Power banks that use built-in charging cables are highly useful because you no longer have to worry about carrying around a charging cable with your power bank.

Instead, you will always have the charging cable that you need to charge your devices with, with you at all times. Best of all, some power banks make use of a USB port too which allows you to charge 2 devices at once.

This Dodocool power bank has a built-in cable that is replaceable and also has a USB port to use any charging cable with. Let’s take a closer look.

Power Capacity:

This is a mini power bank and it’s not just the size of the power bank that makes it mini. The power capacity of 5,000mAh is the main reason why it’s so small. Overall, the power goes through a somewhat better than the average conversion rate of 75% and that means you’re going to be receiving a capacity of 3,750mAh of power that you can use.

Dodocool Power Bank for Smartphones

It a power capacity that is mainly meant to be used with smartphones only. For smartphones, you’ll be able to get 1 or 2 full charges. You can get about 2 full charges for devices like an iPhone 6s because it has that kind of mid-range battery capacity.

However, if you have a larger device that uses a bigger battery like a Galaxy S7 or an iPhone 7 Plus, then it’s only going to be able to deliver just a single full charge.

Output Charging:

There are two ways to charge from this Dodocool power bank. One way is from the Built-in USB port and the other way is through the built-in cable. With that said, there are 2 USB ports because the “Built-In” cable is removable and you can replace it with the other cable.

The power bank comes with a Lightning and Micro-USB cable that is the perfect size to fit into the power bank, and all you have to do is just take out one cable and replace it with the other one to call it the “Built-In cable”.

Each of the two charging ways has a charging speed of 5V/1.0A. It’s a slow charging speed, but luckily the Max Output of the power bank is 2 Amps, so you can use the full power of each of the charging options.  Ultimately, you’re not getting this power bank for the charging speeds and rather for the portability and design choices.

Input Charging:

At the least, the recharge rate is better because it has a max recharge rate of 5V/2.0A. As a result, you must use a 2 Amp USB wall charger to recharge the power bank as fast as possible and when done so, the power bank can recharge to full within 2-3 hours.

Size and Weight:

It’s a Slim power bank with its size, and along with the lightweight, it’s just like having a second smartphone on you.

That’s because this Dodocool power bank has a length of 5.2 inches, a width of 2.8 inches and it’s very slim at just 0.35 inches.

The weight of it is 4.3 ounces. You’ll have no problems holding this portable charger in your hand as you charge your smartphone and once your done getting it up to a good charge, this power bank can slide into a pocket.

Functional Components:

On the functional side, it’s pretty cool that you can switch out the charging cables to which one you want to be the built-in cable. Each of the cables is 5.28 inches in length and is short enough not to be cumbersome for when you’re charging on-the-go.

On one side of the power bank is where there’s the USB port and Micro-USB Input port. On another side is where you’ll find the power button and on the opposite is where there’s the built-in cable.

Build

Structure and Material:

The power bank is made of plastic and with that said, it’s still built very well. Since it has very few pieces that make it whole and it’s nearly a uni-body power bank.

Tech:

One of the main problems that this power bank can have is overheating when you’re charging 2 devices at once. This can mostly be blamed on such a small size and the lack of the circuitry to regulate heating.

Reliability

It’s a reliable enough power bank with its cables being able to detach from the power bank, and being able to be replaced with another type of cable.

Summary:

Power:

The power capacity is high enough to charge smartphones at least once to their full power. There are two charging options and each of them has a charging speed of 1 Amp. Not a very fast charging speed at all.

Design:

It’s a very small power bank that has lightweight and slim form factors that allow you to hold it and place it into your pocket once you’re done with it.

Build:

The entire power bank is made of plastic, and even though that’s not the strongest material, it’s still built quite well with the few amounts of pieces that the power bank is made up of.

Reliability:

For the most part, this power bank is going to be perfect for someone that is simply searching for an easy to carry power source, and not necessarily for the charging power.
