At this point, the market has a variety of Bluetooth earbuds. If you’re currently searching for a pair of earbuds, you’ve likely already taken a look at high-tier brands such as Apple and Samsung, but those are some of the most expensive. With so much competition, it can be easy for mid-range earbuds to not even be considered, and that’s a shame because mid-range earbuds deliver sound quality that most consumers are looking for and come at a very low price.

In this review, we’re looking at these UGREEN HiTune T3 Bluetooth earbuds that can fit into nearly all consumer budgets and deliver the sound quality that most are looking for.

Sound Quality

One of the essential features of earbuds is Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), and we’re happy to say that these UGREEN T3 earbuds do have ANC. Along with the 10mm dynamic drivers and an enclosed ear tip design that gives you further noise cancellation, the sound quality is on par with expectations that we had and most consumers have, too. AI noise reduction also works to cancel environmental noise during calls.

The ANC on these Hitune T3 earbuds can block up to 25db of sound, including background noise such as cars, trains, people talking, and most other environmental sounds you could hear without the earbuds on, as we mentioned before, since these earbuds have an enclosed design and not an open-air one you have sound going directly into your eardrums, and that means minor disturbance to what you’re listening to.

So how good is the ANC with this Hitune T3? Well, they are pretty good, and they surpassed our expectations. While listening to music, we could not hear most cars passing by on the road, trees rustling in the wind or birds chirping were non-existent, and people talking nearby were either muffled or we couldn’t hear them. Higher-tier brand earbuds have ANC that may be better than what these UGREEN earbuds have, but for the performance of ANC at this low price, we think the ANC did an incredible job.

Regarding the sound quality when listening to music, the Hitune T3 earbuds continue with exceeding expectations. The 10mm drivers envelop you into whatever you’re listening to as they add punchiness that gives weight to the sound. We did hear a few songs that made heavy usage of bass, and we started with Elden Ring’s main menu theme that has thundering drums; we truly felt the grand scale of the soundtrack a lot better than when you hear it on a TV and feel more aligned with what composer was gong for. It’s not only the beating drums that are bought forward; you can hear the trumpets and violins that lend to the tarnished struggle of the game. For such a short but impactful theme, these HiTune T3 earbuds hit the nail by delivering what you’re supposed to hear and feel.

Stranger Things season 4 has been incredible and may have the best scene of the show with Max running away from Vecna with Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush playing. Of course, for such a heavy lyrical and instrumental song, we had to test it out with these UGREEN earbuds. These earbuds do not muddle lyrics, and we can hear what Kate Bush is saying in contrast to listening to this song on a speaker, where the lyrics can be more difficult to hear. The background drums that give this song that catchy beat are prevalent through these earbuds, and both the drums and the lyrics don’t overpower each other. So mids are not overpowered, which is a great thing because they can be taken for high notes with specific earbuds, and you end up with an uneven listening experience. That’s not the case here, and everything plays in uniform.

Turning the volume up on these earbuds, in general, does cause the audio to become more tinny and uneven; you get that a bit here but not nearly as much as we thought we would. Maxing out volume would have a different effect for different songs. However, we don’t recommend maxing out volume because that’s not good for your hearing.

Regarding call quality, the AI noise reduction is basically Electronic Noise Cancelation (ENC), which works to block out surrounding sounds and put your voice first over a call. That said, this doesn’t do anything to the sound quality of the person you’re talking to because they could have a lousy mic, but the ENC only works to make your voice sound clear.

Another surprising feature is that these HiTune T3 earbuds use Bluetooth 5.2, one of the newer versions of Bluetooth that gives you a more stable connection between the earbuds and the device you’re connected to, less latency, and longer connection distance.

Connectivity Controls

Connecting these HiTune T3 earbuds to your phone is as easy as any other earbuds. Once you take the earbuds out of the case, they turn on and are ready to pair. Make sure that you have Bluetooth on with your phone and that it’s scanning for Bluetooth devices; in the “Available Devices” section in the Bluetooth setting, you’ll find UGREEN HiTune T3, tap on that, and the earbuds will pair with your phone, and you’re ready to use them.

These earbuds also have some tap controls that can be used directly on them; here they are:

Play / Pause – Single Tap on L/R earbud

Next Track – Double-tap on R earbud

Previous Track – Double Tap on L earbud

Answer / End a Call – Double Tap on L/R earbud

Decline a Call – Press and hold L/R earbud for 2 seconds

Activate Voice Assistant – Press and hold L earbud for 2 seconds

The touch controls do take some getting used to and can still be troublesome even after some time using the earbuds. It’s like the earbuds don’t pick up taps unless they are meticulously done, and you end up doing the wrong command, and we think it’s these earbuds’ weakest point. There aren’t any tap controls for changing volume, so you’ll have to depend solely on the device you’re listening from to adjust for volume.

Design and Fit

These earbuds are incredibly comfortable with their enclosed ear tip design; best of all, they stay in place, so there are no worries about falling out. Of course, since each ear is different, the ear tips on the earbuds may not be sufficient. Thankfully, UGREEN has included another three separate ear tips in the box that range from smaller to larger to fit your needs.

The form factor of the earbuds is the tail design that makes it easier to place the earbuds in your ear and take them out. However, we think more space could have been made to accommodate the tap controls, as it isn’t easy to register the tap controls to get what you want to be done by the earbuds.

Build and Accessories

Included in the box is a charging case for the earbuds. You get three separate size ear tips for the earbuds, and there’s a USB-C to USB-A charging cable. Yes, the charging case uses a USB-C port to recharge from, which makes it another reason to get these HiTune T3 earbuds as you don’t have to deal with an out-of-date Micro-USB port like some other mid-range brands are still doing.

The UGREEN earbuds have an IPX5 water-resistant rating, which means they can sustain a low-pressure water jet spray. So if you’re working out and sweating, these earbuds will be fine.

Conclusion

It would be best if you did not exclude mid-range earbuds from your search, and you should not exclude these UGREEN HiTune T3 earbuds as they feature the latest tech and are somehow being sold at an insanely low price. Seriously, these earbuds feature some pretty good ANC and are less than a fraction of the cost of competitors, and you’re still getting a great quality charging case, a cable, and three other earbud tips. You should consider these for purchase.
