Power banks with high power capacities are ones that have changed quite a lot over time, and that’s because they’re capable of way more than they were years ago. In the past, power banks with 20,000mAh power capacities usually just had two standard charging ports and the charging speed from the ports would actually be quite slow.

Another thing about power banks of the past is that they would be very large, and we realize that higher the power capacity of a power banks does make it larger, but now there are power banks that have even more power capacity to use and still maintain a relatively small form factor, while at the same time supplying a great amount of charging from its ports.

In this review, we’re going to be looking over Zendure’s 26,800mAh power bank with 4-ports that uses Quick Charge. So there’s definitely quite a bit to know about this power bank, so let’s take a closer look.

Power

Power Capacity:

The power capacity of this Zendure power bank is on the very high side, and we know that might sound silly, but there are high capacity power banks that have a 20,000mAh. Then there’s this Zendure power bank that has an initial power capacity of 26,800mAh, so there’s a ton of power to use even without us calculating the output capacity that you’re actually able to use.

3.7 x 26,800 = 99,160 / 5 = 19,832

Overall, you’re actually able to use about 20,000mAh of the capacity that this charger has, and before you make any judgments, this is actually pretty good and practically average for most power banks. Another thing is that since this power bank makes use of a Quick Charge, the conversion of power can actually be a little worse since Quick Charge is capable of fast charging so you may lose about 1,000mAh more.

With all that said, an output power capacity of 20,000mAh is still enough to charge most smartphones with a large battery multiple times. Such as the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, and iPhone X, that all have either a 3,000mAh battery or close to it are able to charge to their full power about five times.

Charging tablets with a battery capacity of about 5,000mAh will result in about 4.5 full charges. However, just so you know, these full charge estimates are for when you’re not using your device and letting it charge. That’s because when you use a device and charge it at the same time, a whole lot more power is being used real-time and therefore the amount of full charges that you’re able to get from a power bank basically decreases. Not something major, just something that we thought we would point out.

So this Zendure power bank can basically last you nearly a week if all you’re using it for is charging a smartphone.

Output Charging:

The charging from this power bank is quite amazing, and that’ because it uses four USB charging ports, and it’s basically one more port up than what most high capacity power banks tend to have.

Three USB-A Ports:

Each of the standard USB ports on this power bank has a 5V/3.1A charging speed, at the same time, the standard ports share a 3.1A max output. So if you’re charging multiple devices at once with the standard ports then that will result in a slower charging speed for each of those devices.

Quick Charge Port:

The Quick Charge port is exactly what it sounds like, which is a port that features Quick Charge 3.0 and can, therefore, fast charge any and all Quick Charge compatible smartphones. Some of these phones include the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, LG G6, LG V30, and the Razer Phone, to just name a few.

You can also charge Non-Quick Charge compatible smartphones and other USB chargeable devices with the Quick Charge port, but those devices will simply charge at a 5V/2.0A charging speed.

Max Output:

The max output of this Zendure power bank is 33.5W. 18W is dedicated to the Quick Charge port, while 15.5W is shared between the three Standard ports. It’s not a bad powering design at all and we find that it’s perfect with having to charge many devices at once. They even went past the 2.4A charging rate and managed to give a 3.1A shared output which is able to do a lot more when you’re charging multiple devices at once, as the devices you’re charging are able to receive a faster charging speed.

Input Charging:

Recharging from this power bank is done through a single Micro-USB input port, and we were worried at first, but fortunately, the input port makes use of Quick Charge. So when you use a Quick Charge wall charger to recharge the power bank it only takes about 8 hours, and that’s actually very fast for a 26,800mAh power bank.

Design

Size and Weight:

The size of this Zendure 26,800mAh power bank is small but at the same time, it’s also quite bulky and heavy. It has a length of 4.7 inches, a width of 2.9 inches, and a thickness of 1.6 inches. The weight of the charger is 1 pound. So it is a power bank that you can hold but you’re not going to hold it for a long duration of time, and it’s definitely not able to fit into a pocket. It’s best to place this into a backpack, and when it comes time to use it, you’re likely going to set it down and charge your devices.

This isn’t an on-the-go charging power bank.

Functional Components:

All of the charging ports on this power bank are on a single side, and that includes the USB output and Micro-USB input ports. All the standard ports are Blue and the Quick Charge port is Green. Something that is quite different with this power bank is that it uses a 3-digit digital power capacity display, instead of the usual four level dotted power capacity display that most power banks tend to use. So you’re able to get a far more accurate power capacity reading.

To actually start charging you do have to press the power button at the top of the power bank.

Build

Structure and Material:

 

The build quality of Zendure power banks is notably one of the best parts about them, as you can basically drive over them with a car and they’ll survive and be functional. That’s because of the Aluminum shell that this power bank is encompassed within. So it’s shockproof up to a good point. It’s not waterproof, but that’s to be expected as this isn’t exactly a rugged power bank, and we’re not expecting waterproofing or water-resistance.

Tech:

On the tech side, you would think that the charger would overheat if you’re charging multiple devices at once and definitely if you’re charging four devices at once. That’s not the case here even though the power bank can output 33.5W at the same time. So things stay cool while you’re charging your devices.

However, for some reason when you’re recharging the power bank at Quick Charge speeds, it does become a little warm near the Micro-USB input port, but that’s actually quite normal for many power banks on the market.

Reliability

On the reliability scale, this power bank does a great job at catering to not only Quick Charge Android smartphone users but to basically anyone that wants to charge four devices at once and also want a lot of power capacity to do it with. We will say that those that own Quick Charge smartphones are going to have a better experience with this power bank as it uses a single Quick Charge port and Micro-USB input that uses Quick Charge to recharge faster.

Summary:

Power:

There’s still a lot of power capacity to use even after its conversion of power. Four charging ports is a lot and one of the ports uses Quick Charge. Quick Charge is also used to recharge the power bank at a faster speed, which is definitely useful for such a high capacity power bank.

Design:

It’s a small power bank but at the same time, the charger is very thick and heavy, so that quickly fades away the illusion that you’re able to hold this power bank and charge your smartphone at the same time. It uses an LCD power capacity display that can be helpful for telling the power capacity a lot easier than a couple of dots.

Build:

The build of Zendure power banks is one of their best parts and that’s no different with this Zendure 26,800mAh power bank.

Reliability:

All of the charging power from this power bank is going to be helpful to anyone that’s searching for a high capacity portable charger, but those that Quick Charge compatible smartphones will have a better edge with this power bank.
