High capacity power banks aren’t nearly as used as mini power banks and it’s understandable as these kinds of portable chargers are generally very large and heavy.

With that said, power banks that have high power capacities are also the most useful, because the increase in the amount of power that they have enables them to have the ability to charge a device multiple times and still have power left over to use. In addition to just a higher power capacity, they usually have lots of charging ports and special charging tech.

This is the Jackery Max power bank and its name is certainly fitting because this Jackery portable charger doesn’t hold back with its capabilities of power and design innovations that it has.

Power Capacity:

The power capacity of the Jackery Max is very high at a 26,000mAh.

Even with the power capacity going through a conversion during charging and becoming less doesn’t mean a whole lot because you’re still going to have quite a lot left.

With that said, since there are 3 charging ports with the Jackery Max power bank and one of the ports uses Quick Charge 3.0, the Output power capacity that you receive is going to fluctuate quite a lot depending on how many charging ports you’re using at one time.

In this case, we’ll just calculate the average conversion that you’d get from using the 2 Smartfit USB Ports.

3.7 x 26,000mAh = 96,200 / 5 = 19,240

For the most part, you’re going to be able to use about 19,000mAh of power capacity that the power bank has. It’s 7,000mAh less than the initial capacity, but even so, this amount of power is very substantial with its capabilities of being able to charge a wide range of devices multiple times over.

Power for Smartphones

Smartphones are going to be able to charge many times over. Regardless if you have smartphones like a Galaxy S8 that has a battery capacity of 3,000mAh or an iPhone SE with its 1,624mAh power capacity.

Most smartphones can charge about 5 times or more. Just keep in mind that we’re measuring these full charges if you were only charging devices one at a time.

Power for Mini Tablets

Charging tablets hold no problems either as most tablets can charge to their full power at least and with some Mini tablets being able to charge a few times with the power capacity of the Jackery Max. Small tablets like the iPad Mini 2, Mini 4, and the Galaxy Tab can charge to their full power about 3 full times before this power bank is fully depleted.

Power for Large Tablets

If the Jackery Max is charging full-Sized tablets like the iPad Air 2 with its 7,340mAh power capacity then it’s able to charge to full power two times. Charging one of the largest tablets on the market like the 12-Inch iPad is going to result in a single full charge because it has a 10,000mAh power capacity, however, you will have quite a lot of power left over to use.

Output Charging:

You’re going to find that Jackery didn’t hold back when they designed and created this power bank because the charging is just on par with the power capacity is.

2 SmartFit USB Ports:

There are 2 SmartFit USB ports on the Jackery Max and that’s another way of saying that they’re able to Output a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. Since 2.4A can charge any device that doesn’t use Quick Charge or USB-C at its max charging speed.

So these 2 ports can charge Non-Quick Charge or USB-C compatible devices at their max speeds, and it can also charge tablets like iPads at their max charging speed of 2.4 Amps.

Quick Charge 3.0 Port

The Quick Charge 3.0 port is going to be most useful for devices that are compatible with Quick Charge 3.0. This is because if you’re charging with compatible devices, you’re able to use Quick Charge speeds at 3.6-5V/3.0A |5V-9V/1.67A | 9V-12V/1.25A. As a result, those devices can charge to 80% of power in just 30 minutes.

With that said, if you’re using a Non-compatible Quick Charge device with this port, then the max possible charging speed that it’s able to Output is the same as the SmartFit ports at 2.4A

Max Output Capabilities

The Max Output of the power bank is great because it’s 6A all at once. This means that if you’re using all three of the charging ports at once, then each one will be able to Output 5V/2.0A per port. 2 Amps may not be the max charging speed for each port, but 2 Amps is still faster than just a single amp.

So the Max Output is high enough to charge multiple devices at once at good charging speeds.

Input Charging:

One of the flaws about its power is the recharging with the Jackery Max power bank because it recharges using only a single Micro-USB input port and has a max recharge rate of 5V/2.0A only. Most power banks that have this high of a power capacity usually make use of 2 Micro-USB Input ports for faster recharging.

You must use a 2 Amp USB wall charger or higher to recharge the Jackery Max as fast as possible.

The great thing about the Jackery Max is that it comes with a 2-Port USB wall charger and each of its ports has an Output of 2.4A and a Max Output of 4.8A. So the power bank comes with a way to recharge it at max charging speed at least.

Design

Size and Weight:

One of the bigger downsides with power banks that have high power capacities is that they will almost always have large sizes and heavyweights, and that is true here.

The Jackery Max has a length of 6.6 inches, a width of 3.9 inches, and a thickness of 0.9 inches.

The weight of the power bank is 1.6 pounds. It’s not going to fit into your pockets, and you probably won’t be holding it for very long. With that said, it’s still a portable charger that you’re able to take anywhere you want and set it down for when you want to charge your devices.

Functional Components:

Even though its size and weight aren’t the most desirable, the design is done very well, because all of the functional parts are on a single side.

There’s the power button, LCD power capacity screen, the 3 USB ports, and the Micro-USB Input port.

Charging automatically starts when you plug a device into one of the ports, and that leaves the power button with the main feature of simply pressing it to view the power capacity.

The LCD power capacity display is a very easy way to tell the power that’s left to use and it uses 3 digits to display its power. A lot more reliable than just a few dots that are normally used with most power banks on the market.

Build

Structure and Material:

The main body portions of the power bank are made of Aluminum and the two side panels are made of plastic. Overall, the build quality is quite great and doesn’t have any structural weaknesses. Of course, you shouldn’t go dropping this power bank because it most likely will get damaged.

Tech:

On the tech side of things, it has all the necessary tech functions to keep itself stable even when the Jackery Max is being used at its max power. This is because it’s able to control the amperage very well so the power bank doesn’t end up overheating.

Reliability

The only reliable part of the Jackery Max power bank is its size and weight. As it’s quite large and heavy, and most of the time it’s best to just place it into a bag and set it down when you’re using it.

For all of its other parts, the power bank is very powerful with its long-lasting power capacity and fast charging speeds. It should have 2 Micro-USB Input ports but as long as you’re recharging the power bank overnight then the recharging shouldn’t affect your experience.

The use of an LCD power capacity display is a lot more useful than what most power banks use.
