A Power Delivery wall charger is the most reliable type of charger you can own because there are now ones with high outputs and are still incredibly small. There are also wall chargers with two ports and can charge larger devices such as laptops while charging your smartphone.

In this review, we’re taking a look at this UGREEN 65W dual USB-C Power Delivery wall charger. This charger is a simple but powerful one that most consumers will find helpful with the use of USB-C fast charging.

Power

Output Charging:

This UGREEN charger has simple charging, as we mentioned, because it has two USB-C ports and the charging power that you’re getting is easy to understand, too. Each of the ports can output 66W when charging a single device; with a 66W Power Delivery charge rate, you’re able to charge most USB-C laptops at a fast rate; although some may not charge at their max speed, it’s still a fast enough charging speed.

Charging two devices simultaneously does split charging power, with one USB-C port outputting 45W and the other port outputting 20W. A 45W charge rate still lets you charge most USB-C laptops, albeit at a slower speed, but at the same time, you can fast-charge most phones.

In our case, we charged at a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 along with Samsung Galaxy S20; the Lenovo laptop was able to charge at a relatively fast speed, and the Galaxy S20 was able to fast charge.

This UGREEN charger also features Programmable Power Supply (PPS) charging that can Super fast charge the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 smartphones. However, for PPS charging to happen, you have to charge your compatible phones alone, so when we charge the Galaxy S20 independently, it could charge at 25W.

Design

Size and Weight:

This UGREEN 65W charger does not use GaN, and it somewhat shows with the size of the charger as it does have a bit of bulkiness, but at the same time, most wouldn’t notice as it’s still pretty small. The charger does have a length/width of 2.6 inches and a thickness of 1 inch. While most GaN chargers would be flat out 2 x 1, this one does have a bit more size, but it’s not noticeable unless you’re specifically searching for a GaN charger size.

That said, the charger is still easily portable with its foldable plug and size.

Functional Components:

Like using any wall charger, you have to unfold the plugs and plug them into an outlet. The charger does not have any power lights to show that it’s on, though. The two USB-C ports are labeled, with one being USB-C 1 and the other being USB-C 2, but they’re both capable of the same power output.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of this charger is excellent, and we couldn’t find any negatives from its structure as it has a solid functioning foldable plug, and the overall casing is sound.

Tech:

The charger does get a little warm during charging, but other than that, technically speaking, there was nothing wrong with the safety of this charger with how it performed.

Reliability

This UGREEN charger is most reliable if you have a USB-C chargeable laptop and want to charge another device while you charge your laptop; the other device can be a smartphone or a tablet. You can charge your laptop faster when charging it alone as you can use the total 66W max output.

This charger is even more reliable if you own a PPS fast charging smartphone such as a Samsung Galaxy S21 or a Galaxy S20, as these phones can charge at 25W, which is faster than the standard 18W charge rate.

Summary:

Power:

Charging power is pretty good with a 66W max output when you use a single port or a split 45W and 20W output when charging two devices. This lets you charge a laptop and fast charge another device simultaneously.

Design:

The charger is small, but it does not feature GaN, so it doesn’t have that “tiny” size factor that GaN chargers generally have. However, with its foldable plug, you may not notice much of a difference.

Build:

The charger has a great build that can withstand constant usage and travel.

Reliability:

It’s best to get this UGREEN charger if you’re looking to charge your USB-C laptop and have the option to charge another device. Suppose you own a PPS super-fast charging phone such as a OnePlus phone, Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, or the new Google Pixel 6. In that case, this UGREEN charger may also be reliable because it features PPS fast charging. That said, you can only use this charge rate when charging a single device at a time.
