Portable power supplies are very useful and at the same time, they’re somewhat ridiculous.

That’s because they have lots of powering and charging capabilities that you’re able to use while you’re far away from any stable source of power.

At the same time, all that power requires a large place to be which results in these portable power supplies to be large and heavy.

It’s a part that comes with having lots of power and we think you probably already know that, but we just wanted to make it clear that these things are not anything like power banks, as they’re beyond that.

This is the Suaoki PowerOak Portable Power Source Supply that is also similar to other portable power supplies that we’ve reviewed such as the Anker PowerHouse and also the Goal Zero Yeti 400.

It might be quite similar but at the same time, it does have its differences that may make you choose one over the other. Let’s take a closer look at what this powerful piece of tech has to offer.

Power Capacity:

The power capacity of the Suaoki power supply is 120,000mAh and that is a lot of power, it’s putting 6 Anker PowerCore 20100 into one single power source.

This is the initial power capacity though and it’s not the capacity that you’re going to be receiving because there are lots of powering and charging options with this power supply.

So the capacity can either go through some heavy or light conversion. Just to note, conversion of power is present with all devices that have batteries and this Suaoki power supply is no exception.

With that said, the fluctuation of the power capacity conversion can be very dynamic, because if you’re using the AC Outlets with the USB ports and DC Output ports at the same time; then that could convert power at a worse rate than just using a single AC Outlet and using a single USB port.

In this case, though, we’re just going to calculate the average Output power capacity that you’d receive with the Suaoki power source.

3.7 x 120,000 = 444,000 / 5 = 88,800

An Output power capacity 88,800mAh after the conversion of power is still a lot of power and you’re going to be able to charge a multitude of the devices to their full power multiple times; you’re also able to power appliances for quite a long time too.

Power Capacity for Smartphones

Charging smartphones with the Suaoki power source is going to pose no problems at all because charging the lowest capacity smartphones such as the iPhone SE with its 1,624mAh battery is going to result in nearly 55 full charges.

Of course, these full charges are based on the assumption that you’re only charging your smartphone or whatever other devices we’re going to be talking about next.

Most of the time though, you’re probably not going to be using this power supply for charging a single smartphone only.

Even charging high capacity smartphones such as a Galaxy S8 with its 3,000mAh capacity is going to result in about 30 full charges.

Power Capacity for Tablets

When it comes to larger USB chargeable devices this power supply doesn’t waver their either because you could be charging an iPad Mini 2 or iPad Mini 4 and that would result in them getting about 13 full charges.

Full-Sized Tablets such as the iPad Air 2 can result in having 12 full charges.

The Suaoki can, of course, charge laptops and you’re most likely going to be able to charge your laptop, no matter what it is, to its full power multiple times because there’s a lot of power to go around.

Output Charging:

USB Port Charging:

This Suaoki PowerOak power supply has lots of USB ports because in total it has 4 USB ports and there are two sets of them on the power supply.

The max power of each of the ports in the two sets is 3.5A and the Max Output of each of the two sets is 3.5 Amps.

This is a really good charging speed when it comes to USB speeds. Since most smartphones and tablets are going to be able to charge at their max charging speeds.

With that said, none of the ports feature Quick Charge so Quick Charge compatible devices are not able to charge at their max charging speeds.

With that said, if you’re charging two devices at the same time with one set of the USB ports, then each port is capable of outputting a charging speed of 5V/1.75A which is quite good.

AC Outlet:

The Suaoki uses 2 Outlets and you may think that it’s useless to use two AC Outlets because there’s not enough power to go around to use two at the same time; well, that’s not true at all because the two AC Outlets share a 300Watt Pure Sine power.

This means you can power a mini-fridge and a fan while you’re out on those summer days, or you can use the AC Outlets for charging devices while you power an appliance.

The possibilities with the two AC Outlets are plentiful because there are 300Watts of power to go around and it’s basically like having a wall outlet that you can take anywhere and everywhere with you.

DC Output Ports

There are two DC Output ports and each of them has an Output power of 12V/3.0A and that’s enough power to charge most laptops on the market at their max charging speed as well as powering a few appliances that match the powering requirements of these ports.

12V Outlet:

There’s also a 12V Outlet that you can use with the devices that you own which use a 12V Outlet for charging or power. This Outlet is capable of an Output power of 12V/120W so you’ve got quite a lot of power available to use.

Jumping Port for 12V Vehicles:

The power supply even has a Jumping port that you can use to jump-start your car and this confirms that this power supply has everything that you need. It comes with the Jump Starter Battery Clamp that you can use to jump-start your car.

Input Charging:

One of the best aspects of power supplies like these is that they have multiple ways of recharging. Just take a look at the other power supplies that we’ve reviewed in the past:

Each of them has more than just a single way of recharging the power supply and that is a good thing because there are times that you won’t have access to one recharging method and so you can use an alternative way of recharging the power supply.

AC Adapter

The AC Adapter can be used to recharge the Suakoki power supply and it’s the fastest way to recharge it because it has a recharging speed of 72W/29.4V. Charging the power supply with the AC Adapter is going to result in 5-6 hours full recharge time.

Car Charger

The other recharging method that also uses the DC Input port is the car charger, so you can place this in your car, drive, and have this power supply recharge. With that said, the recharging with the car charger is slower because it has a recharging speed of 12/24V, and that puts the recharge time to 10-11 hours.

Solar Charger

One of the most useful recharging method that this power supply has is by using a Solar Panel.

This is done by hooking your Solar panel into the Solar panel port to the side of the power supply and the Suaoki power supply can recharge them.

The best part about Solar recharging is that the power supply comes with the Solar charging cable so you don’t have to purchase a separate cable when you want to recharge using Solar power.

Design

Size and Weight:

Always be ready for a Portable Source Supply like this to be heavy and large because of their humongous amounts of power and also lots of powering and charging options that all have their circuitry.

This Suaoki Portable power source has a length of 9 inches, a width of 9 inches, and a thickness of 5.5 inches. The weight of it is 12.3 pounds.

This is not going to be comfortable to hold for long periods and it’s only meant for placing down and then being used. It’s what you would expect from a device such as this one.

Functional Components:

There are quite a lot of things going on when it comes to the functional components of this power supply, simply because there are lots of them here.

To the left of the Power supply is where you have:

  • The Solar Charging Port
  • Adapter Recharging Port
  • Jumping Port for Vehicles

At the front is where you’re going to find the following:

The power button for actually turning on the power supply

DC Power button/AC Power Button – Once the power is on you can press either the DC or AC power buttons to turn on those powering components.

Each of the buttons has a green light that turns on when that specific powering spot is activated and you have to hold each of the buttons for just a few seconds for turning them on and for turning them off.

The power supply uses an LCD screen that shows the amount of Input power being used for when it’s recharging and it also shows the DC and AC Output.

All of the powering measurement is done in Watts. To the left of the power outage, there’s the power capacity which is shown visually with the image of a battery and the battery has 5 levels to it. So you can think of it has each of its levels at 20% increments.

At the front is where there’s the DC 12V Outlet that has a cover over it and the 4 USB ports are paired together in groups of two.

Along with all that, there’s also the two DC Output ports.

To the right side of the Suaoki power supply is where there are the 2 AC Outlets. All of the components of this power supply are very well labeled to show their powering capabilities which aren’t quite prevalent in power supplies like this.

At the top is where you can find a handle that makes this power supply a lot easier to hold.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of the Suaoki Power Supply is really good. The blacktop and bottom portion are made of plastic but the middle of it is made of Aluminum and that makes it very durable.

Also, all of the components of the power supply itself are built very well and have a premium feel every time you use it.

Tech:

On the tech side of things the power supply has lots of safety tech protections to make sure no matter how you’re using the Suaoki PowerOak, you’re going to be safe.

Since it has temperature regulation tech and out of all the safety protections that it has, the auto-shutoff feature is one of the most helpful because when you exceed the amount of power that the power supply is capable of it just shuts off everything so it doesn’t get damaged.

Reliability

This Suaoki Portable Power Source is very reliable, as long as you’re not betting on putting it into your pocket or holding it all day; since this power supply is large and heavy.

For everything else though, it exceeds lots of expectations because it’s able to charge your devices such as smartphones, charging laptops, and also power appliances.

Not only can you power one appliance, but you can also potentially power two appliances because the Suaoki power supply has two AC Outlets that share quite a high power output of 300Watts.

Recharging is also quite reliable because the power supply uses 3 methods of possibly recharging it. As it has an AC Adapter, a Car charger adapter, and also Solar recharging method for those times when you’re away from a car and a wall outlet.
