Mostool M6 3000A Peak Car Batttery Jump Starter Review

Portable jump starters have come a long way in recent years because there are tons of brands that sell jump starters, and because of that, there has been constant innovation in this space. What matters most when purchasing a jump starter is making sure it has enough of a peak current so that you have a better chance of jump-starting your car; other parts, such as design and charging ports, are also things to note.

In this review, I’m looking at this MOSTOOL M6 3000A peak current jump starter; this one has a high peak current that can be useful for jump-starting most vehicles that use a 12V battery. Let’s take a closer look.

Jump Starting Power

The main reason to get this MOSTOOL M6 jump starter is because of its 3000A peak current jump starting power. A 3000A peak is on the high end, and as mentioned before, when the jump-starting power is higher, you have a higher chance of jump-starting the battery, even when it’s very weak.

This MOSTOOL jump starter can jump start 10L gas engines and 8L diesel engine vehicles that use a 12V battery.

Power Capacity

This MOSTOOL M6 jump starter has a 20,000mAh capacity, which is on par with other jump starters with the same peak current and is the standard. Then 20,000mAh capacity, when fully charged, can deliver up to 60 jump starts, so as long as you have the jump starter fully charged in your car, it’s almost always ready to use. Even after using it to jump-start your vehicle, recharging won’t be necessary; look at the capacity shown on the screen at the top.

Regarding charging devices, the 20,000mAh capacity will likely be able to charge most phones to their full power about three or four times.

Output Charging

The charging ports on this jump starter are nothing too special, with two USB-A ports and a single USB-C port. Each port can output 15W, so no Power Delivery is available like on other jump starters I’ve reviewed.

The charging ports will be best used for phones and tablets, not laptops. In my case, I could fast charge my Galaxy Note 9, which worked great.

Input Charging

The jump starter can be recharged via the USB-C port, and the max recharging speed is 15W. The great part is that the box includes a 15W wall charger and a USB-C cable, so you can start recharging this jump starter straight out of the box.

Design

The jump starter is a decent size for its capacity and peak current; it has a length of 9 inches, a width of 3.5 inches, and a thickness of 1.4 inches. The weight of the jump starter is 3 pounds. So it’s pretty easy to hold, but that doesn’t matter because you’ll likely store it in your car if you ever need to jump-start it. Also, you get a carrying case in the box to keep all the accessories in one place.

All the ports can be found off to the sides; at the top is where you’ll find the main power button you have to press for jump-starting, and there is the flashlight button. Also, at the top of the jump starter is where the screen is located, and the screen looks awesome simply because it’s large, bright, and easy to read. The screen shows the remaining power capacity, input and output status, and the battery’s voltage before you jump-start your car.

To jump your car, you have to press the main power button, connect the jumper cables to your battery, and once the screen on the jump starter reads ‘Ready,” you can start your car. The battery voltage after you start your car is missing from the screen; just something I noticed.

Build

When you have the covers over the ports, the MOSTOOL jump starter has an IP65 water and dust resistance rating. So that means it can withstand light splashes of water as long as the ports are fully covered. When it comes to jump-starting your car, make sure that if it doesn’t start on the first attempt, give the jump starter some time to cool off.

Conclusion

The MOSTOOL M6 jump starter is a good quality 3000A peak current jump starter that brings the whole package because it comes with a wall charger, USB-C cable, and a carrying case that you can use to store it in your car. Fast recharging would have been better.
