Wall and desktop chargers are two of the most useful charging electronics that you can be using. Chances are that you already use either one of those, but in some cases, people just stop at a single charging port and call it a day with their charging experience. Wall chargers are impressive, but the upgraded version of them that hold more power are desktop chargers as they have more USB ports. With the rise of fast charging techs such as Quick Charge and USB-C Power Delivery, desktop chargers have heavily made use of both of them.

In this case, this ZeroLemon 75W Desktop charger features USB-C Power Delivery and Quick Charge. There are also two other ports that can be used with this charger. It’s chargers like these that are a great reason to purchase something more than just a single or two port wall charger, as you get more ports and also more powerful ports too.

So let’s take a closer look at what this charger has to offer with its charging power, and if what it boasts is really impressive at all.

Power

Output Charging:

USB-C Power Delivery Port

Even with its other three ports, the main reason that you’re likely purchasing this ZeroLemon Desktop charger is that of its Power Delivery charging abilities. Most of the time when it comes to base Power Delivery chargings speed, it starts at 30W, and a 30W charging rate for Power Delivery compatible smartphones, tablets or laptops is still very impressive, and basically double the charge rate of regular USB-C charging.

In this case, this ZeroLemon charger goes even further than that and that’s because the USB-C Power Delivery port has a charging rate of 65W. Yes, that’s basically double than what base Power Delivery starts at and this is absolutely fantastic. So you’re able to charge all Power Delivery compatible smartphones at their max charging speeds such as the Essential Phone, Google Pixel 2, and even the iPhone X and iPhone 8 are compatible with Power Delivery when you use a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.

Here’s the Power Delivery charging rate within Voltage and Amperage terms:

5V/3.0A | 9V/3.0A | 15V/3.0A | 20V/3.0A

Quick Charge Port

The one other very powerful charging port on this charger desktop charger is the Quick Charge 3.0 port. It can charge Quick Charge 3.0 or 2.0 compatible smartphones at their max charging speed with its charging rate of:

3.6-6V/3A | 6V-9V/2A | 9V-12V/1.5A

You can also use the Quick Charge port to charge Non-Compatible Quick Charge devices, it’ll just result in the charger defaulting to a 2.4 Amp charging rate for standard devices.

Standard USB-A Ports

Speaking of standard charging, the last two ports that we wanted to mention are the two standard USB-A ports. Each of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A and the max output of the standard port part of this charger is 2.4A. A 2.4A charging speed is pretty good for nearly any device, and it can charge an Apple iPad at its max charging speed.

So it’s great to have these two ports if you want to charge some other device while you’re using the Power Delivery port.

Max Output and Using the Power of this Desktop Charger Properly

So the max output of this desktop charger is 75W, and that’s very high if you’re wondering. Since the max output of power of the USB-C Power Delivery port is 65W, you should only use one other port while you’re using Power Delivery.

ZeroLemon actually recommends not using too many other ports if you’re using the full 65W of Power Delivery as that’s going to change power output for the Power Delivery port and not result in the 65W that you could be getting. Of course, if you’re charging a device that isn’t going to make use of the full 65W of charging power, then you can very well use the Quick Charge port and standard ports at the same time you’re using the PD port.

So just check out the max charging power requirements for the device that you’re charging to make sure that you can indeed charge other devices while using Power Delivery so that it doesn’t interfere with the charging rate.

Design

Size and Weight:

This is actually quite a sizeable desktop charger and we don’t blame it and that’s because of all the charging power it’s packing. It has a length of 5.1 inches, a width of 2.8 inches, and a thickness of 1 inch. The weight of the charger is 7.8 Ounces.

So it’s basically half a foot long which is larger than some other desktop chargers, but even so, it’s not a problem at all and you’re going to be able to easily just place this on your computer desk and charge your devices. Not really an obstruction causer at all.

Functional Components:

This ZeroLemon desktop charger has a 4.7-foot power cord and you have to attach it to the desktop charger first and then you’re ready to connect your charging cables to the port and charge your devices.

All of the charging ports are on a single side, with two of the Blue colored Standard ports being at the top, then there’s the Orange Quick Charge and lastly, all the way at the bottom is where the USB-C Power Delivery port is.

Once you connect the power cord and power on the desktop charger, there’s a Blue LED power light that turns on under the USB-C port.

Build

Structure and Material:

This is a very well built desktop charger and we’re glad that’s the case and ZeroLemon didn’t just focus on making the charging power the only strongest thing. The entire center part of the charger is just a single piece, and then the two sides of the desktop charger are separate pieces.

The charging ports feel great to use and each of them holds a charging cable when you connect it.

Tech:

With such a high power output and such powerful charging technologies being used, if you’re using the max output for this charger or close to it, then this charger will actually warm up. It won’t be hot but you will be able to feel the warmth from the charger if you place your hand on it. This is definitely the case if you’re using the Power Delivery charging as it’s the main part of the charger that’s able to output the most.

Reliability

If you’re getting this Desktop charger then you probably already know what you need it for, and that would be charging your USB-C Power Delivery compatible device, and also being able to charge other devices with it too. Most notably a Quick Charge smartphone.

If you don’t have a need for the Power Delivery then you likely shouldn’t get this charger, and if you won’t need the Quick Charge port either then you really don’t need this charger. That said, making use of the Power Delivery port, and possibly using the USB-A ports with this desktop charger are good reasons for the reliability that this desktop charger could offer.

Summary:

Power:

Charging power is the best part of this ZeroLemon Power Delivery desktop charger with its use of powerful 65W Power Deliver speeds, Quick Charge, and two Standard ports.

It’s a long desktop charger but even with its larger size, it’s still able to fit easily on a computer desk.
