When a power bank has a lot of power capacity it also means that it’s capable of offering more than just plenty of power that can last for days.

It means that it can provide more charging options, faster charging speeds, and ways to charge devices that aren’t the norm with other power banks with lower power capacities. These kinds of power banks are for those times when you want your portable charger to last as long as possible and want the most out of portable tech.

This is the ZeroLemon ToughJuice that has a whopping 30,000mAh power capacity. Let’s see if it has much more to offer than just a high power capacity.

Power Capacity:

So the power capacity is massive with this portable charger being able to have an initial power capacity of 30,000mAh. With that said, the Output power capacity is going to fluctuate a lot depending on how you’re using the power bank.

This is because the power bank has 5 Output charging ports and the more Outputs you use at once, the less Output capacity you will have since there’s more conversion power happening that will result in more power being lost.

Conversion of Power:

With that said, we’re going to assume that the most amount of devices you’ll have charging most of the time is 2-3 devices.

As a result, you can expect an Output capacity of about 24,000mAh. Yes, we know that’s a drastic change from the original power capacity of the power bank but this is the kind of equivalent exchange that happens when you’re charging many devices at once.

Also, there’s the lack of use of Panasonic battery cells and any other tech that can improve conversion rate.

So the Average Output power capacity of 24,000mAh is still plenty of power to charge smartphones about 7 times or more. As for tablets, if you’re solely charging tablets then you can expect to get 3 full charges for most tablets that have a rather lower battery capacity like an iPad Mini.

The power bank can even charge laptops like Macbooks that can recharge using the Type-C cable, and you can get 1 full charge for a MacBook.

The power capacity of this charger is going to be able to last you for days or even weeks. It’s one of the best portable chargers to keep in case you don’t’ have a stable source of power like a wall charger.

Output Charging:

3 x USB Ports: 5V/1.0A

Quick Charge 2.0 Output: 5V/2.4A | 9V/1.67A | 12V/1.35A

Type-C Output: 5V/2.5A

Along with the high power capacity, you’ll have plenty of ways to charge your devices.

3 USB Ports with 5V/1.0A Charging

3 USB ports are each able to Output 1 Amp of charging speeds. It’s a slow charging speed, which we thought wasn’t good because ZeroLemon went ahead with quantity rather than a quality approach.

We would have much rather preferred that there would be 2 USB Ports that have a charging speed of 5V/2.0A rather than just a single amp for 3 ports. This is because if you’re connecting a device to any of the three 1 Amp ports then it’s most likely not going to charge at its fastest charging speed.

However, we do think that it’s convenient to have 3 charging ports to charge 3 devices at once, but it’s not the most quality assured way to go about charging.

Quick Charge 2.0 Port

The Quick Charge 2.0 port is a very welcoming feature for those that have Quick Charge 2.0 devices and even for those that don’t have Quick Charge 2.0 devices. If you do have Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 compatible devices then you’ll be able to charge your device very quickly at a variation of 2.4A, 1.67A, and 1.35A.

The best part is that voltage is increased even if the Amperage during charging drops, which is why Quick Charge is so fast at charging by providing 5, 9, and 12 Volts of power.

Of course, the Quick Charge port can deliver a Max Standard charging speed of 5V/2.4A, and it’s best to connect your smartphone that isn’t compatible with Quick Charge to this port and for tablets as well.

Type-C Output

The last Output port is the Type-C Output that can be used with devices that are compatible to charge with Type-C. The only way to use the Type-C port as an Output port is to use a Type-C to Type-C cable and with that, the port can deliver a Max Output of 5V/2.5A.

This is what we meant that the power bank can charge MacBooks with its Type-C Output port. The Type-C port IS NOT an Input port.

Input Charging: 5V/2.0A

This high capacity power bank only has an input charging speed of  2 Amps and as long as you’re using a 2 Amp wall charger or higher then it will be recharged within 12-13 hours. If you’re using anything lower than a 2 Amp wall charger, then you’re going to be waiting a full 24 hours for the power bank to fully recharge.

We’d like to see higher capacity portable chargers take advantage of faster input options like the Anker PowerCore 26800 and EasyAcc Monster can use 2 Micro-USB Input ports to recharge at halftime.

Size and Weight

Of course with its powering capabilities, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this is one large power bank.

The length is 7.1 inches, the width is 3.6 inches and it has a thickness of 1.3 inches. It’s also a heavy power bank at a weight of 1.5 pounds.

There’s no way that you’re going to miraculously fit this into your pocket, and holding it in your hand while you’re using it won’t fare too well either because its large size and heavy weight will eventually become cumbersome to hold. So it’s best to place this power bank into a bag and opt to set it down and use it for the best charging experience.

Functional Components

You would think that a power bank with 5 charging ports would be quite difficult to use but it’s not.

The 4 USB charging ports are nearly in the same location on the short side of the power bank. The Type-C port is close to the USB ports with it being on the long side of the charger.

The Micro-USB port is on the opposite long side of the power bank. Lastly, the power button and-and 4 LED Power capacity indicators are on top. The 4 LED power capacity indicators are within the power button.

Overall, the power button is barely even used because charging begins when you connect a device, and charging stops when there aren’t any devices connected. Although, if charging doesn’t begin on its own, then you can always press the power button to begin charging and you can use it to check the power capacity of the power bank.

Structure and Material

This high capacity power bank is more than just being capable of providing plenty of power, it’s also really tough. The portable charger has an outer casing that envelopes itself over the main power bank’s body and as a result, it is much more resilient against shock damage from falls.

Charging ports have covering flaps over them and once they’re covered, it’s at least water-resistant. However, this isn’t to say that the power bank can take water easily. You SHOULD NOT submerge it into the water but it is more capable of protecting itself from the elements than your usual power bank.

If you want a water-resistant power bank then check out these power banks:

There’s nothing really special about the tech, other than the usual safety tech that most power banks can provide, Temperature control, Short-Circuit, and Surge Protection during charging. It makes charging 5 devices at the same time entirely safe.

With its high power capacity, plenty of charging options, and tough casing, the ZeroLemon Juice pack is very reliable.

We realize that 3 of the 5 charging options are slow at charging but the power capacity and longevity that you’re able to get with this power bank is something that isn’t offered by many other chargers out there. It’s not the most portable charger either but that’s to be expected and you’re bound to find the same level of portability with equal power capacities.

Reliability is going to be off the charts for those times when this power bank is your only source of power.

Jackery Max Power Bank

The power capacity is high even with the lowered average Output capacity of 24,000mAh. It’s still enough to charge nearly any device, no matter what their battery capacity is, multiple times.

The charging speeds could use some work and add more quality with 3 of the USB charging Output ports only offering 5V/1.0A.

It’s a large power bank, but that’s to be expected with it having an initial power capacity of 30,000mAh and having 5 Output charging options. It’s really easy to use with the power button barely even being used.

The build of the power bank’s structure is really strong with an outer casing that can withstand shock damage. The charging ports have cover flaps over them that make the power bank water-resistant.

It’s a reliable charger right from the get-go because of its insanely high power capacity and the ability to charge 5 devices at once. With that said, it can be quite difficult to be portable with its large size and heavyweight.
