Power Delivery charging is dynamic, and that is the best part of the charging tech as it can range into higher outputs that can charge larger and more powerful devices, or you can settle for a lower rate PD charger to charge your phone. This way, you don’t have to spend more money than you need to.

In this review, we’re taking a look at one of the most straightforward Power Delivery wall chargers that you can own, which is this UGREEN 20W mini PD charger. The charger has minimal capabilities, but that may be just what most consumers need.

Power

Output Charging:

Charging from this UGREEN Power Delivery wall charger is as simple as it gets because it only has a single USB-C port with a 20W Power Delivery charging speed. With a 20W charging speed, you’re able to fast charge most smartphones, including Samsung phones, iPhone, LG, OnePlus, and any other phones that can charge via USB-C. That said, since this mini wall charger only features Power Delivery fast charging, certain phones won’t charge at their “Max” speed.

We tested this UGREEN mini charger with a Samsung Galaxy S20 and were able to fast charge it. However, the Galaxy S20 is Programmable Power Supply (PPS) fast charging compatible that can super fast charge the Galaxy S20 at 25W. This UGREEN charger does not feature PPS and therefore is not able to charge it at max power.

However, for general fast charging for smartphones, this UGREEN charger is perfect. Also, just a heads up, if you want to fast charge an iPhone, you have to use a Lightning to USB-C cable as the iPhone still uses a Lightning port.

Design

Size and Weight:

The size of this charger is tiny, as all of its dimensions are about 1 inch, so it has a cube form factor. You won’t be having trouble being portable with this charger.

Functional Components:

Despite this charger not having foldable plugs, the size is so tiny that it doesn’t matter that it lacks a foldable plug. This charger also doesn’t have a power light that turns on when you have the charger plugged in, but once again, this is a low-cost and minimal charger, so we’re giving it some slack on that side.

Build

Structure and Material:

The charger has a solid build, and there are no parts to it that are weak. You can place it into a backpack or purse and not have to worry about it getting damaged.

Tech:

The charger may get a little warm when you’re fast charging from it, and that’s completely normal—especially considering that this charger is tiny.

Reliability

The reliability of this UGREEN charger is relatively narrow because it only has a single USB-C Power Delivery port with a 20W charge rate. With this charging power, it’s most reliable to use this wall charger for fast charging smartphones and some tablets such as new generation iPads that use USB-C and other Android tablets that also charge via USB-C.

This wall charger is not reliable to use for charging laptops as 20W is not enough charging power.

Conclusion:

This UGREEN 20W mini Power Delivery wall charger is reliable enough for fast charging most smartphones and tablets. However, those are the only devices that you can charge with it as 20W of charging power is not enough for laptops, and you can only charge a single device at a time with it. That said, for a low-cost and tiny charger, it can be worth getting if it fits your needs.
