If you’re traveling internationally, one worry you may have is how you’ll charge your devices, such as your phone or laptop. You may also take an appliance you want to power in another country. However, the outlets in the country you’re visiting are incompatible with your appliance. You need a travel adapter that lets you use your appliance and charge devices no matter where you are.

I’m looking at this Zendure Universal travel adapter PassPort III in this review. This nifty adapter has nearly every plug you would need to charge and power appliances in different countries, and it has a great design. Let’s take a closer look.

Power Output

So the first thing I want to cover is the charging ports; the charging ports on this Zendure travel adapter are plentiful, with four USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. USB-C 1, the most powerful port on the side, has a 65W Power Delivery charging speed when charging a single device.

The three other USB-C ports, also known as USB-C 2, 3, and 4, and the USB-A port share a 15W output. The bottom four charging ports are practically the same, and even though it’s great to have many charging ports, the most helpful one is USB-C 1.

When charging from USB-C 1 and any other ports simultaneously, the USB-C 1 output drops from 65W to 45W.

For my testing, I charged my Lenovo laptop from USB-C 1 and my Galaxy Note 9 from USB-C 2 (one of the ports at the bottom). My Lenovo laptop could charge at 30W, basically, its max charging speed, while my Note 9 standard charged from the USB-C 2 port, which was to be expected.

For my other charging test, I charged an Excitrus power bank from USB-C 1 and kept charging my Note 9 from USB-C 2; in this case, I wanted to test if the USB-C 1 port could output 45W when charging two devices at the same time.

With two devices charging, the Excitrus power bank could recharge at 45W; I then unplugged my Note 9, and the recharging speed for the Excitrus power bank jumped to 65W; this goes to show that charging works how it’s supposed to on this Zendure travel adapter.

When it comes to powering appliances, I kept the Excitrus power bank recharging at 65W, and at the same time, I had a Lasko heater being powered from the AC outlet on the travel adapter. I set the heater to its high setting with a 1400W max output and continuously ran it for about 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, the heater was still running, and the power bank was still recharging from the USB-C port. So even this high power output for a travel adapter is no problem. The specifications for the travel adapter note it can output 1000W at 100V or 2500W at 250V.

Design

The Zendure travel adapter is small, with a length of only 3 inches and a width of 2 inches; the adapter weighs about 6 ounces.

Using the travel adapter is easy; with the outlet at the front and off to the side, you’ll find sliders to take out each plug. The plugs on the travel adapter include the US, UK, EU, and AU plugs. Something pretty cool about the AU plug is that all you have to do is adjust the angle of the US plug to make it an AU plug.

Off to the other side is where you’ll find the USB-C 1 port alone, and four 15W standard ports can be found at the bottom of the travel adapter. Overall, every part of this travel adapter is being put to use.

The travel adapter looks stunning because it has a transparent casing that lets you see the inner circuitry.

Build Quality

The build quality of this travel adapter is superb, and everything functions fine. The mechanism to slide out the plugs worked smoothly, and I had no problems using it. When I did the heater test with the travel adapter, the adapter did get warm but not hot. However, the adapter plugs did get hot, but that is to be expected.

Reliability

Whether to travel often or occasionally, having a travel adapter with you is a must so you can charge your devices and power an appliance that otherwise won’t be able to in a certain country. This Zendure adapter can do just that.
