Bluetooth earbuds are the standard when it comes to Bluetooth audio listening, of course, there are still plenty of wired earbuds but you’re going to need some sort of adapter to use them as the headphone jack has exited the building. That said, the force to move to a wireless Bluetooth future does have its benefits and that would be the amount of competition for the Bluetooth earbud market.

In this review, we’re taking a look at these UGREEN T1 Bluetooth earbuds with Electronic Noise Canceling (ENC). There are many Bluetooth earbuds on the market, the top brands such as Samsung and Apple have their own, but at a very high cost, but you have to wonder; Does the cost for them equal the quality that they deliver? Let’s take a closer look at these from UGREEN.

Sound Quality

The audio quality of these UGREEN T1 earbuds is one of the best that you can get when it comes to less-known brands.  We think that the cost of these buds doesn’t reflect what they capable of as the sound is truly on par with what you can expect from a more expensive brand or it at least reaches pretty close to it.

The first thing to know is that these T1 earbuds feature ENC, which is another acronym for Active Noise Canceling (ANC), and this means that the earbuds can block out environmental noise. This makes it easier to listen to your music, and it especially makes it easier to hear and talk when you’re on a phone call as the earbuds amplify your voice over a call. It’s also nice to have the ENC tech on these T1 earbuds because hearing car horns, people talking, or other surrounding noises, while you’re listening to your music, can be quite annoying.

These earbuds can handle those noises well. Is it the best ENC that you can find on any pair of earbuds on the market? No, however, we’re looking at the price for these UGREEN earbuds and we think that the ENC hits far higher than what they’re selling.

The T1 earbuds feature a 6mm Graphene driver on each of its buds, and they are powerful. Most of the time when it comes to less known brands for earbuds, they have very small drivers that barely deliver any bass at all. These do. A 6mm driver can deliver hard hits for bass, and we felt it when listening to certain songs. We took a listen to Dawnbreaker by Metrik the most, that does rely on bass quite a bit, has mids and highs. These UGREEN earbuds can handle those notes well, and we are confident that these will deliver a great hearing experience no matter what music you listen to.

UGREEN placed such an emphasis on the quality for the earbud bass, that they have a Superbass setting that can boost the driver usage and give you deeper bass noise.

Connectivity Controls

Using these UGREEN T1 earbuds are easy, but the first thing you have to do is connect the earbuds to your phone. It’s very simple, just make sure that you have Bluetooth on with your smartphone, then remove the earbuds from the case and the earbuds will automatically turn on and go into “pairing” mode. Then your smartphone should be able to find the earbuds and they’re labeled “UGREEN HiTune T1” in the Bluetooth settings.

Additionally, if the earbuds are off when they have been removed from the case, you can hold down each earbud for about 5 seconds and it will turn on. You may do the same thing to turn them off.

Once you are connected to the earbuds you have many touch controls that you can use for music, videos, and phone calls.

Here are the controls that you can use with these UGREEN earbuds:

Triple Tap L-Earbud – Previous Track

Triple Tap R-Earbud – Next Track

Single Tap L/R Earbud – Play/Pause

Twice Tap R-Earbud –  Volume Up

Twice Tap L-Earbud – Volume Down

Press and Hold the R-Earbud for 2 Seconds – Switch Between Superbass and Normal Mode

Press and Hold the L-Earbud for 2 Seconds – Activate a Voice Assistant

Single Tap L/R Earbud – Answer/End Call

Press and Hold the L/R Earbud for 2 Seconds – Decline a Call

Overall the touch controls for these earbuds are great to have, and most of the actions are easy to do. However, we say “most” because there are some controls that can get mixed up with other types of controls and you may end up doing something else. That said, it does get easier the more times you use it.

Design / Fit

These T1 earbuds are comfortable to wear, and they look great. They are similar to Airpods, but they’re colored black. They have an enclosed design, and this gives the buds a Passive Noise Cancelling advantage.

The bud tips that come on the earbuds are comfortable and maybe a good fit for more people. The good news is that in the box you’ll be getting four other sized bud tips that range from extra small to small, medium, and large.

Build and Accessories

The build quality of everything that you get in the box is one of the best parts of these T1 Earbuds, especially when you go back to the price. The earbuds themselves are solid, and they have an IPX5 water-resistant rating that can withstand splashing water. These earbuds cannot withstand being submerged in water.

The case is also great and feels premium. It magnetically closes and has an LED power light to show it’s charging the earbuds, and the earbuds themselves also have LEDs that light up to show that they’re being charged.

The case also uses a USB-C input port, once again, another positive part as the USB-C has become so commonly used that it’s overtaking the Micro-USB port. In the box, you’ll find a USB-C to USB-A cable that you can use to recharge the case.

Conclusion:

There is a vast selection of Bluetooth earbuds to purchase on the market, but one thing is clear. You don’t have to go for the most expensive bigger brand options as smaller brands do just as well. These UGREEN T1 ENC earbuds are proof of that.
