charging cable, which basically makes it double reliable for those that own an Apple Watch and own an iPhone, which is likely the type of smartphone that you have if you’re reading this review. The built-in cable on this power bank has a 5V/1.0A charging speed, and that’s not very fast when it comes to charging smartphones in general, so don’t expect your iPhone to charge as fast as it would with a 2 Amp charger.

One other output port with this power bank is the USB-A port that can be used with any charging cable to charge any USB chargeable device. The charging speed of the USB-A port is actually quite fast as it has a 5V/2.4A charging speed and that’s basically the fastest standard charging speed that you can get.

Input Charging:

To recharge this power bank, you can use the Micro-USB input port, and it has a 5V/2.1A recharging speed. So we recommend using a 2.4 Amp USB wall charger to make sure that the power bank is able to recharge at it max charging speed.

Design

Size and Weight:

A 10,000mAh power bank, even with its power capacity is still able to maintain a relatively small form factor and that’s definitely the case with this UGreen portable charger. It has a length of 5.7 inches, a width of 1.5 inches, and a thickness of 1 inch. The weight of the charger is 10.4 Ounces. So it’s actually very small and simple enough to place into your pocket, or you can hold it, too.

The only problem is that it is packing quite a bit of weight.

Functional Components:

The functional parts of this power bank are in the same general location. With the USB-A port and Micro-USB port being on the same side, and right next to them there’s the built-in Lightning cable that goes in a small compartment.

Off to the long length side of the power bank is where there’s the power button that you have to press to begin charging from any of the outputs, and there are four White LED power capacity indicators.

On top of the power bank is where you’ll find the large white Apple Watch Magnetic Charger.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of this UGreen power bank is built just like any other regular power bank as the entire structure of the charger is made of plastic. So just don’t go dropping it onto hard-flooring or exposing it to water.

Tech:

On the tech side, this power bank can get quite warm if you’re charging three devices at once for a long duration, but that’s normal as there’s more amperage being outputted all at once.

Reliability

This is a very reliable power bank with its use of three output ports, one being the Apple magnetic charger, a built-in Lighting cable and also a USB port that can be used with any charging cable. That said, because of the use of a magnetic charging plate and a Lightning cable, we think that this power bank was more geared to those that own an iPhone and an Apple Watch, since if you own one then you likely own the other.

Summary:

Power:

The power bank has quite a high power capacity for an Apple Watch portable charger and because of that, there’s enough power to charge an Apple Watch and other devices such as smartphones to their full power multiple times, too. The charger also has three ways of charging.

Design:

It’s a small power bank despite its use of three charging methods and it’s so small that you’re able to fit it into your pocket.

Build:

The build quality of this power bank is quite good but you should be careful about dropping it onto hard-flooring as it’s not shockproof.

Reliability:

The reliability of this power bank hits many points, but it’s most reliable for iPhone and Apple watch users.
