Of all the Power Delivery wall chargers I’ve reviewed, one of the most reliable ones is the 140W charger. These have an incredibly high power output that can fast charge most USB-C chargeable devices, and the better part is that they tend to have multiple ports that let you fast charge many devices simultaneously.

In this review, I’m looking at this Baseus 140W 3 port charger; the charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. This can be a reliable charger for all your needs, and compared to other 140W chargers I’ve reviewed, this one is a bit different.

Charging Power

So, I’ve mentioned it a few times, but this Baseus charger does have a max output of 140W, and you can use the total 140W of Power Delivery when charging a single device from the USB-C 1 port. The USB-C 2 port can output 100W of Power Delivery when charging one device, and the USB-A port can output 30W.

You can get a 140W charge rate for those devices that can accept that amount of charging power. I did not have devices compatible with a 140W charge rate, and the best I could do was use a 100W charging speed.

When charging two devices at the same time, power is split up between the ports. If you’re charging from the two USB-C ports simultaneously, then USB-C 1 port outputs 100W and the C-2 port will output 30W, so a pretty drastic drop in power for the C-2 port. When charging from one of the USB-C ports and the USB-A port, the power split is 100W and 30W.

If you’re charging from all the ports simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port will output 100W, the USB-C 2 port will output 30W, and the USB-A port will output 18W. So in comparison to other 140W  wall chargers I’ve reviewed, the usual case is that when it comes to charging three devices, the C-1 port will output 65W, the C-2 port outputs 45W, and the USB-A port will output 18W.

This Basues charger takes a different direction, with USB-C 1 being the considerably more powerful port at nearly all times, and that’s fine because even if you’re charging three devices, you still have 100W of Power Delivery available. Still, the other two ports will have a much lower charge rate.

For my testing, I started by charging my Excitrus power bank from USB-C 1 and USB-C 2, and each port could recharge the power bank at 100W.

For dual USB-C charging, I had my Excitrus power bank charge from the USB-C 1 port and my Baseus power bank charge from USB-C 2. The Exciturs power bank continued to charge at 100W, while the Baseus power bank charged at 30W.

The Excitrus and Baseus power bank kept charging at the same speed for three-port charging, but I plugged my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 into the USB-A port this time. The Note 9 could fast charge from the USB-A port while the Exciturs power bank charged at 100W, and the Baseus power bank charged at 30W.

Then I did another three-port charge test that charged my Lenovo laptop from the USB-C 1 port, which charged at 40W; the Excitrus power bank was charging at 30W from USB-C 2, and the USB-A port was fast charging my Note 9.

The box includes a 240W USB-C to USB-C charging cable that ensures you can use the 140W output from the USB-C 1 port if you can use that much charging power.

Design

The Baseus charger has a length of 4 inches, a width of 3 inches, and a thickness of about 1.5 inches. The charger is small and has a foldable plug, making portability much easier. When you plug the charger into an outlet, a blue LED light turns on, and all the ports can be found on the same side.

Conclusion

The Baseus 140W 3 port wall charger is a very powerful one, and you can use this to fast charge nearly any USB-C chargeable device that you have and fast charge multiple devices simultaneously. The power allocation design is slightly different, as the USB-C 1 port truly reigns supreme on this charger. It’s a great touch that a USB-C to USB-C charging cable is included in the box.
