  • Great build quality, and possibly one of the best on the market currently

Cons

  • Priced higher than other Power Delivery chargers, but that's because it's capable of so much

There are all sorts of Power Delivery chargers. However, it took some time to reach this point where Power Delivery chargers are common. That’s because the devices compatible with USB-C PD charging had to be common, and now they are, for the most part. Since that’s the case, the charger you use should have a USB-C port and be powerful enough to charge most USB-C devices, and we think this UGREEN 100W Power Delivery wall charger may be the most reliable.

The charger has three USB-C PD ports and one USB-A port; it has a 100W max power output to top it off. Even charging multiple devices still calls for ample charging power going to each device.

Power

Output Charging:

The power output of this UGREEN 100W PD wall charger is 100W, and depending on how many devices you’re charging simultaneously, you’ll be getting a different amount of charging power. That said, the first thing to know is that USB-C 1 and USB-C 2 are the only ports that can output 100W, and they can only do so if you’re charging only a single device with this UGREEN wall charger.

Charging two devices, one charging from USB-C 1 and the other from USB-C 2, will result in USB-C 1 outputting 65W and USB-C 2 outputting 30W. The same is true for charging from any other ports, so if you’re charging from USB-C 1 or USB-C 2 and charging from the USB-A port or USB-C 3, then USB-C 1 or USB-C 2 will drop to 65W.

Of course, a 65W Power Delivery charging speed is still enough to charge most USB-C laptops, and if you need the full 100W Power Delivery, you can get it by charging just a single device.

USB-C 3 also features Power Delivery, but it has a lower 22.5W output, and the USB-A port features Quick Charge. Charging from all four devices simultaneously results in USB-C 1 outputting 45W, USB-C 2 outputting 30W, and USB-C 3, and the USB-A port has a 10W output.

In our tests, we charged a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 laptop with USB-C 1, a Microsoft Surface Go with USB-C 2, a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with USB-C 3, and a Galaxy S10 with the USB-A port. So we were charging four devices simultaneously and pushing this UGREEN wall charger to do as much as possible, and we’re impressed by the results.

The Lenovo laptop was able to charge at 30W, a great charging speed considering four other devices were charging, and the Galaxy Note 9 was fast charging; despite charging stats saying that USB-C 3 drops down 10W, the Note 9 was still fast charging.

We feel that this is truly an all-in-one charger because we could have replaced the Surface Go tablet with another USB-C laptop, and two laptops would be charging then.

Design

Size and Weight:

GaN Power Delivery chargers have changed forever, as very powerful chargers can now be extremely small. We have 30W chargers the same size as Apple’s 5W charger. In this case, this UGREEN 100W wall charger is very small compared to a charger with a laptop that is a charging brick and older DC charging bricks that would be downright cumbersome.

Instead, with this 100W wall charger, you get a length/width of 3 inches and a thickness of 1 inch. The charger does have a bit of weight to it, though, as it weighs 10 Ounces. You can easily place this charger into a backpack or purse or even into a pocket, but we think that’d be a bit uncomfortable.

Functional Components:

It’s just like using any other wall charger, with this one using a foldable plug. The ports are at the front of the charger, but there is no LED power light. It is odd not to have a power light, but we think that UGREEN may be trying to mitigate heat as much as possible, and light may add some heat if it were present.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of that charger is superb, and basically what UGREEN has delivered with their other products. The charger is made of plastic, but they used a different sheen with the two side panels that make it stand out. Not only that, but the charger is structurally strong, and it seriously feels like a quality product from the moment you take it out of the box.

Tech:

In our test of charging four devices simultaneously, this wall charger did get warm and not hot, but it did get noticeably warm to the touch. That said, this is completely normal, especially when you’re dealing with higher wattages.

Reliability

If you own multiple USB-C devices, this UGREEN USB-C charger is a must because it has the ports, the charging power, and the ease of portability you need. UGREEN also sells a few bundles with cables for this charger on Amazon.

The only unreliable part is the price of this charger, as it is higher priced than other, less powerful Power Delivery wall chargers. At the same time, this is all those chargers combined.

Summary:

Power:

Charging power is not lacking, as you can get 100W of Power Delivery from the first two USB-C ports. Charging four devices simultaneously still allowed us to charge a laptop, a tablet, and two smartphones.

Design:

The charging is very small for the power output that you’re getting.

Build:

We’re incredibly impressed by the build quality of this charger, and it seems like UGREEN is stepping its game up to go toe to toe with Anker. The charger does get warm when under heavy load, but it’s nothing serious.

Reliability:

The charger is reliable for charging most, if not all, USB-C devices because it has a 100W power output that puts a blanket over most USB-C devices.
