Wireless charging can be a convenient way to charge your phone because you don’t have to worry about plugging in a cable; it’s just a set-and-forget way to charge. If you depend on a navigation app such as Google Maps when driving, charging your phone, and have it in a holder that lets you easily view it as imperative.
In this review, I’m looking at this Alxum 15w wireless car charger that you can either place on your dashboard or a vent in your car. I’ve spent a lot of time with this charger and have to say that it provides a seamless and reliable experience for easy navigating and charging during your drive. Remember, don’t touch your phone while driving; keep your eyes on the road.
Wireless Charging Power
The charging power from this Alxum wireless charger is optimal, at least when it comes to wireless charging. This is just a reminder that wireless charging is slower than wired charging, but this one has a 15W max wireless charging speed that can fast charge LG, Google Pixel, and more modern Samsung phones. Slightly older Samsung phones will be able to charge at 10W, and iPhones will be able to charge at 7.5W.
iPhones are compatible with 15W fast wireless charging with a MagSafe charger, but this is not a MagSafe charger and uses standard Qi wireless charging.
I could fast wirelessly charge a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and an LG G7 at 10W from this Alxum wireless charger for my testing. Overall, charging power is excellent for wireless charging. It will keep your phone charged even when using a heavy power usage app like Google Maps for navigation when driving.
With all that said, the one thing to remember is that you will need a car charger that you would power from the 12V outlet in your car to power this wireless charger because this Alxum wireless charger uses a USB-C input port to be powered from. You should use a 20W USB-C Power Delivery port or a USB-A Quick Charge port to get the most wireless charging output.

Design
What you get in the box is the wireless charger, a dashboard mount, a vent mount, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and the manual for the charger.
The wireless charger itself is the part that holds your phone in place, and it has a very neat design, and that’s because the right, left, and bottom holding grips are motorized. When you power the wireless charger, the holding grips automatically open up and wait for you to place your phone on the charger; once the charger senses your phone, the holding grips automatically tighten around it and hold it in place.
When you want to remove your phone from the holder, there are two buttons, one to the right and one to the left. You can press either of those buttons, the holders will disengage, and you can take your phone out. Also, when you turn off your car, the holders on the charger automatically disengage.
The USB-C port on the charger is at the bottom, and at the back is where the hole for the dashboard or AC vent attachment is. In my experience, using an AC vent attachment is almost always more reliable. The suction cup mount for the dashboard can be nice to use, mainly because it has a telescoping and angle-changing feature, but far too many times, I’ve had suction fail, and the mount goes flying around while I’m driving. Also, it depends on the material and texture of your dash.
The AC vent with this wireless charger is excellent and very simple. The vent mount has a single hook that you would hook onto the horizontal lines of your AC vent, and three rubber supports hold on the vent mount in place very well.
To attach the mount to the wireless charter portion, you have to place it into the hole at the back of the charger, and you use a key to tighten the mount to the wireless charger.
The user experience of the Alxum wireless charger is seamless, and it’s pretty awesome to see the charger open up its holders automatically when you turn on your car.

Build Quality
The build quality of the wireless charger for the two types of mounts is very well made. I realize there are many types of these products on the market, and they can all blend, but from my experience with this charger, all the pieces are built well.
The only real concern would be the motorized parts of the holders on the charger breaking, but they’ve held up perfectly over the month I’ve been using this charger.
Reliability
If you rely on your phone for using a navigation app and want to keep it charged up while you drive, then his Alxum 15W wireless car charger is reliable. The most reliable part is the wireless charging, automatic engagement, and disengaging of the phone holders and the vent mount. When you turn on your car, the holder opens to accept your phone, and you only have to place your phone on the wireless charger.
The vent mount is superior to the dashboard suction mount because it will more reliably stay in place.
Conclusion
