Bluetti has been a part of the power station market for a long time, and it’s one of the main reasons why they’re a top brand I recommend if you’re searching for a power station to buy. Their products have always had great design and quality, and they make a variety of power stations that can fit specific needs.

In this review, I’m looking at this EB70S power station with an 800W output and a 716Wh capacity. This power station is an upgraded version of the previous EB70 model, defining a mid-range power station.

Battery Capacity

This Bluetti EB70S power station has a 716Wh capacity, but what matters most is how much you can use. That is why I ran an AC and DC capacity test to check the efficiency of the capacity.

I first ran the DC capacity test via the cigarette lighter port on the power station; I used a load tester pulling about 120W and ran the test from 100% to 0%. I ended up with a 624Wh DC capacity and an 87% DC capacity efficiency—very good results on the DC side.

Then for the AC capacity test, I used a watt meter and powered a crockpot on its high setting, pulling about 215W. When the power station was at 0%, I finished the AC capacity test with a 640Wh capacity, which gave me an 89% AC capacity efficiency.

So you can use most of the capacity of this power station, and it’s interesting to see that the AC capacity efficiency is higher than the DC, as it’s usually the other way around.

When it comes to how long you can use the power station, that depends entirely on what you’re powering from it. When the DC capacity test ran, the load tester lasted about 5 hours with a 120W power load. The higher the power load, the less time you will have to use the power station, so if you want a couple of hours of runtime, it’s best to stick to 150W or lower.

Also, one of the major upgrades of the EB70S is that it uses LiFePO4 batteries that are rated for 2,500 charge cycles and still maintain 80% or more efficiency. This is much better than regular Lithium-Ion batteries.

Output Power

The power output of this Bluetti EB70S power station is decent, it’s nothing too amazing, but it will get the job done as long as you know what you want to power with it.

Charging Ports

The EB70S does have two DC 5521 ports and a single cigarette lighter port that can output 12V/10A (120W) of power.

The charging ports on the EB70S are impressive because there are two 100W Power Delivery USB-C ports; the other two are 15W USB-A ports. Two 100W Power Delivery ports are impressive because they are ports that you would expect to see on higher-capacity power stations, and also, there are two. You can easily fast charge two laptops simultaneously from the power station.

For my testing, I was able to charge my Excitrus power bank at 100W and charge my Baseus power bank at 65W from both of the USB-C ports a the same time. So I can confirm that there is no power limit on the charging ports when using them simultaneously, and that is awesome to see.

A 15W wireless charging pad at the top could fast wirelessly charge my Note 9.

AC Outlets

There are four AC outlets on the EB70S power station, with two of them being two-prong outlets and the other two being three-prong outlets. The AC outlets’ max output is 800W; you can’t go over it. Any appliances you try to power over 800W will automatically turn off the power station.

So as long as you stick within the 800W range, you will be good, and when it comes to the 800W max output, you can power a decent amount of appliances from certain heaters to electric cooktops, but they must be under 800W. For AC outlet testing, I could easily power a crockpot that was pulling 215W.

Input Charging

You have three options to recharge the EB70S power station: the AC charging brick, the car charging cable, or a solar panel. The AC charging brick is the fastest way to recharge the power station with a 200W recharge rate, and it can get the empowered station back to 100% in about 4-5 hours. The car charging cable can recharge the power station at 100W, and the max solar recharge rate is 200W.

An MC4 to DC 7909 cable is included in the box, and you can use a 200W solar panel to max out the solar recharging. For my solar charge test, I used a 70mai 110W solar panel, and with great sun exposure, the power station could recharge at about 100W.

Design and Size

The Bleutti EB70S power station has a length of 12.6 inches, a width of 8.5 inches, and a height of 8.7 inches. The power station weighs 21 pounds. So it’s not exactly a mini power station, but it’s relatively small, and the weight will be the most noticeable.

Nearly everything you must use is at the front of the power station with all the ports, buttons, and screen. The screen for the EB70S is definitely on the minimal side as the battery percentage is showing 25% increments; the screen also shows the wattage output and input; however, there is no estimated runtime on the screen.

At the top of the power station is a wireless charging pad and a foldable handle.

Conclusion

The Bluetti EB70S power station is a solid portable power source, it won’t power everything in your home, but its 800W max output is a lot of power that can still power many things. The use of LiFePO4 batteries is a great upgrade that makes it more worth getting than comparable Lithium-Ion battery power stations, and it’s surprising to see that it has two 100W PD USB-C ports. That said, the screen could use a bit of an upgrade, and this Bluetti power station is not app compatible like some other Bluetti power stations are.
