Most wall chargers blend in at this point because those with the same power output and charging ports will perform nearly identically. If you are searching for a unique type of charger, you may want to consider one with a special design; even though it may not add to the charging power, it can still look pretty awesome.

I’m looking at this Gravastar 65W 3 port wall charger in this review. Looking at the photo above, you can tell that this is not your typical charger because it looks like a cute robot, and that’s the main selling point. The charging power of this Gravastar is good, but it’s common with a lot of other 65W chargers. So let’s take a closer look.

Charging Power

This Gravastar charger has two USB-C ports, a single USB-A port, and a 65W max output. You can use a total of 65W of Power Delivery when charging a single device from USB-C 1, while the USB-C 2 port will output 20W when charging one device, and the USB-A port will output 18W when charging one device.

So if you want the fastest charging power possible, you’d want to charge from the USB-C 1 port without any other devices charging.

If you’re charging from the two USB-C ports simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port will output 45W of Power Delivery, while the USB-C 2 port will output 20W. Then when it comes to charging three devices simultaneously from this charger, the USB-C 1 port will output 45W, while the C-2 and the USB-A port share a 15W charge rate.

For my testing, I first began by charging my Excitrus power bank from the USB-C 1 and USB-C 2 ports to test if each port could output the power they were supposed to. When charging the power bank from the C-1 port alone, the recharge rate was 60W. When charging from the C-2 port, the recharge rate was 18W, so single-port charging worked great.

For dual charging testing, I charged my Excitrus power bank from the USB-C 1 port and my Baseus power bank from the C-2 port. The Excitrus power bank was able to charge at 44W, and my Baseus power bank was able to charge at about 19W.

I plugged my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 into the USB-A port with the two power banks charging. The Excitrus power bank continued to charge at about 45W from the USB-C 1 port, while the Baseus power bank slowed to an 11W charge rate, and my Note 9 was standard charging from the USB-A port.

Another test I did was to replace the Excitrus power bank I had that was charging from USB-C 1 with a Lenovo laptop. My laptop could charge 35W from the USB-C 1 port, the Baseus power bank charged 11W from C-2, and the Note 9 was standard charging.

Design

The Gravastar 65W charger is slightly larger than other 65W chargers, with a 4-inch length. The ears of the Gravastar robot charger go on separately, and you can move the legs so that the charger stands up on your desk when you’re not using it. The charger has eyes at the front, and when you plug the charger into an outlet, the eyes light up.

The design of this charger looks fantastic, and it’s nice to see a different type of charger that, even though it performs the same, looks very different than competitors, and that’s mainly what you’re paying for in this case.

Conclusion

The Gravastar 65W charger performs how it’s supposed to, and you can use it to charge most USB-C chargeable devices. The main reason to get this charge is because of its robotic design that is done very well, which is an action figure type of charger.
